Hero or Villain, Both

Chapter 331: Alchemy lab

Rothchild walked around the room until he found what he was looking for.

This place was quite the mess, but he had a similar mind to the one that this place belonged to.

That was how he was able to find the thing that he was looking for so easily.

As for what this place was, it was an alchemy lab.

It seemed like quite the well maintained place with all of the proper equipment that was laid out all over the lab.

Though Rothchild definitely was able to tell the difference more than me since that was what his skills were for.

He was the merchant and the production expert among our avatars, so I left it to him.

As for the thing that he found, it was a book.

But this wasn't just any book, this was a special book since it was in a place like this.

This was a book that contained all of the alchemic knowledge of the Saradon Family.

This place was named after them because they were the ones that built this place.

The Saradon Family had fallen, but before they fell, they had been known for their alchemic skills.

In fact, it was because of their alchemy and how far they were willing to go with that alchemy that they had fallen. The result of that was hidden deeper in this place and we knew that, but now wasn't the time to explore it.

We naturally also knew that this lab existed since it had existed in the game, but this wasn't a place that was that important.

After all, this place was completely empty in the game.

Even though this book was also something that was in the game, it had been nothing more than a normal loot item that didn't actually give anything special. Even if one had a special job, they wouldn't be able to get anything out of this book.

It was just that the description of the book showed that it wasn't a normal book since it should have contained the alchemic knowledge of the Saradon Family.

But it wasn't the same since this was a real world that was based on the game.

That meant that we were finally able to read this book and find out what the contents were.

"Well, how is it?" I asked when I saw that Rothchild was lost in thought while reading the book.

"It's messy." That was the only thing that he said before giving a sigh in the end.

Hearing this, I couldn't help leaning in to take a closer look at the book.

When I saw what was written, I had to admit that he was right about this.

It really seemed like a complete mess from what I could see and it didn't seem like there was any useful information that was written in this book. It seemed like it was just the same as the game where we wouldn't be able to use this book.

But before I could say anything in a disappointed voice, Rothchild said, "I know what you're thinking, but give me some time to sort these notes out. I feel that there's something here that I'll be able to find, it'll just take some time."

He seemed determined when he said this, but I couldn't help looking at him with a trace of doubt in my eyes.

He looked right back at me with a confident look on his face.

Since he was confident that he would be able to find something, then I wouldn't bother rejecting him.

Instead, I just said, "Then go on and explore this lab for a bit, I'll go look at the other thing."

Rothchild gave a nod before he turned around to look at the rest of the lab.

The first thing that he did after coming into this alchemy lab was to search for this book, so he didn't really look at the other things that were in this place. But it wasn't as if there was nothing here at all.

This was the alchemy lab of the Saradon Family, so this was a place that held the things that the Saradon Family had collected over the generations. It was also the thing that the Saradon Family had relied on to build up their family over the generations.

It was just that in the game, there wasn't anything special in this place.

The player might be able to find a few things from searching this place, but it was never anything special.

So that was why I was doubtful that there would be anything here.

Still, that was also the reason why we came to this place in the first place.

We had figured that since this game world had become a real world, there would be things that we would be able to gather that we weren't able to gather before when it was still a game world.

It was a bit of a gamble and we were still waiting to see if it would pay off.

Seeing that Rothchild didn't waste any time in searching this place, I didn't bother him any longer.

I could see the interested look that was in his eyes as he looked around the alchemy lab.

Even if we had forced him to become the merchant and the production skill expert, it wasn't as if he could hold back the influence that it had on him. Since he had these skills, it was only expected that he would have a passion for them.

He could see things that I couldn't see, or at least things I couldn't see if I didn't connect with him.

Since that was the case, it was better to leave him to it.

I had to deal with the thing that was waiting deeper in this place.

That thing was part of the reason why the Saradon Family had fallen in the first place and sealed themselves and it off here.

It certainly wasn't something that was easy to deal with.

So it could be said that I really got the short end of the stick with this one.
