By the time I got through the remaining calls, I had only signed one more Trade Agreement. All the other merchant groups were either too scared to work with me or weren't offering anything I needed.
At least not needed urgently.
I didn't need any more specialists, unless with it was in mining equipment, but I didn't manage to meet one.
Instead I managed to sign a deal with the Brightstar Merchant Group. They prided themselves on being extremely versatile in their products and made sure to emphasize their willingness to procure almost anything I wanted.
The agreement I signed with them was very similar to the one with Ironcrest and they too would be coming in about a week.
My goal here was to find mining tools so we could set up our own mining operation and also gain access to different materials for the creation of my spear.
And since I couldn't find one merchant group that specialized in those two things, one with variety and a drive to find what I needed would have to do.
When it came down to the numbers side of things, it was pretty similar to what I did with Ironcrest. I would get a favorable tax, and a decent one time fee, logistics tax, and an annual renewal fee.
The main difference is that they wanted to sign a deal for 100 years plus pre-determined numbers for a 50 year option clause. I declined the option and brought them back down to 50 years.
Whose to say the situation would be like in 50 years let alone 100. No need to sign anything that binding for that long.
That was it for merchant business.
There was one final call, that wasn't so simple. It was between another Planetary Lord.
When the call connected I saw a rather large looking…creature. It looked like a humanoid rat. That was literally the best way I could describe the being that sat on the other side of the screen.
A very fat rat man.
"It was high time that a Planetary Lord appeared within my range! I, the great Farlathos grants thee the pleasure of meeting me!"
I was already getting annoyed.
Part of me wanted to cut the connection immediately, but it wouldn't hurt to gather a bit of information here. His opening line already provided me with a small tidbit.
"Patriarch Raizen. Nice to meet you."
The rat man frowned. Or at least I think he did, the amount of fat moving around his body made it hard to tell.
"That is not a greeting befitting one such as I, but it is passable for now. I expect a proper education on proper manners in your future but no matter. I am sure your feeble mind is likely wondering why the great Farlathos has decided to grace you with his presence but fear not the answer is simple!
"I am gracious enough to not ignore whatever plight you and your people are experiencing and have hereby decided that I will reluctantly accept the position of being your Liege. Do not bother rejoicing for it is not a happy occasion but a solemn one.

"Swearing ones loyalty to another is no simple matter, and despite it being to myself, it should still be treated as such. Do not let this trouble your heart though, my new servant-"
"Enough."
I couldn't take it anymore. He was just going on and on and on about absolutely nothing. And if there was one thing I hated more than anything in this world, it was thought of bowing before another.
It filled me with more anger than I would like, but I couldn't deny that part of me. I would never kneel before someone else. Never.
And apparently the fat rat man didn't take my interruption too kindly.
"One mistake is more than enough! Anything beyond that is insolence of the highest order! Do not ruin this moment between master and ser-"
"I said enough you fat piece of shit."
Flames danced around my body as the anger I felt began to rise in intensity. The fat man then went silent, but I could see anger coloring his features as even his fat began to slowly shake in accordance to his emotions.
Just as I was about to cut the connection between us, he spoke one final line.
"You will regret this travesty for an eternity."
And then he cut the line himself.
Theres some more of that conflict that Elder Zal mentioned coming back I guess. This time it's going to be against some type of rat people.
I look forward to it.
After closing the connection, I took a look at my current Status. There were some changes.
Status
Name – Raizen
Age – 21
Race – Infernal
Cultivation – Core Formation (Ignition)
Profession – Planetary Lord (Earth)
Planetary Interface
I then clicked into Planetary Interface and from there I navigated to System Integration. This is where most of the new changes were.
System Integration
Change Arrival Point?
Nearby Planets (Restricted)
Incoming Requests
The arrival point was currently my new embassy location. Won't be changing that any time soon. Nearby Planets was on interesting one. It was restricted to only showing me Planets that had Planetary Lords and were with in my current range.
It even specified what that range was, my galaxy, the Milky Way, which I found interesting that it used that name, and two other galaxies. Laxis and Pygaramuti. Two vastly different names, but they were the galaxies that were near me.
Zaiyan was listed under the Milky Way, which is interesting cause that could mean one of the Planets Earth already knew about had life on it. While the only other Planet I saw was one called Garpatia.
I'm assuming that's the one the fat rat man was from.
It was in the Pygaramuti Galaxy. I'll keep that in mind.
The only other Planet listed was titled Meexxal. They didn't give me a call though, so I knew nothing about them for the moment.
Another interesting point was that I had the option of requesting an audience with each one of them. A pretty good feature.
Makes me wonder about the other features that other official professions recognized by the System have. Like how did the Merchants know to call me? I don't see a feature to call them.
Well I'm sure I'll learn more with time.
For now, let's go take care of some housekeeping.
I then left my office and spent some time talking to the boys, Lidaz, and Ozal my new temporary steward. I think it's fine to pass on the communication stuff to Ozal for now, I left him with instructions to contact me should anything come up, and to do so at his discretion.
After that I checked on the construction of the Embassy. Now that they knew they had a bit more than a couple hours to build it, they were making a few changes and expanding on the initial plans.
He was also informed to tell the members of the Planetary Council about the new shops that will be available on Earth in a week or so.
War plans were coming along as well.
For now it was tied to the ants, but I also told them that another planet might potentially attack us at some point. They'll need to prepare for that too.
Lastly, I finally gave the green light for the Operations department to begin their hiring process.
I didn't want to be too worried about hiring people when we didn't know the System Integration thing would play out. Now that we knew, then it was time to focus on that. They would be hiring quite a few humans to handle to day to day tasks for the Clan.
Core Formation cultivators didn't need to be receptionists.
I didn't have anything else that pressing to do, so I just spent the week cultivating.
