Stop running! Come back and fight!

I reached out with my senses and concentrated on grabbing the group of smugglers running away.

They froze in place without exploding into meat paste, a clear testament that I was getting a hang of my powers at this point… At least I hope so…

Which was a good sign considering the dozens of blood splatters behind me from my failed tries…

I then lifted them up and smashed them into the wall, killing them and decorating the wall with their blood splatters.

I then turned to see how my other half was doing.

Amber flew over a crowd of them and tossed a fireball at them, burning them up to ash with a smile on her face.

She's so hot~ I just wanna kiss her right now.

Ahem…

I brought my concentration back to the smugglers who were still running away.

Really guys… Where the heck do you think you can run off to? Our job is to kill all of you, you know? So can you all just obediently stay still and let us kill you?

Oh wait… If I look at it from another angle… This is a good chance for me to practice dealing with running targets with my powers~ Yep! Definitely a better way to see it!

Which means now I'm hunting these people~

I lifted one of the boxes off the shelves and smashed it down on top of a smuggler, reducing him to a blood splatter on the floor before flying after another one who was trying to run through a door.

I stopped him from moving and pulled him up into the air, making sure that I was using just the right amount of force to lift him so that I don't accidentally implode him.

Then once he was at a certain height, I dropped him on the ground and on his head, his neck snapping with a loud crack.

Three of them managed to squeeze through the door and shut it behind them before I could turn my attention to them.

Not that it matters anyway.

I descended to the ground and I tried to open the door but, unsurprisingly, the door was locked tight.

I could, of course, just hack it to open it but… That's not why Amber and I are here right now.

Let's see… Could I do what Amber did with that secret door earlier?

She couldn't see the mechanisms so maybe she felt it with her mind or something? Is this something like looking through the mind's eye kind of deal?

I tried to imagine a kind of invisible probe reaching towards the door and trying to feel the internal mechanisms of the door.

Annnnd… The probe got stuck in front of the door.

I tried prodding it from other directions and even imagined it passing through the door itself but I just couldn't get how I could figure out how to get this door to unlock itself.

Screw it.

I wrapped my will around the door and tore it off its hinges before tossing the door aside.

Amber flew down beside me and grinned, "Isn't this fun?"

I grinned back at her, "Let me guess… You also wanted to do this yourself but you've been holding back because of me. Now that I am also a Psionic, you want to stop holding back too?"

"Ehehehe~ That's part of the reason~ But if Tera wants the real reason… You're going to need to pry it out of my lips~"

Well… Since she asked so nicely…

I grabbed her and pulled her into a deep kiss, my tongue snaking in to flick against hers before wrapping around it to elicit a moan out of her.

She tried to lean in for more but I pulled away from her to break the kiss.

"Ah ah. If you want more, you're going to need to tell me why~"

She giggled, "Ehehehe~ Well, it's just that I think Tera looks really hot while using your powers~ And I want to see more of you doing that~"

No way, that's what I think about you too.

She didn't wait for my response and simply gave me a peck on the lips before spinning around, "Let's finish this up and have some passionate sex afterwards, ok?"

She really took the words right out of my mouth.

We flew through the door and found a group of smugglers had set up a barricade using random objects that they found to hide behind it.

All of them had their weapons pointed at us and a shout from someone amongst them resulted in lasers being fired out from their guns.

Oh, guess they must have switched out their ballistic guns for laser guns since we can just block their bullets with our telekinesis if they were kinetic rounds.

Still…

My shield flared to life as it absorbed the laser projectiles aimed at me.

On the other hand, having obviously more experience dealing with them than I do, Amber simply weaved around the lasers and avoided them expertly.

I reached my will out towards the barricade and focused on a single point.

The barricade quickly collapsed into itself, exposing the smugglers who had somehow thought this barricade would protect them from us.

I then sent the crushed barricade flying down the corridor, smashing into the smugglers that had been hiding behind it and flinging them down the corridor.

Amber followed up by bathing the entire corridor with her flames, burning anyone who had somehow survived getting smashed by the barricade.

We flew through the charred corridor and passed by several doors that we stopped to check for any survivors.

The rooms here seemed to be dormitory rooms and all of them were pretty much empty of life, though it was clear that some had been occupied moments before with how some of them still contained some food that were left half eaten before the owner abandoned them to leave the room.

The smugglers must be retreating somewhere to either escape or make a last stand.

At the end of the corridor, there was a large metallic double door that looked strong enough to withstand explosives so we left that for last and went for the room beside it instead.

This one turned out to be the security room and the door was left open so we were planning to levitate right in when shouts coming from inside made us pause.

"What? Why can't the comms get through?! We need backup right now!! Get the others stationed in the other branches to send someone here!"

"What use is there?! Those are two Psionics!! Why are Nobles here?! We didn't do anything to piss them off, did we?! Did we make a mistake somewhere?!"

"We are so dead… We're so dead…"

"I don't care if they are Psionics! Grab a gun and go start shooting!"

"Are you crazy?! You might as well just tell us to grab a gun and fight a Leviathan on our own! Did you even see that one of them was shooting fire out of her hands?! That's an Elemental Psionic!! She could just set this entire place on fire from the entrance and we would be able to do nothing! I bet the only reason we're still alive right now is because they don't want to destroy our stock!"

Oh yeah… Now that this guy mentioned it… What are they even smuggling here? Guess we'll have to check it out later and see if it's worth bringing back to sell them.

My musings were interrupted again when the last guy shouted again, "Hurry up and call the other branches damnit! At least with more people, we might actually stand a chance!"

"I'm trying! But everything's not working! It's like we lost control over everything and someone else has administrative rights over our security system!"

"Fuck it! Let's just blow the entire place up then! At least we might still be able to take them out with us!"

I think I've heard enough.

Nodding at Amber, both of us flew into the security room to find four smugglers surrounding another smuggler that was hunched over the security console.

One of them spotted us and let out a cry of alarm and raised his gun at the same time.

He didn't get to shoot it as I threw forward a wall of mental force that launched the entire group at the wall, smashing them into it and decorating the wall with their blood splatter and innards.

I looked at the console that the guy had been trying to use before looking down at my chest, "Was this your doing, Renata?"

"Ehehehe~ Of course Daddy!"

"Then doesn't that mean you could have opened all the locked doors for us and closed them off to prevent those smugglers from running away?"

"Oh! I could, Daddy!"

"So… Why didn't you?"

"Because Daddy looked so cool tearing off the doors and chasing after these useless pieces of meat! Why would I stop that?"

Amber gave her a thumbs up at the side, "Good choice, Renata! I approve!"

…

I guess I do agree partly because I do feel cool tearing the doors off…

Anyway, let's check out that giant door at the back shall we?
