Naledi brushed his scales gently. " Alex, Alex calm down and talk to me." She continued gently brushing his scales, her voice soothing him, his anger subsided.

He sighed and calmed down then told her his grudge with Vermillion. Her voice grew cold " I see, that does sound like him. What do you plan to do?"

Ved looked at her and answered softly, ' I don't know,I can't fight him head on because as much as I hate to admit it, he's stronger than I am.'

She looked at him with a blank stare, " Do you want me to kill him for you?" Ved looked at her with surprise, the casualness she said that with shook him.

The Naledi he remembered wasn't a killer, she couldn't even hurt a fly, she was kind and soft, too soft if you ask him.

Yet here she was talking about killing a man without a hint of hesitation, even if he deserved it. This change made him sad, this cruel world had forced his Naledi to change.

He sighed and answered, ' No, it wouldn't look good on you if you did, killing one of the human leaders for a beast will not reflect well on you.'

She scoffed, " Do I look like a care what others think?" His eyes softened, ' I know you probably don't but knowing you, you probably want to create a safe haven for humanity no?

Well you can't do that on your own, you will need their help and for that, you must earn their trust.' she nodded, " Still I can't believe it was you I saw back then, I had my suspicions before."

' What do you mean? I haven't changed, I look exactly the same.' she looked at him, " No I'm pretty sure you were smaller." He giggled, ' Yeah I was wasn't I?'

They continued talking for a while then Ved stood up. " Where are you going?" Naledi asked.

' I'll be back soon.' Then he left, an hour later he came back with a massive moose. He skinned the moose and made fire.

Unfortunately this avatar didn't have any spices. " Oh you're cooking? Let me do it." Ved paused.

He turned slowly and looked at her, ' I.. that, it's fine I'll do it, it been a long time, let me spoil you.'

She shook her head, " No let me do it, besides, you're a dragon now, I doubt your claws are suited for the task."

Ved's body started shaking, he would be damned if he let her cook but he knew how stubborn and unwavering she was.

He knew fighting her on this was pointless but he had to try, for the sake of his tastebuds and stomach.

' No no no my lady, you just sit down and relax and let me take care of you, I promise next time I'll let you spoil me.'

" Really?" She asked excitedly, he nodded but he had zero intentions of keeping that promise, as long as they're together.

He would make sure to wake up before her and make breakfast. She sat down and he roasted the meat until it turned brown and golden juices squeezed out of it.

Ved created two white plates, one small and one very massive. Naledi pouted, " That's not fare, why is mine so small."

' Because I'm a dragon as large as small hill and you're dainty petite pretty lady.' she pointed at him accusatory.

" That's size discrimination, i didn't know you were such a person, how disappointing." She shook her head with disappointment.

Ved sighed and made her plate as large as his. ' If you fail to finish it, I'll be the one taking care of every meal from now on, deal?'

She glared at him suspiciously, " Why does it sound like you don't want me to be cooking?"

Ved almost choked, ' Whaaat, where's that coming from, I don't know what you're talking about. I just want to spoil my special lady because I love you."

She gave him a suspicious look, " I'll believe you this time." Then she agreed to his deal. Ved split the moose into two equal portions and they started eating.

He had expected her to be full after a few bites, it should be mentioned that this was a rank 3 beast, it was very nutritious.

A tiny bite could make a normal human feel bloated, it would probably take them a year to digest it with the help of elixirs.

The amount of energy in it would give them the physical attributes of a tiger at the peak of it prime plus they would be free of diseases and could live to a hundred years easily.

Yet unexpectedly, she was devouring it like a beast, in only a few minutes she was done with an entire leg twice her size and she didn't seem to be stopping soon.

With his massive size even larger than the entire moose, it didn't take long for him to finish his portion.

After eating half of her portion she stopped, her breathing was heavy and she was sweating. Her stomach looked bloated, she was obviously full.

'Do you need help finishing that?' a giant middle finger made of ice pointed at him. 'Shut up, let me rest a little I'll finish it.'

She used will transmission, she was too full to even speak. Steam and sweat poured out of her, Ved realised what she was doing immediately.

She was converting the meat into energy and nutrients while simultaneously burning away a massive amount of calories.

He was amazed that she even thought of using such an underhanded method. Where was the upright woman he remembered. ' Wait was she even upright?' he couldn't remember.

After a few minutes, she continued eating, Ved regretted not setting a time limit for the bet, he really didn't think she would be this eager to cook for him.

He expected her to give up and share her portion with him like she always did in his past life, she had always been a small eater, he expected her to still be the same.

He watched her eat the entire thing, when she was done, she slumped down, breathing heavily with sweat falling down her forehead.

' Wow, you actually finished it..greeaat.' he sounded forced. She smiled, " Prepare for a hearty meal made by yours truly."

Ved showed a forced smile, ' I can't wait.' night fell and they snuggled together, well it was more like Ved wrapped his massive body around her.

He didn't want to fall asleep but he did try to put her to sleep, that way he would have more time to prepare breakfast before she woke up.

Yet having her next to him made him relax more than he had in years. He suddenly fell asleep.

He woke up to a humming sound and the smell of burning flesh. When he opened his eyes he saw Naledi roasting a bird, there were a bunch of herbs next to her, he didn't even know where she got them.

His blood ran cold. " Oh you're up, good, try it." She gave him a piece of the meat. It looked green and deadly toxic, smoke that dried his throat just inhaling it rose from it.

Her cooking skill had miraculously gone worse. Not wanting to disappoint her and make this terrifying woman mad, he took it, he trusted his poison immunity would lessen the damage.
