Beast Evolution System: Devourer of Heaven

Chapter 147: Nameless Of Nightmares

Ved continued flying through the storm. Cold heavy winds hit him like hammers trying to bring him down.

The frost on his body grew, the cold started piecing through his scales and freezing his blood. His body started slowing down and he was losing a lot of energy rapidly.

Eventually he couldn't take it and landed, the snow on the ground was thick enough to bury a fully grown human.

Ved flapped his wings and blew the snow away, before it could gather he created a huge dome around himself using his wax.

Then made a fire using nuclear energy, the temperature inside the dome rose and the frosting on his scales disappeared.

He then made a thick carpet using his web and lay down. He felt strangely sleepy, it had been a while since he felt like sleeping, at his level, it was no longer necessary but he didn't resist and went to sleep.

His eyes closed slowly and he drifted into sleep, before that he used his dream mist to conjure and shape a nice dream for himself. In his dreams, he found himself floating in an endless darkness.

No matter which direction he turned all he saw was an endless darkness. Then his vision shifted, he found himself standing infront of a massive crystal sphere.

He could tell it was a sphere but it was endless in size, the closer he looked the more familiar the sphere looked.

Then it dawned on him, this was a universe, it looked exactly like the illustrations of the universe he had seen but he was looking at it from the outside.

He could see the spinning galaxies like massive vortexes. Vast nebulae lighting up space like beautiful paintings.

He could see the stars and the planets orbiting them as small as grains of sand. It was breathtaking, however the vision suddenly changed, the universe cracked.

The illusion broke, it beauty disappeared, all he saw next was an endless expense of dead stars and shattered planets.

The galaxies stopped spinning, the nebulas scattered like smoke. The universe was plunged into darkness. The surrounding darkness seeped through the cracks devouring everything within the universe.

Then suddenly in the endless darkness, more and more universes appeared, shattered and broken.

Their broken pieces slowly disappearing into the void as if being devoured. While Ved was lost in this dream, he suddenly felt something lurking behind him.

Something vast and dreadful. It presence made his soul shake with endless dread, a primal fear etched in his very blood bloomed inside him like a poisonous flower, the presence reeked of disgust, it gave off the stench of corruption beyond anything he had ever felt.

His instincts screamed at him not to move a muscle but his body moved on it own, no matter how hard he tried he couldn't stop it, it was out of his control then he turned and looked.

What he saw was an endless black mist, inside the mist there looked like there were souls trapped in agony trying to escape.

The moment he laid his eyes upon this mist his image came into being. The tree sprouted begin him, towering endlessly in the void, this time it was stronger than ever, more solid than he ever seen it.

It canopy dropped like an umbrella to shield him, even the dragon took action, which meant one thing, he was in imminent danger and death was coming.

Ved didn't know why his soul would instinctively activate his image until a moment later.

He heard the sound of something cracking. A familiar pain but much, much worse flooded his brain.

He almost blanked out but before he could, his divine spark lit up, it expanded and enveloped his soul protectively, the pain became less but his soul continued cracking and breaking.

Ved was forcefully ejected from the dream but before he left he heard a voice, "$#@&-+/&_$#*&###&&#$&$###&" he couldn't understand a word it said.

But the moment he heard it, he blanked out immediately, his mind almost shattered. The voice was vast and ancient, it power unfathomable powerful, Ved couldn't withstand it.

Unbeknownst to him, as soon as the voice spoke something else appeared and blocked off it influence or Ved would've died.

After some unknown time had passed he woke up, even his internal clock was screwed up.

Ved groaned,' What the hell was that?' he looked around the dome, it was still holding, the web carpet below him was still pristine.

However the nuclear fire had long gone out. Ved tried to organise his thoughts but his head felt like it was splitting apart.

Then he suddenly recieved a flood of information from his other avatars and he felt a new wave of fear.

' No wonder my image appeared.' from the memories he received, he learnt that the other avatars were effected as well.

Ved felt more scared now, over the years he had grown overconfident because he thought as long as one avatar remains in the minor world he would be safe.

But he had almost been killed by something he can't even understand, he tried to remember what he saw but he couldn't.

Everytime he tried he just felt a splitting headache and eventually he gave up. Fortunately the other avatars were closer to people who can offer help so they were in better situations.

Ved couldn't do anything right now, his soul had massive cracks running through it. He sighed and lay down.

The same went for the other avatars, it would take time for Ved to heal this level of soul damage.

He decided to check the system notifications he had. (WARNING: Host has gazed upon the true form of the nameless of nightmares €¥¢£¥^¢€£€¥¢.

Host has sustained significant soul damage, entering slumber.) He read the notification again,' The nameless?' he remembers the system mentioning something like that before.

The envoy, if he remembers correctly it was called the envoy of the nameless. ' Was it the subordinate of whatever I saw?'

He dismissed the idea, the system called that thing the nameless of Nightmares, which suggests there were other nameless, it was possible the envoy belonged to another.

When Ved thought about the possibility of more beings like that existing, he couldn't help but be terrified, he had a feeling the only way to survive would be to be strong enough, and right now he was not even close.

Then he remembered part of his dream, where he saw the dying universes or whatever they were and he wondered if that was really just a dream.

He remembered the feeling and it felt real, like something that is happening or will happen, a sort of premonition but if it was a premonition then hell, ' By Odin's eye we're fucked.'
