Angelica Belle sat crossed legged on top of a stone platform placed in the middle of an essence pool.
Dense blue mist of essence energy danced around her shrouding her figure. She had been in this minor world for over 60 years now but still looked like a young woman.
Afterall, rank 2 humans had an avarage lifespan of around 600 years, it was even possible to live a bit longer.
When she first got here, she was terrified and rightfully so, the beasts here wanted to tear her apart because they thought she was an ally of Vermillion but as time went by the more they welcomed her.
Especially when her hatred for that bastard Vermillion surpassed their own. To this day her heart blaze with fury when she remembers the scene of her father.
Her father Tony and his wife Luciana crucified like criminals simply because she defied Vermillion when he was clearly in the wrong.
Remembering that still hurt, very very much. She misses him, she misses both of them but she'll never see them again.
So her only goal now was to ensure the ones responsible pay, unfortunately she was too weak.
She spent the last 60 plus years practising the Golden Heaven mental tempering technique she received from the golden spear.
With that and her will which had been strengthened by her loss, she was confident in taming the spear spirit.
Not that she had a choise, it was her only chance at having her revenge. Unbeknownst to her, her hatred, her overwhelming desire for strength and revenge became her power.
It became the source of her will, making it much denser. Angelica sighed, what she was about to do was very dangerous.
A small mistake would lead to her death or at the very least being crippled. She was about to dissolve her cultivation, dropping herself back to a mere mortal.
It was the only way to tame and contract a new vessel. She closed her eyes and turned her focus within herself, on the pool of essence on her soul.
With a thought she attacked the essence pool, a wave of pain hit her but she gritted her teeth and continued.
Days passed and eventually the pool scattered, she felt her power dissipate rapidly.
In only a second she has dropped back to rank 1 and continued dropping. A few seconds later, all the essence inside her soul was gone.
The essence mist around her moved on it own, it was drawn inside her and stabilised her soul, preventing it from breaking down.
This is why being in a region with dense essence is fundamental for this. After her soul stabilized she stood up and left.
Today, she was going to tame the spear but she needed to adjust her mental state first. She went to town, to a small restaurant on the outer regions.
The food sold here was exclusively for those on a plane diet, no meat. Most of it customers were rabbits and other herbivores.
She ordered a green salad and an apple then started eating. Most beasts walked around in their humanoid forms which made her less awkward around them.
Well they still had animalistic part to them but that just made them look more beautiful for some reason.
After eating she left, nobody paid her any mind, they had accepted that she was the only human living here.
She went to her rented house, unfortunately she didn't earn enough to afford a house of her own, houses in Centre City were very expensive.
Then she sat down cross legged in her room, she was about to try and take the spear. " Are you ready girl?" The vessel spirit asked, visibly excited.
She nodded, a golden runic array appeared beneath her. This was called a vessel core array, it's what seperated a vessel from an artefact.
The array beneath her was a 5 layered array, meaning the vessel was a legendary vessel. The vessel's power dropped to match her's.
This was one disadvantage to an inherited vessel, it power would always drop to the same rank as it new holder but there was an upside to this.
The holder would grow faster than they normally would, it would be easier to break through rank barriers until they reach the vessel's former rank.
Then the spear floated infront of her, a thin golden string connected the two of them and they entered her mind space.
And so the battle of suppression began between a young woman and a spear vessel.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Naledi climbed the stairs, her vessel in her hand. She entered the palace and the first thing she saw was a massive creature around her throne.
As an empress she felt disrespected by this, her blood boiled with rage, what angered her the most was that the creature was draining the soul nourishing eternal ice energy in the throne.
That would've helped strengthen her soul and weaken the rank barrier, making it easier to break through to rank 5. Without another thought she attacked.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Ved felt great, this throne was amazing, using it alongside his natural soul regeneration sped up the healing process.
He was fully healed in only two months, a wound that should've taken years was healed in only two months.
If somebody told him this before, he would've not believed them. After healing he decided to check his status.

' Huh, what's happening?' Ved was confused then it dawned on him, perhaps it was because his avatars were separated.
Maybe he needs to be whole to start the evolution process. He was about to cancel the avatar trait when somebody walked in.
Ved froze, not knowing what to do, his mind just shut down when he saw her, a flood of memories appeared in his head but she didn't seem to recognise him.
She entered fuming, then she attacked. He didn't see her, she was too fast, faster than any rank 4 he had ever faced.
Before he could react her sword was already infront of his eyes then she stopped and looked at him.
Her eyes were filled with confusion and hope as she looked into his, " A..lex Is that you?"
