Adam turned his gaze towards his friends and other temporary allies. "I'll finish this battle quickly, don't worry." And then he turned his attention back to Jake who just finished healing his wounds. "I'll make sure that bastard suffers, before he dies a painful death."

Elsewhere

The major powers in the kingdom all six dukes, The King, The Headmaster and Vice-Headmaster and along with professor Veyra and Seraphim.

All of them were having a standoff against the devourer beast who physical strength was that of a low ranking SSS-rank.

It should be known that if a monster was E-rank, another E-ranked awakened would have another hard time fighting to defeat it especially if its a boss monster.

If it was the mobs they would be easy to defeat even if they were in the same rank, but the same couldn't be said if they were boss monsters.

A D-rank Boss monster would need 5 Peak E ranks working together to defeat it or a C-rank awakener to defeat them.

"Oh?" The entity suddenly spoke, its voice was low but all of them heard it. "Seems like something interesting has happened."

"What do you mean by that?" Headmaster Dave Vorn asked.

The entity didn't say anything and just flicked its wrist and opened a large portal in the air, this was manipulating space and reality to show events happening on the other side.

What they saw really terrified them and confusion also spread. They saw an army of beasts snarling but couldn't move an inch, and there was also an elf who was right next to those beasts who was in the same situation.

"Tch, do think he allowed himself to get trapped like that," the entity said, it's voice was laced with disappoinment. "And looks like he has a pawn, but he isn't in a good condition."

The portal then shown Jake who was healing in the sky, corrupted mana was clinging to his body and his eyes were dark-obsidian.

Duke Bazel saw this and with a low voice said. "I-isn't that, my son?"

"Oh? That's your child?" The entity said and it flashed a grin with its large mouth. "Looks like your son joined our side, well at the cost of some innocent sacrifices of course."

"I-i-impossible!" Duke Bazel retorted with a trembling voice. "My son's pride, would never allow him to align with the evil forces!"

"But that's what is happening isn't it?" Emily said, her voice was low and cold. "And judging by how that boy Adam is acting right now, he must've killed the rest of Class S and A for that power." She said while clicking her tongue in disgust.

"That's what seems to be the case, Duke Bazel." Duke Caelthorn was the one who spoke up this time. "Your son, is now a heritic."

Duke Bazel couldn't say anything more, the evidence was right Infront of him. His son was now a cultist just like the elf who was also there, but what father would allow his own son to get killed even if they were a cultist?

'If I find the opportunity I'll help him escape.' he thought. 'I can't let my son die like this.'

"Well now I think it's time we started this battle," the entity said. "We have talked long enough."

A sudden pressure fell down on the battlefield when the entity was getting battle ready, everyone there felt the suppressive aura but being powerhouses themselves they could combat it.

"Now," the entity said. "Got help our little investment."

That's when some shadowy figures leaped into the portal it opened and disappeared, this didn't go unseen by the others but they couldn't react in time.

Dark tendrils coated with corrupted mana grew out it's back and were shot towards the powerhouses.

Duchess Corven raised her staff and created a barrier made of water that covered all of them and deflected the tendrils.

Duke Caelthorn brandished his twin daggers and moved like a storm, he cut through all the tendrils like they were butter but it didn't take long till the regrew and launched themselves back to them once more.

Duke Malros was next as he pointed his wand towards the approaching tendrils, a huge torrent of fire was sent towards the tendrils and they were engulfed in flames burning them to ash.

"Impressive," the entity said. "You truly are the guardians of this kingdom, but I'm just getting started."

More tendrils erupted from its back and this time there was around 50 of them but these ones were different, they were large and had mouths at their ends.

"Become my food!"

The tendrils were launched towards all of them and the mouths were dripping with saliva.

"This isn't good!" Duke Bazel said as he used his wind affinity to dodge and cut through one of the tendrils but they regrew faster than before, his pupils contacted as one struck him hard but managed to block it with his sword, the impact sent his crashing through multiple trees while the tendril was still trying to devour him.

Duke Silverwing was the one who acted next, he held his rapier tightly and assisted Duke Bazel.

With a single thrust he channeled Ice mana through the rapier and upon hitting the tendril it was frozen to its core.

"Break!" He then slashed it numerous times leaving deep cuts, it then broken down into numerous ice particles.

The others were also facing their own fare share of dark tendrils and it seemed that the entity's power was growing with each passing second.

"We must either kill it or push it back through the rift!" Veyra shouted.

"Easier said than done!" Seraphim replied, they were both peak S-ranks and it was harder for them to deal with even a single tendril, so they op-ed to fight together and have better chances at surviving this catastrophe.

"Just allow me to prepare my attack," Dave decided to act. "I need just five minutes of preparation."

The Headmaster's mana started surging, he was a SSS-rank awakener even if he was an early stage one his power was still undeniable.

"I'll help you, you old goat." The King said as he prepared his own attack, he was also an early stage SSS-rank and with both of them they might just have a shot at this.

On the otherside of the gate.

Adam was facing off against Jake who just finished healing, he was about to attack him again until several figures started appearing from the darkness.

The first five figures who appeared radiated the power of an A rank while the one leading them was a peak A-rank.

This was:

Their leader: Lord Ruzan, Affinities: Fire/Lightning

And there was a lone presence that came along with them that made Adam even more alert, this one radiated the power of a Peak S-ranker:

High Priest Corvex

Rank: S-rank Peak

Affinities: Darkfire, Corruption

"Well, well," he said. "The young dragon, no longer hiding what you are are you?"

Adam didn't say anything at first, he just looked around and realized that he was outnumbered and his friends were still exhausted.

He sighed and looked at Corvex. "You lot are annoying, but this is perfect."

High Priest Corvex narrowed his eyes, he could feel the immense mana coming coming from Adam, and since he could restrict all these monsters and also the elf prince while fighting off someone else showed how powerful this dragon hair was.

"Dragonic Summoning: Ignis." Adam muttered under his breath, that's when a dragon mad out of fiery red flames appeared from thin air, it's size was roughly 50 meters and it's made was made entirely out of flames.

"Fry them them, Ignis!" Adam shouted.

The dragon roared and launched itself forward, however what confused them was it wasn't heading towards the new enemies but towards the spawns of the 'Devourer'

Ignis let out a torrent of flames come out it's mouth and Adam just clenched his fists and opened up spatial rifts all of them numbering at least 100.

That's when High Priest Corvex realized what he doing but it was too late for them to act.

The flames went through the spatial rifts and the pained cries of the monsters could be heard, when everyone looked to where the monsters were all they could is a sea of flames engulfing their whole forms.

The A-ranked monsters all numbering eighty, were all fried to a crisp leaving nothing but ashes and a dark mana core behind.

While the S-ranked monsters weren't faring well either, their bodies were burnt beyond recognition and their lifelines we're almost snuffed.

"Damn you!" Corvex shouted, a vein could be seen bulging on his forehead. "Attack him, now!"

He yelled and that's when Ruzan and his team acted, they disappeared from their position and surrounded Adam from all sides.

High Priest Corvex on the other hand helped Eryndor and and S-ranked monsters escape from Adam's spatial cage.

Even if the monsters were badly injured, they were still S-ranked and would be able to overwhelm Adam and his friends.

Adam saw this and just smirked, "Ignis, show them hell."

The dragon silhouette roared and it came rushing down from the sky and slammed itself right on the ground next to Adam.

BOOM!

A huge torrent of flames erupted that covered Adam and Ruzan's whole team.

"Arghh!"

"N-noooooo!"

"S-save me!"

"L-lord Ruzan!"

When the flames subsided Ruzan's team was nothing but charred corpses now, they died before they could even act.

Ruzan was also in critical condition, he managed to survive due to a defensive artifact but he was still badly damaged.

"Y-you bastard!" Ruzan roared and charged towards Adam, creating twin daggers made out of corruption he aimed to slice through Adam's neck.

Adam looked at him with a blank expression and merely sidestepped and used his new sword that he held on his right hand to decapitate him right then and there.

"Boring." Adam muttered.

Eryndor, Jake and Corvex saw this and felt a sense of dread.

This young dragon's power shouldn't be underestimated unless you wanted to die.

That's when Corvex had an idea, if they couldn't overwhelm then they would target his friends and make him loose his composure.

"Attack those students, now!" Corvex ordered.

Jake and Eryndor heard this and they acted, they wanted to kill everyone there anyways but were distracted by Adam as he didn't even let them get near them. They commanded the rest of the monsters to move along with them.

Adam saw this and wanted to go and stop them since his teammates were tired and couldn't handle 20 S-ranked monsters in their state.

But he was stopped by Corvex who appeared right Infront of him, he generated a sword made out of corrupted energy. "Your staying here with me!" The priest said while engaging with Adam.

Adam block the attack with both his swords and pushed the priest back, after that he launched himself to his friends but the priest was already hot on his tail he launched a huge fireball made out of darkness towards Adam.

Meanwhile Jake and Eryndor along with a horde of monsters were near the students.

Katherine saw his brother come towards them and yelled. "Brother, stop this!"

Eryndor just grinned and said. "This is the end sister, it's a shame you couldn't bask in the glory along with us!"

"Jake what are you doing!" Selena yelled. "Even if you kill us you'll be wanted internationally! It's not worth it!"

Jake snarled. "If you didn't pay attention to that bastard I wouldn't have to do this! If I can't have you then die!"

All of them had a crazed look on their eyes, they didn't care about the consequences anymore they just wanted blood.

The High Priest had already dispelled the spatial cage that protected them and now they were defenseless.

And were forced to face the attacks while they were weakened, they conjured walls, barriers and deflected attacks but some cut through their bodies leaving scars while others pierced through the weaker students and killing them.

Adam was still dealing with the high priest and he was an annoyances. "Ignis, go deal with them!"

"Oh no you don't!" The High Priest said as he slashed the dragon silhouette with his corrupted sword temporarily dispelling it.

That's when Adam heard a gut wrenching scream.

"SELENA!!" It was from Duke who was screaming at the top of his lungs.

Adam saw blade slash through the back leaving a deep wound and blood pouring out and the same could be said to the others when the monsters attacked them.

That's when Adam snapped, and he stopped moving.

High Priest Corvex thought that he lost his will to fight when Adam stopped and was about to pierce through his heart and froze.

Even Eryndor and Jake along with the other monster stopped moving.

The felt like death was upon them, and they instinctively flinched.

A sudden dragonic pressure befall the whole area making them unable to move, same with high priest Corvex.

They only saw Adam move slowly towards them, his eyes were blank.

His once glowing yellow-golden eyes had now turned a dark shade of swirling violet and he had a blank expression on his face.

The monsters instinctively moved away, they felt an apex predator starring down at them and knew if they moved they would die.

Adam summoned his inventory space and threw a bunch of high grade healing potions he bought from the system store at them.

"Drink, this, now." He said in a cold voice.

Duke took the potions immediately, he never seem Adam this mad before and he could tell why.

Selena was on the brink of death and everyone was severely injured and their lifelines were dropping with each passing second.

He drank one himself and forced Selena to drink one herself, their pale faces regained color and their injuries healed in an instant.

"Move, away, and run." Adam said in cold voice and all of them felt the pressure he was emitting.

Azazel had a faint grin on his face as if he knew what was about to happen. "Never touch a dragon's mate hahaha."

Duke asked. "What do you mean by that?"

"Your about to see," Bramdor added. "What happens when someone touched something a dragon cherishes."

When all of them heard that they knew what was about to happen, Adam wanted them to go away so they wouldn't be caught up in his rage.

They all moved away from the battlefield and were now on top of a large hill far away from the battle.

Adam looked at Eryndor, Jake and The High Priest Corvex and said in a low, cold voice:

"You've made, a big mistake."
