Infernal Apocalypse [ LitRPG , Non-Human Lead, Lots and lots of Fire ]

243. City Lord Kimberly (Book Four)

Day in the life…City Lord Kimberly

City Lord Kimberly has been stressed out since the beginning of the Apocalypse and the descent of the System on Earth.

First off, she was teleported in her pajamas to some mysterious dark forest, where little murder vampire rabbits would attack her on site for no good reason. Thankfully she had a staff which was more powerful than she initially thought and managed to defend herself fine enough.

Then after a few stressful fights and a mostly aimless journey, she managed to find a stronghold that provided relative safety.

The only problem was that the damn thing was controlled by Vampires and while they were relatively nice hosts, they kept trying to push her and the people that came later to becoming Vampires as well.

Then what she considered an idiot of a man, showed up and accepted the offer of the Vampires and joined their ranks which led to a few others of the stronghold being convinced to do the same thing once they saw his increased strength.

Of course, although she vehemently disagreed with it, she couldn't ignore that she understood it to a point. People were dying left and right in the Tutorial and desperate times called for desperate measures.

Anyway, she made it through that and somehow made it back to Earth only for that Vampire idiot to sign some deal with the Vampires and they back with them. She was worried initially, but everything was fine for the most part since they somehow built them a massive City, even though that guy became the City Lord.

But of course, things got worse before they got better.

A Vampire war happened, and it looked as if they were all going to die or be forced to become Vampires, only for that guy to come out of nowhere and unleash a power that scared her shitless.

Then time passed, people left, and everything went to shit. But things refused to end there and that being that she scared the shit out of her came back and murdered the City Lord in cold blood without a second thought.

She was angry at that time, but he left no room for discussion and before she realized she became the new City Lord. Then all of her stress only got worse from there. There were many times when she wanted to quit the position and run away or something, but the gaze of the man showed that up even in her dreams, both the good and the bad ones, made her think twice about it.

To make matters worse, he sent her help, and the safety of the City was guaranteed, so she had limited excuses after that. Managing the City wasn't easy, but she managed for a while, until the whole ant thing happened and then out of nowhere rats showed up and then well…blank…and then that scary bastard up and left.

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

The number of problems piling up on her desk had only skyrocketed after that. Ants, extra people, missing people, and worst of all, politics.

Other City Lords were trying to seize the gap left by Planetary Lord and sending feelers out to her to see which side of the coin she fell on. She ignored everything, but deep down she knew where she would stand.

It would be a long time before she forgot the gaze of Raizen and well…

Anyway, she had just left the meeting where the new Steward had put some of those greedy bastards in their place and returned to her office where the problems hadn't ceased.

"Welcome back City Lord."

"You only call me City Lord when there's a problem…"

"Really? I never realized. Though since we're on the topic Miss City Lord, we had to imprison a few more people who tried to enter the hole to the Core."

Kimberly rubbed her temples as the words registered in her mind.

"How many?"

"Just three this time."

"You know what? I'm tired of it, contact the Planetary Force output in the City and let them know we are handing over all the idiots who tries to go down there to them, if they won't accept it then we are banishing those people from the City and confiscating all that they own.

"If they won't respect our rules then I won't respect their rights."

"…Are you sure this is path you want to go down? People won't be happy."

"Blah blah blah, I don't care anymore. I tried to be nice and forgiving, but if they keep trying to take advantage of that, then I have no reason to be nice to them anymore. If anyone complains tell them I have a staff that would love to visit them where the sun doesn't shine."

"Yes City Lord Ma'am!"

"Stop being a jackass, anyway, let's get a plan going for building a little containment building around the hole, and what's the word on all the people that needs homes? Our Steward would like that prioritized."

"Understood, and well things are moving along, thankfully since our City wasn't completely full we still had a few extra spaces but that's been used up now, and the builders are working hard to expand lodging around the City. In the meantime, makeshift camps have been set up throughout the valley."

"Okay good, if any able bodied individual is apart of the group that needs a home then make sure every single one of them is helping. If they want proper homes then they can help build them. Oh, and don't worry about the case of the missing people anymore.

"Apparently they were all demons or something and our oh so magnanimous Planetary Lord killed them all for us."

"…Everyone who vanished was apparently a demon, and Planetary Lord Raizen killed them all before he left? What do they even mean when they say demons? Like the servants of devil type of demon? That doesn't even make sense."

"Who knows? None of it made too much sense to me either, but the Steward said to leave it alone so that's what we'll do. Alright, and finally how is the training of our own little special forces army coming along?"

"Alright, I'll leave it alone, and ensure the City does as well, though there might be some unrest, but I will handle it. I wouldn't your staff to get active. For your question, I think it's been going well. The person City Lord Richard sent from his own personal guard has been running the entire group ragged and the last I heard was that they were all being made to live in the wild while being blindfolded or something.

"The only problem, is that the number of participants has dwindled a bit as the training progresses."

"That's fine, I only want the best of the best anyway. Who knows when the ants will attack us all. Having a bunch of pansies fighting for us will only make it harder. Also, I still need you to come with a proper name for the group, something with conviction! And find out how much it will cost to book a weekend getaway at the Blue Coast Resort. I need a damn vacation."

"…What you need is a man…"

"Hey, don't run come back here!"
