Beast Evolution System: Devourer of Heaven

Chapter 150: Long Awaited Meet

Naledi's POV

Naledi had been here for over two years now. This was her minor world where she got her inheritance.

The pure ice essence energy here made her cultivation faster, unfortunately she couldn't stay here forever and it took time for the teleportation array to fill up.

Which is why this time she chose to stay until her essence had reached saturation because she can't come back for atleast a few decades.

During these past two years she had been tempering herself, fighting every single day, unfortunately most beasts here were weaker than her, except one.

The leader of the Yeti clan, it was the only spiritual beast clan in this minor world. The Yeti leader was a rank 5 heaven grade spiritual beast.

Even with all of her strength and a much higher grade, breaching the gap between rank 4 and 5 was almost impossible.

Over the years she had fought him a few times. Right now she was going to face him again, probably for the last time before she reached rank 5 herself.

" Have you come to challenge me again human child?" Naledi looked at him, her eyes cold and her face emotionless.

In her response to his question she pointed her vessel at him. The Yeti was a kilometre tall, his body towered above her like a mountain.

A massive ice hammer appeared in his hand and he attacked first. The hammer descended like a meteor.

Naledi didn't dare try to block it, she retreated 5 kilometres away in a second. The hammer crashed on the ground.

A massive shockwave blasted out, cracks spread on the ice creating massive ravines that stretched for hundreds of kilometres.

The shockwave hit Naledi like a train, she created an ice wall to block it. Then with a wave of her sword, massive ice spears, hundreds of metres long appeared around her.

They shot towards the Yeti like streaks of light, he met them with his hammer, the ice spears shattered immediately.

Naledi clicked her tongue, she knew landing an attack on this guy would not be easy but watching him break her attacks so easily was still annoying.

He attacked with his hammer again, winds howled, a wave of ice cold wind hit her face before the hammer could even reach her.

Tens of giant ice hands grew from the ground and grabbed the descending hammer, she wasn't trying to stop it, she knew that wasn't possible, she was trying to buy time to dodge.

She did, the hammer slowed down for a split second, she used that chance to slid through the ice moving as fast as the wind.

The hammer hit the ground, broken ice flew through the air then froze. The ice stopped mid air for a moment then shot towards her like streaks of light.

Thousands of massive ice pieces flew towards her. She immediately activated her second phase, she no longer needed to stand still to do it, then she ran towards them, her body moved like she had no bones, weaving through the rain of ice like a weightless feather.

The Yeti looked impressed, they had fought multiple times and each time he looked more amazed by her power.

It should be mentioned that the difference between rank 4 and 5 was significant. For her to hold her own for so long against him was amazing.

After she weaved passed the ice, she lunged at him. Her body looked like a tiny dot against his, any sane person would tell her this was a stupid idea yet she did it.

The Yeti looked surprised, even he did not expect this. Her sword was covered by blue light, she had activated her soul force.

The temperature around her dropped even further. She slashed, a crescent blue slash flew at him like a wave.

The Yeti spun his hammer and used the shaft to block the slash. When they met, the slash exploded, massive ice spikes grew on the shaft where the slash landed.

The ice spread faster than they he could blink binding both his hands to the hammer. Before he could shatter the ice she arrived.

She kicked off the spikes, flapped her white wings and flew to his face and stabbed. Her body turned into a streak of blue light flying straight for his eye as large as buildings.

He didn't move nor block, her sword plunged into his eyes but the feeling of stabbing flesh and the blood did not occur.

Instead his body simply disappeared like smoke, she realised what she attacked was just an after image.

She felt an overwhelming sense of danger coming from above. Without even looking up she created a shield above her.

A hammer crashed on the shield, it barely held on for a split second before shattering into tiny fragments.

Just as it was about to hit her body, an image bloomed behind her, still incomplete and blurry, the image of an empress graced the world with it presence.

The hammer slowed down a little, then it hit her. A deafening soundwave spread out, her ears ringed and she coughed up blood. The world around her cracked.

The bones on her right arm shattered and she shot down like a streak of light. When she hit the ground, the ice broke creating a massive crater.

However what the Yeti did not notice was a tiny snow shuriken flying towards him. When it reached his side it expanded becoming hundreds of metres large in a split moment.

He had to time to react before it hit him on the face, a small wound appeared on his cheek.

He looked at her with surprise and admiration. " Is that enough little one?" The Yeti asked. Naledi covered her eyes, she couldn't continue this fight, that attack had damaged even her organs.

She tried to speak but just coughed up blood so she just nodded. The Yeti turned around and walked off but his voice reached her before his figure disappeared behind the curtain of a massive snowstorm.

" You've grown stronger little one, be proud." She smiled but it was nothing like her usual beautiful smile, her teeth were bloody and looked terrifying.

The Yeti was right, she felt it, her image has grown much stronger, the effect of that attack was much lower on her now and this was the first time she had managed to wound him.

She stood up and headed towards her palace. She was glad she had used the Yeti clan as her training partners.

They were smart, their leader was strong and due to an ancient oath with the first queen of snow, they couldn't kill a successor.

They couldn't be the first to attack her either, they could only retaliate if she attacks. It took her some time but she reached her palace.

Before she got in she froze, on the steps she saw a trail of frozen blood and she could hear heavy breathing inside, she held her vessel in her hand.

The moment she stepped in, she attacked without question.
