As the debris dissipated Violet and Luna were able to see how much damage Violet's attack managed to achieve.

The monsters twisted shell now sported numerous cracks, several of its blade covered tentacles had been cleanly severed where the attack landed. But despite how impactful the attack looked, the Terror in question seemed to completely disregard the damage dealt to it.

It may be missing several of its tentacles, and its twisted shell may be cracked but the Terror itself just stood there, exuding an aura of menace as it glared hatfully at the whelp that dated to attack it.

Its companion took that moment to let loose a skreech of its own before barrelling forwards, uncaring of how many of its lesser brethren it crushed underfoot. The Orthrus however, did not seem willing to repeate its foes actions so it circled around, unleashing several elemental attacks of wind and lightning.

The larger soldier changed its heading and charged straight at its foe, eager to tear into the Storm Touched beast flesh. The two soon met in a mighty clash, the impact of their collisions sending anything nearby flying away. They exchanged a flurry of blows as both parties tested the strength of their opponent.

The Terrir that Violet's attack had hit did not wait long before it too began to move. Violet and Luna too did not waste any time and also moved, they mirrored the Orthrus, moved around their forces not wanting to get the rest of the beast involved in their battle.

Both Luna and Violet unleashed a barrage of attacks from range, bolts and spears of both void and ice were unleashed in the monsters direction. The creature in question seemed uncaring of their assult, simply swiping at them with freshly grown tentacles.

Whilst some of the attacks managed to get through the barrier of flailing limbs, most were stopped in their tracks and were destroyed by the strength of the creature. Those that did manage to get through its defence, did very little damage, even when one of violets upgraded spears landed, it only pierced a few centimetres into its shell before detonating, even then only superficial scratches appeared on its reinforced chitin.

This did not deter the two companions, for they knew from the start that this would be a truly dangerous fight, so they simply continued their attacks, content to simply continue to deal small amounts of damage.

When clear of the battlefield Luna charged straight forwards, Violet staying in the back to continue her magical attacks from a distance.

Luna's form split as two illusions formed besides her. They charged at the creature with spears of ice forming above the illusions, ready to deal true damage when the illusions struck.

When Luna got close enough she moved to its side whilst the illusions also split up, however, the Terror seemed to be instantly aware of which was the real one. It unairingly focused on the true Luna, turning to face her before bursting forwards with incredible speed.

Its razor sharp mandibles beginning to snap shut, eager to rend her body apart. Luna tried to dodge backwards, alarmed dat how fast the monster was. Still she knew that she would be unable to avoid this attack.she tried to rapidly grow a shield of ice only to wince as it was instantly shattered the moment it came in contact with the creatures attack.

Then a moment before the attack landed, several shields of void appeared, interposing themselves between Luna and the monsters mandibles. Accompanying them was a barrage of void bolts that struck the creatures head, slightly diverting its momentum.

Whilst Violet's shields also did not last more than a handful of moments, it proved just enough to allow for Luna's desperate escape from her impending death. The mandibles snapping shut meer inches away from her head.

As that was happening Luna's illusions did not halt their own attacks, both of them arriving at their intended location and striking out at the less protected joints of the Terrors legs. Whilst the illusions themselves could deal no damage, the spears of ice that mirrored their strikes could. So as the illusionary claws passed right through the joint of one of the beings legs, an ice spear punched straight into it.

The spears found much better success striking here than on the Terrors shell. The spears managing to pierce nearly half way through the joints. The monster in question let loose a scream of indignation mixed with a hint of pain at that attack. A dozen tentacles responded to its rage, striking down at both illusions with devastating speed.

The remaining spears besides the illusions shot forth at the encroaching limbs, some were shattered instantly, some cut shallow wounds into them, and some simply missed altogether. Regardless the limbs did now halt, they continued on and shattered the illusions in an instant.

With that momentary distraction Luna dove right back in, aiming to get close to its body to limit the effectiveness of its deadly mandibles. She dove under them and came up next to one of its front legs, the Terror slashed forth with it but she managed to move out of the way, extending her icy claws at the same time. However, instead of hitting the vulnerable joint her attack skidded off the hardened chitin that covered its leg.

Still she stuck close, dodging the legs that shot forth at her with frightening speed. She danced below the beast, moving with it as it tried to reposition itself to get another chance of biting her in half.

Whilst the monster was occupied with Luna up close, Violet did not relent in her attack from afar. Sending forth a constant barrage of void bolts and spears, these constantly kept the pressure up and ensured that the Terror was unable to utilise its tentacles for anything bar a near constant defence. During this she also threw in the occasional beam attack to slice through any of the more damaged limbs.

The monster seemed to lack any distinct ranged attack which was very much in Violet's favour, as she had near immunity to bombard her foe from afar.

But it was not enough, the creature was healing just as, if not faster than she could deal damage. New limbs sprouting from its back as the cracks in its shell slowly healed up. Even when she overcharged her spells they only dealt minorly more damage, her spears going from creating small cracks in the shell when they exploded, to just chipping minor parts of the shell away.

As she was slowly loosing the battle of attrition she pushed her multicast to its limit, her mind straining to produce all of the speed that she could. She also slowly worked on a second void cannon, its progress was painfully slow. Constantly being interrupted when she had to create shields to aid Luna. But progress was slowly being made on it. The line etching themselves into reality one stroke at a time.

The two companions were pushing themselves to the limit yet soon even that was not enough.

A crimson glow seeped out from under the monsters shell, its eyes gleaming in malice. Then, without warning it suddenly sped up.

Luna who was dodging the monsters legs whilst trying to slowly limit its mobility was suddenly struck by a leg that moved at a much greater speed than before. She was sent flying away to crash into a pile of rubble some distance away. All the air in her lungs was forced out of her in an instant and her front leg snapped with the impact.

Violet, seeing this hardly had a moment to react before the monster ant was suddenly right in front of her. Its mandibles open as it closed in for a strike. As they snapped shut she was forced to blink away, appearing dozens of meters away from it. But as soon as she reappeared the monster instantly located her and was once again charging in her direction.

Her void cannon was at the bare minimum charge but she was left with no alternative. As the creature closed in its mandibles once more open wide as it tried to cut her in two she unleashed her attack.

The mandibles closed shut with a resounding snap, followed a moment later by a boom as the void canon exploded in its face.
