Once we entered the next room, it was as if the undead that had been following us were too scared to keep following us.
All of them suddenly stopped chasing us and remained standing by the entrance to this room.
It seemed that none of them dared to enter the room, almost as if there was something that was keeping them out.
However, it didn't take long for us to figure out what it was.
"Who dares to disturb our rest?"
There weren't many things that were in this room, there were just a few things that were placed there in front of us.
These were rectangular things that seemed to have something in them.
Looking closely, we could see that these were coffins.
It was just that we didn't really have time to pay attention to the coffins since there was something that was coming out of them.
When the coffins opened, there were bony hands that came out.
Then following that, there were skeletons that came out of these coffins and sat up to look at us. These skeletons were different from the skeletons that we had met previously though since these skeletons had burning flames in their eyes.
This was something that we were familiar with since there was one avatar that had the same thing.
It was a bunch of liches that had suddenly come out of these coffins.
After coming out, the first thing that the liches did was wave their hands and summon cloaks. Even though they were undead skeletons, it seemed like their first instinct was still to cover themselves.
That just went to show that they had awareness as liches.
Even though they were dungeon monsters, it seemed that they still had their personalities from before they became liches. They weren't controlled by anything, they were still in full control of themselves.
Once they were cloaked, they came out of their coffins and looked at the two of us.
But it wasn't as if the two of us had been idle during this time.
The moment that we saw that it was a bunch of liches that came out, we had already taken out the altar and had prepared to summon someone.
We already knew that there would be liches here since this was a place that we had visited before in the game, but we weren't certain what the quality of the liches were.
Now that we had confirmed that these liches were indeed of good quality, there was someone that would be happy.
"For them, this place should be a paradise." I said to Rothchild with a smile.
He didn't say anything, but he returned that smile with a nod.
The liches were confused when they saw us acting this way, but they didn't have time to think about it since the altar had activated. The moment that the altar activated, they couldn't help looking at it with a strange look.
After a while, the leader of the liches asked, "What is this?"
We didn't have a reason to answer them, so we didn't say anything in response.
The liches could tell that there was a bad feeling coming from the altar, or rather from the thing that it was summoning. That was why they couldn't help feeling more and more agitated when they saw that we weren't stopping.
It reached a point where they finally couldn't take it anymore and suddenly raised their hands as if they were about to attack us.
Only they didn't get a chance to do so.
"Kneel."
When the one that was summoned appeared, this was the first thing that they said.
After saying this, all of the liches felt as if there was something compelling them to follow this order. They couldn't stop themselves as their bodies suddenly followed the order and went to kneel down.
It seemed like they were doing their best to struggle, but it really was hard for them to go against the pressure that was in front of them.
It really seemed like there was nothing that they could do against this power that suppressed them.
When the figure appeared, they found that it was a lich similar to them.
Or at least in terms of appearance.
When it came to presence, they just couldn't match this lich at all.
It was clear that they were inferior to this lich that had appeared.
The lich that appeared ignored all of these liches that were kneeling down as he turned to look at me and Rothchild.
After a moment of silence, he said with a nod, "Not bad, it seems like they're quite useful. You two can go ahead while I tame them. I'll follow you once I'm done."
We just nodded in agreement before walking towards the liches.
The liches looked like they wanted to do something to stop us, but there wasn't anything that they could do as they were being suppressed. No matter how hard they tried going against the pressure that Faust released, they just couldn't do a thing.
After all, they were normal liches and he was the Immortal One.
He was supposed to be the ruler of all undead, so it wasn't as if the undead were able to do anything against him.
With Faust here, it was only a matter of time before the liches would fall under his command.
Once we walked past the liches, we continued until we reached a locked door.
I didn't hesitate as I took out the Claw of Saradon once more and inserted it into the hole in this door.
The moment that the Claw of Saradon went in, there was a click before the door opened on its own.
But once the door opened, I stepped back as I let Rothchild go in first.
The things that were behind the door were things that he would be able to use better than me, so there was no reason for me to step in first.
It was more efficient to let him go first.
