Kent fell through what appeared to be a wormhole.

During the fall, he felt his mind going through a spectrum. Countless scenes flashed through his sight. Chilling scenes flashed through his mind, instantly overwhelming his senses.

He saw scenes of battles, beasts, terrifying cultivators, secrets, and the most chilling of them all: a dark golden eye that stared back at him.

This gaze gave him the chills.

From the scenes of battle, he saw vast battlefields littered with corpses of humans and monsters alike. Legendary warriors held their weapons high as they charged into storms of danger.

Kent saw Dark Creatures invading the universe. He saw Chaos Beasts unleashing terror into the universe. He saw the horror of the forsaken race laying waste to countless lives.

He saw many other scenes, and each is a horror that can't be ignored.

As for the cultivators he saw, every last one of them held so much power that when his gaze landed on them, he felt his soul shake.

Just like how he saw billions of terrifying beasts, every last cultivator held some form of uniqueness that he could only translate as terror.

The secrets can't be discerned since even Kent didn't seem to know what he was seeing in the first place.

As for the eye, he had no idea what or who could have such a chilling gaze. However, locking eyes with it had, in a way, impacted him so much that when he came out from the portal and landed at the base of a very tall frigid stairway, he had no idea.

His mind became dull for almost an hour before Kent managed to make sense of where he was. The whole space is made of ice.

"Freezing."

He looked ahead and saw a tall stairway radiating intense chill and frost. The sight made his blood run cold.

"Where am I?" Kent muttered. The last thing he remembered was a whisper from Runa telling him not to fail, and the next, he was here.

Obviously, he didn't expect to be here in the first place. Runa also said nothing and merely pushed him into a portal. In a way, he is here with no idea what to do.

Maybe he didn't want to accept what he had to do despite it staring him in the face.

Looking at the stairway, he knew climbing it was why he was here. But he had to ask again. However, looking at the frost and coldness coming off from it, he knew things weren't as simple as they looked.

Kent tried to use the soul map to examine the stairway, but to his shock, he couldn't even send his senses to cover the first step. Something rendered his senses useless.

"Strange..." Kent said, narrowing his eyes.

"Strange indeed." Suddenly, a voice came from his left side, causing Kent to turn and look. Walking toward him is a beauty clad in white armour, holding a bow. She is radiating an icy aura filled with dangerous lightning.

"Welcome to the Chronicle of Ice Dragon... This is a realm created for the 14 Chronicles of the Storm and all who are worthy to walk the Absolute Ice Path." The lady smiled and introduced herself, "I am Miryssa."

Kent narrowed his eyes further, sensing something familiar about this lady. However, to avoid appearing impolite, he also introduced himself: "I am Kent Madson."

The coldness coming from Miryssa made his bones start to freeze. Just looking at her gave Kent chills that he could not describe. However, he put on his brave face and instead focused on what he had here.

"I have no idea why I am here. So, can you enlighten me, Lady Miryssa?"

She smiled and turned toward the stairway and said, "Many eras ago, this place was handed to us by someone very powerful. She said that walking the ice path means being one with the ice. And to be the ice is to defeat the ice.

Back then, we didn't understand what she said. However, when we took a step and started climbing, we understood what she meant.

You are sent here to take the Trial of Absolute Ice, and to do that, you must defeat the Absolute Ice stairway. There are 1000 steps on this stairway, each designed to transform your body into one worthy of wielding Absolute Ice.

You must climb all 1000 steps, and only when you succeed can you wield the Ice. Failure will permanently seal your body from ever wielding the Ice element."

Miryssa walked toward Kent and asked in a challenging tone, "Do you dare take on this challenge, Kent?"

Kent didn't answer her. His mind instead went back to what Runa said before pushing him into the portal... She told him not to fail. Now, it seems she wanted him to take this trial.

'So she wanted me to wield Ice, too.'

Kent smiled inwardly, imagining something, 'Breathing both Ice and Fire would sure take my abilities to the next level.'

He smiled and responded to Miryssa's challenge with complete confidence... "Why not. It is not every day I will get to challenge my limits or freeze to death trying."

Miryssa smiled and pointed her finger at the stairway. To Kent's shock, a thin, transparent layer opened, sending a sudden chill and prompting him to warm his body with his flame element.

Miryssa chuckled and said, "Know that the moment you step on the first step, you won't be able to harness your flame. So prepare to fight the cold with your body and hope you don't freeze to death."

Kent nodded, but he was troubled inwardly, learning he couldn't use his flame. He is a dragon with the flame element, so if he is going to face the most chilling Ice he has ever felt, the least he can do is be able to harness his own flame.

But that is not possible anymore.

"Good luck, Kent... You are going to need it," Miryssa said and vanished from sight. Kent took a deep breath and gazed at the stairway.

"This is going to be a chilling climb. However, I must endure and pass." Deep down, Kent knew he would have to one day walk the path of Ice.

After all, one of the Six True Primordials who paved the way for him to rise to who he was meant to be was an Ice User. So the earlier he begins, the better.

"I'd better start early," he began walking toward the stairway.

Meanwhile, inside the Tower, Runa had summoned her sisters back to the Harem Tower.

"Where is Kent?" Selene asked, looking around.

Runa smiled and formed a hand seal, instantly manifesting a door. It swung open, revealing a mountain of snow. "Let's go."

"Where are we going?" Unity asked, but Runa smiled and answered... "You will see in a second."

They didn't hesitate and followed her. The moment they walked through the door, they appeared atop the snow mountain. Miryssa was standing there too. When the ladies saw her, they all turned to Runa.

"This is Miryssa, one of my sisters and teammates from my past life," Runa introduced her. She then introduced her sisters to Miryssa, too.

Afterwards, she pointed at the stairway in the distance...

"Kent," Elsa called out, watching the silhouette of Kent walking toward an Ice stairway.

"He is about to take the trial of Ice. If he wins, he will be able to command Absolute Ice; if he fails, he will forever be unable to harness Ice."

The ladies focused their attention on Kent, who stood in front of the stairway. Then, with a deep sigh, he took his first step.
