Strongest Necromancer System

Chapter 550: New Milestone

As Jason travelled across worlds, he continued to launch attacks on the various Machina outposts. The second outpost he ran into had been in a world known as Hariln, which had a lot of large oceans in it. The Machina had built their base on one of the large oceans and Jason had used the [Swamp Vipers] and another aquatic race known as the [Midnight Sharks] as his main attacking force to take them out quickly! But it was the last group that really surprised Jason! For some reason, the last group had decided to set up their camp in a subterranean world known as Moriven. The entire world was a vast network of underground tunnels that ran for miles in multiple directions, and this meant that the world was submerged in complete darkness. It was so stupid!

Jason didn't know if the Machina had done it because they just didn't think things through or if they were trying to set up an ambush for him in the last place he would think they would be, but it was just so foolish! That fight had been the most entertaining thing that Jason had ever been in. For once, Jason didn't use any mana in a fight at all, and he managed to use only his Arcane Ability [Lord of Shadows] to kill all the Machina. And just to make things more fun, Jason made sure that none of the Machina were aware of his presence, even as he killed their comrades, and it was only the last Machina who died that managed to realise that there was something wrong before he was also killed.

Unique Skill Tree

[Rook Class]

[Milestone 1: Gain 1 Rook Class Subordinate]

→ 30% Boost in stats relative to the stats of the subordinates.

→ 500% Boost in durability to subordinates in the [Rook Class].

→ Unlock the Unique Skill [Linear Charge]

[Milestone 2: Gain 10 Rook Class Subordinates]

→ King's Substitute: This allows the user to switch places [Castle] with any Rook class subordinate outside his Alternate Dimension. Each use of this technique will consume [10 x [Distance in miles]] MP.

[Milestone 3: Gain 50 Rook Class Subordinates]

→ Kamikaze: This grants all the Rooks the unique ability to release four blasts of mana in a cross pattern around them to take out surrounding enemies. The damage done by this blast is [10x] higher than the Rook's maximum damage output, and it will lead to the death of the Sacrificed Rook. Once sacrificed, it will take [1] hour to resurrect the dead Rook.

[Milestone 4: Gain 300 Rook Class Subordinates]

→ The Great Wall: This grants the Rooks the ability to form a towering stone wall from their mana, which can serve as a defensive or strategic vantage point for the user. All damage done to the Rook is reduced by 90% while in this state, and in order to maintain the wall, the Rook must remain stationary.

[Milestone 5: Gain 3000 Rook Class Subordinates]

→ King's Guard: This grants the King the ability to form a deep metaphysical connection with the Rooks so that whenever the King suffers from any attack that does not immediately cost him his life, he can shift the damage received towards any one of his [King's Guard] Rooks. The King will not receive any damage suffered by the King's Guard, and if the King's Guards die from their injuries, they can only be revived [1] minute after.

[Milestone 6: Gain 10,000 Rook Class Subordinates]

After so many days of ambushing the Machina, Jason finally managed to get past the three thousand mark in his Rook subordinates, and he finally achieved the fifth milestone in his unique skill tree! Jason was glad that he finally managed to get enough Rooks to pass that limitation, and he was actually a little impressed that he had crossed the fifth milestone in the Rook Skill Tree before he crossed it in the Pawn Skill Tree. But Jason wasn't surprised since the majority of monsters and mages he had been fighting recently were all in the S-Rank and above. Jason looked through the new skill that he got, and hummed at the description.

Jason didn't get injured often in fights since he allowed his Legion to take most of the damage for him, but that doesn't mean that he would never run into an opponent that could actually deal some serious damage to him personally. With a skill like this, Jason wouldn't have to worry about being held back by those injuries since he could just shift them over to any of his Rooks.

From what Jason read, it was obvious that any Rook that he uses for [King's Guard] was very likely to die if the injuries they suffered were just too much, and Jason decided that it would be best to choose some of the Rooks in Rank III and Rank II so that they would be able to take as much damage as possible before they died. Jason had multiple Machina subordinates that were in Rank II and he also had a few superhumans in Rook Rank II and III as well and Jason eventually chose two hundred Rook Rank II subordinates and ten Rook Rank III subordinates to be his [King's Guard]. Jason suddenly felt a magical link forming between him and the subordinates that had been chosen, and Jason could hear Ragnar and Trigon complaining that they couldn't be a part of the [King's Guard] since they weren't Rooks anymore. Jason just patted them gently with a smile, and he told them that he was sure there would be some other useful Bishop Class Skill when he crossed into the next milestone there.

Once Jason was done with the allocation, he turned back to look at his tab once more. Jason had gained a lot more subordinates after his attacks on the various Machina hideouts, and even though he gained so much mana that he now had well over eight million mana points, Jason could see that his other stats were barely getting any stronger. Jason was now a TITAN, so he knew that the low-level S-Rank and SS-Rank enemies wouldn't do much to improve his stats at all. Even the SSS-Rank subordinates that he resurrected only increased his rank by about five percent each time. So Jason knew that if he wanted to get stronger faster, then he would have to start hunting down stronger opponents.

'Like that Beast of the Apocalypse. It's a TITAN Rank, isn't it?'

This thought went through Jason's mind, and Jason could only wonder what sort of monster this beast would be. From what Jason had learned, it had some sort of ice-related ability, but the system didn't have a lot of information on the beast, mainly because all the people that had crossed its path had died gruesome deaths. That didn't really boost Jason's morale at all.
