I'm surprised that in the short time Katsuki had left me, she already gathered some intel on the dead guy.
Apparently he was a former slaver but greed got to him as he realised being an illegal slaver could earn him more money. He then specialised himself into mastering Umbramancy and found a way to cloak himself using shadows as a permanent shield of sorts to hide himself and also travel through the shadows.
That's definitely one magic I would like to learn if I could. If I wasn't proficient in Umbramancy, that guy might as well have been invincible…
Anyway, he managed to get some other illegal slavers under his wing and led them within the forests to capture people from Nekinumi and Elhiria Republic.
He then came up with the idea that since Trasifs were obsessed with femininity, he would just get someone and make them the most feminine woman possible, then use an enchantment to hyperfocus their attention to her and easily capture and even use them to capture more Trasifs.
Pretty diabolical if you ask me.
Well, he's dead now so he won't be a problem anymore.
Both Katsuki and I agreed that there was no need for the other girls to know about what happened today so we didn't talk about it.
Not that there was any chance to since the girls were eagerly waiting for me to be done with the Trasif maid to start their own orgy party anyway…
Since we didn't have anything else after we collected our rewards from freeing the Trasifs, we continued our way towards the capital city of the Trasifs the next day.
Next stop, Emmeflero Capital City!
At least I could pronounce this one, unlike this Erptyg… Ertpytg… Whatever the name of this town was.
The good news was that the capital was pretty close by so we only needed two days to reach there.
Once again, Katsuki was the one leading the way and we followed behind her with my Shadow Guards watching the perimeter.
I was expecting another incident to happen like us coming across some other dragon or something but… Surprisingly, it was an uneventful trip.
As though reading my mind, Emilia explained to me, "This is near the capital city, Boss. So the security around here is better. We most likely wouldn't run into any monsters or bandits unless we're really unlucky."
"Wahahaha! You mean unless we're really lucky!" Odeta chuckled
I'm going to have to side with Odeta for this one… Because I don't mind coming across another dragon that we can hunt for its parts~
As we were on our second day, I was expecting to be unable to tell we've reached the city just like the town but… It was hard not to realise we've reached our destination when the forest started to open up as we neared the giant tree that was the Tree of Life.
At first I thought that it was mainly because the giant tree above us would block out any sunlight from reaching the ground but I realised that despite already being under the tree, light still shone down from above and the only things blocking the sunlight were the normal trees around us.
When I squinted my eyes at the Tree of Life, I was surprised to find that the tree itself was also giving off light.
But that light disappeared when it's night time so I wonder if this was just a special condition of the tree?
Then again… I guess it would be ironic if the Tree of Life prevented life from growing under it.
As we neared the base of the tree, it was quite obvious where the capital city was as a cluster of trees near its roots looked clearly different from all the other trees around it.
It's as if the trees themselves had grown into the shape of buildings instead of being naturally grown. They look like those apocalypse stories where humanity has perished and plants started growing on the buildings and streets, except in this case, the buildings themselves also turned into the trees as well.
It was… Hauntingly beautiful to put it in a way.
"It is said that the city sprouted out from the ground by God Drebann's command as the first sanctuary for Trasifs after they were abandoned," Lisa explained, my lover clinging to my arm and hugging it to her chest.
"Is it true?" I asked.
"Well… That's what the priests and historians claim. No one actually asked… But for you, I suppose you could?"
Hmm… I guess I might just do that after I reach the city. Drebann did say to visit him whenever after all.
Speaking of which… I wonder what Ira is up to now? I haven't felt anyone watching us ever since that little tea party of hers.
I'm honestly a little worried about what she might be planning now… With my luck, it might probably be a normal tea party… Or something that might involve fighting one of the gods.
We proceeded closer towards the Trasif capital city and as we neared it, the space opened up and we could see other travellers heading to and from the city.
I had to recall my Shadow Guards back and we switched our formation to move closer together instead of being spread out like before.
Most of the people that were travelling seemed to be Trasifs as well though there were a few people of other races here and there. And even then, most of these groups had at least a Trasif or two accompanying them.
I'm guessing most people of other races would want to reach the cities during the day considering what the Trasifs would do at night.
Sure enough, we already passed by a few Trasif couples making love to each other amongst the trees as we made our way towards the city.
There wasn't a gate that marked the entrance of the city so we simply just entered the city without even needing to pass through a checkpoint.
And just like that, we were now standing inside Emmeflero Capital City.
Looking up at the buildings, it certainly feels like I've walked into some kind of overgrown city that had been taken over by plants.
Just as I was thinking about asking Emilia if she had an inn here as well, a trio of Trasifs approached us, the one leading them being a female Trasif with blonde hair and looked practically like a supermodel.
"Hello there~ I can't help but notice that you look incredibly beautiful~ Would you like some company tonight?"
I'm not even surprised at this point since I've already experienced this before.
I raised my hand, "Sorry, but I already have company tonight."
"Oh? In that case, is there space for three more to join in?" She asked, fluttering her eyelashes at me.
"I'm afraid not."
"That's a shame~ Anything I can do to change your mind? Perhaps maybe if I show you how good my tongue feels? I can go down on you right here if you want~"
Geez, they really are forward aren't they?
"No thank you."
"Truly a shame. Oh well then~ Enjoy your time in our lovely city, beautiful~" She giggled, leading her companions away.
The fact that both of them were looking at me longingly was not lost on me and I thought they would try to pick me up as well but they didn't, opting to follow after the first Trasif instead.
I turned to Emilia, "So… We got an inn here as well or nah?"
Emilia gave me a peace sign, "Of course we do, Boss! Follow me!"
She seemed oddly happy about this but I chose not to comment and just followed behind her.
As we moved through the streets of the city, I noticed that there were banners and decorations being put up all around the city.
"Did we come in the middle of a festival or something?" I asked.
Unexpectedly, it was Minnera who answered my question, "They will be holding a divine festival soon where they give thanks to God Drebann for allowing them to live under his protection. It will last for several days and Trasifs will celebrate while praying to the God himself."
"Oh, that's cool. Are we allowed to join in or is this something that only Trasifs can participate in?"
"Everyone is welcome to join, Aster. Since to them, they believe that anyone who has reached here was guided by God Dreban and thus, they are one and the same as them and part of the family."
I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not but I guess it's none of our business anyway.
In fact, if it's just some normal festival, I don't really see a reason why we need to join as well.
Minnera then continued, "Oh, the festival will also feature a lot of sweets too. I believe there's also a sweets competition that--"
"We're definitely staying for the festival, girls! No objections, right?!" I interrupted, already salivating at the thought of it.
Hell yeah! These Trasifs definitely know how to party!
