Violet landed in the midst of the ant hoard, her spears and bolts of void flying forth to tear into the surrounding monsters. Instantly several of the beings collapsed under her sudden assult. Yet there was plenty more of the monsters nearby that only saw Violet as another prey, despite the overwhelming difference in their individual strength.
The monsterous ants surged forth, eager to sink their mandibles and claw tipped tentacles into the flesh of the being that dared to attack them. Their reckless charge disregarding anything that stood in their way, be that friend or foe. They moved like a dysfunction hivemind, acting as one singular whole, yet also individually uncaring for how their actions may harm the other ants around them.
It was a perversion of what made sense, disturbing Violet at their complete disregard for the wellbeing of their corrupted kin.
Still Violet did not let this distract her from her initial goal, that being to devistate the monster hoard and provide the assembled beasts the chance to push back against the invaders threatening them.
So she raised her void coated claws and swiped down at the encroaching ants.
With her evolution Violet had grown considerably in size, only now that she was amongst such numbers of foes did she truly understand the benefit that size truly granted her. With the monsters being around the size of a smaller deer, Violet was able to fully utilise her increased size and stats to truly dominate her foes.
Violet had always thought of herself as strong, but she had caveated that strength as predominantly coming from her mastery of magic. So to now be able to rely mainly on her physical stats to lay waste to her foes… well it was something that the young dragon relished.
Icor flew into the air in bursts with every swipe of her claws as she rended the monsters apart. Bodies of the ants were crushed and sent flying with every swipe of her tail, their crumpled forms crashing into those behind. She pounced around, crushing anything that was beneath where she landed, only to unleash her barrage of magics and physical might to decimate all that stood before her.
Whilst her assult was indeed devastating, she was not invulnerable to all retaliation. Especially with her being so deeply behind enemy lines and surrounded on all sides. The whipping tentacles were capped with a chitin blade, it was sharp enough to slice through even her sturdy scales leaving several cuts littering Violet's body.
Still the freshly evolved beast lords did not back down. She turned into a whirlwind of claws and magic, tearing her way through the assulting hord of monstrosities.
Violet was not alone in her slaughter of the ants either though, for a second newly evolved beast was also present in this battle.
Luna had been working hard to get used to her abilities when in her beast form. It was a strange thing, to have lived your whole life standing on 2 legs to suddenly have 4. That was only the start of the changes really.
From her senses, physicality and even attitude, so much had changed with her evolution. Whilst it was surprisingly intuitive to now be on 4 legs, no doubt some implanted instincts she gained through the evolution process. What had bothered her was the change in her mindset.
Luna had found herself to be more ruthless in her actions and thoughts, when fighting she no longer cared to give a clean death to her foes. Instead she now relished the hunt and slowly seeing the light extinguishing from her prey. It was a frightening thing, feeling your values shift whilst being unable to dictate how they did so.
Still she could understand why this was happening. For Luna was no longer one of the enlightened, she was a beast. And beasts had intrinsically different values and morals, still she found herself resisting some of the changes.
Thankfully she had Violet there to help her, her companion had once more become a lifeline in the dark, her true source of comfort that helped her find the way that she thought she might be loosing.
Going through this process also solidified her feelings for the Void Dragon, she truly did love that silly murder dragon. And whilst some things may be changing that she was unsure about, she knew that so long as she had Violet by her side everything would be okay.
But, now was not the time for such thoughts, now she had a battle to take part in.
As she watched her companion dive into the centre of the monster ants formation, unleashing deviation upon their ranks, Luna found a ferocious smile splitter her lips.
So with primal ferocity, Luna charged forth into the side of the ant hord.
Every step she took her domain of ice expanded. It rushed forth to impact the closest ants.
The monsters legs froze to the ground, halting its movements and ensuring that it was unable to dodge Luna frontal charge.
The fur of her body was encased in ice crystals, each one razor sharp, providing a deadly defence against any foe foolish enough to try and grab her.
Two illusory copies of Luna appeared on either side of her, matching her speed as they charged forth. Ice spears began to form, spinning in place as they hovered above the heads of her illusions. Ready to strike at the spots her illusions struck.
When she was close enough Luna leapt into the air, crashing down on the immobilised ant before her. The monsters twisted shell was unable to withstand the force of her impact, being crushed under paw and unleashing a spray of icor around her.
The two illusions also arrived at their own opponents, as their claws swiped at the ants head, one of the floating ice spears shot forth. It impacted the monsters head at the same moment that her illusions claw did. It punched through the chitin covering its form and exploded out the other side. The figure of the ant twitched a single time before collapsing to the floor, dead.
Luna was instantly upon her next opponent, this time her jaw opened up and she bit down on one of the monsters flailing tentacles, with a swift shake of the head it was ripped off the being back to the sound of a skreech of pain. She did not let that continue, swiftly spinning around and bringing her tail to slice through the neck of the monster. The ice blade attached to the limb effortlessly slicing through the armour of the ant.
Then she took a step, appearing at another spot on the flank of the monsters. Tearing into the with primal grace, leaping from for to die with deadly efficiency.
The combined assult of two fourth tier beast lords sent the monster ants reeling.
Their already sloppy formation buckled under the combined assult, they were simply unable to contain the two powerfully beasts that appeared so suddenly.
Seeing this the assembled beasts, who had previously been barely holding on, suddenly surged forth. Fury shining in their eyes as they slaughter to repay their losses with the blood of their foes.
