After a week Ved stood up and left. Although he still couldn't use any of his abilities or traits, using his body was not much of an issue as long as he doesn't exert himself too much.
He walked slowly on the snow leaving deep footprints behind. Winds howled around him but they were not as heavy as before.
After an entire week he had only covered less than a thousand kilometres but from the distance he saw something huge.
It was dark and sitting on the snow like a hill. He got closer and eventually it became clearer.
It was a seal, a massive seal over 200 metres long. The seal was merely a rank 3, Ved got closer but the seal still did not move.
Then he suddenly caught the scent of blood, he continued getting closer but he was a bit more cautious now.
Then he felt another aura, a rank 3 beast was nearby. Ved relaxed a little, even without his traits or abilities he could easily take care of a rank 3 beast.
Ved walked around the seal and saw a massive polar bear eating through it stomach.
Blood smeared across it entire face, it looked terrifying. The bear saw him and since Ved was wounded, his aura was unstable making it hard to tell how strong he was.
The bear growled and lunged at him, the snow exploded around it and flew in every direction like an avalanche.
Ved didn't panick, to his eyes the polar bear was ridiculously slow. He waited an agonising amount of time before it reached him.
Although it looked slow to him, everything happened in less than a second. Ved moved, his arm blurred and turned into a shadow.
Before the bear could even register his movements he slapped it across the face. Blood spurted out of it mouth and nose, it skull cracked and it died before it could even touch the ground.
With the beast dispatched, Ved started eating. The seal tasted terrible. Then he realised the problem, it wasn't that the seal was bad but he had gotten too used to eating cooked meat.
Most of them with spices so raw meat no longer tasted as good as it did before. He sighed, ' I've ruined my tongue haven't I?.'
Regardless, he closed his eyes and continued eating. He felt strength returning to his body.
It took him a while to finish the seal then he moved to the bear, it tasted even worse than the seal
After eating both of them and their cores he continued on his journey. And just like that time passed, every now and then he would create a shelter to hide from a storm and then continue on his journey.
Just like that, an entire year passed and his soul had healed by around 25 percent, which was a lot but it wasn't enough for him to use his traits or abilities. He sighed, ' This will be long won't it?'
The good thing is, his internal clock was back and he now knew how much time had passed and he actually spent 2 years unconscious after that dream before waking up.
Ved continued walking until a week later when he saw something strange a kilometre infront of him. A region 5 metres in diameter did not have any snow.
The falling snow did not reach the ground but disappeared into thin air 3 metres above the ground, Ved approached this place and stood infront of it contemplatively. ' Is this...a minor world?'

2 years prior
Naledi stood on top of a tall building watching the funeral below. She remembered the woman being buried today.
She was born around two decades after the fall, a child barely seventy years of age, she lived her entire life as a mortal with a short lifespan.
Naledi was close to a 130 years old now but she still looked like an early 20 years old woman and she had watched children much younger than her die of old age.
It left a terrible taste in her mouth but this was the truth of the world, although she had made vessel creation techniques much more accessible, it doesn't mean everybody could access them.
They were cheap not free and unfortunately not everybody would have enough money, she had tried to make them free but Aira, Cathra and others disagreed, saying it would create a sense of entitlement for the people which would wield the opposite results from what she wanted.
She had to agree, besides even if somebody had a vessel creation technique and a mental tempering technique, it doesn't mean they would be able to tame a vessel.
Since everybody is a mortal in the initial stage of awakening as a vessel holder, what matters the most is the density of ones will.
Unfortunately the truth was, most people don't have desires of beliefs strong enough. Not that they don't have desires or beliefs at all but they're not strong enough.
Ofcourse, it was possible to forcefully tame a low grade vessel if you have a much higher grade mental tempering technique even if your will density is low.
But most people lack both, strangely those people are usually the ones who live the most fulfilling lives, without much desires or beliefs, one had less burdens and this woman was one such person.
She got married, had children and grandchildren, her husband passed away two years ago, all three of her children became vessel holders.
All her grandchildren who had come of age also became vessel holders, in her finals days she looked happy. Naledi sighed, sometimes she envied people like them, at some point she too wished for that.
She turned around and walked off. Back in her house she sat cross legged and took a deep breath.
A small array disk appeared on her hand, she was about to activate it when somebody walked in.
It was Aira, Aira and the others had also reached rank 4 in the past 60 years. " Are you leaving?" She asked, Naledi nodded. " When are you coming back?" Naledi looked at Aira.
" I don't know, could be months, could be years." Aira nodded, " You should at least say goodbye to the others, you know Cat will be cranky if you just leave."
Naledi smiled, " Cat will be fine, besides I'm not the one who'll have to deal with her." Aira laughed softly.
" Oh that how it is?" They looked at each other for while without saying anything, there was no need. Eventually Naledi activated the array disk.
It floated up and spun above her head. Blue light cascaded down and enveloped her, " Tell Cat if she slacks off I'm going to leave her behind again." She knew Cat hated being an entire rank below her, she was very competitive.
Then she disappeared, she reappeared in a world of ice and snow where the winds howled like wounded beasts. She took a deep breath, the ice attributed essence energy in this minor world felt refreshing.
"By Dionysus wine this feel good, bet Alex would've said that." She whispered to herself then giggled.
