After the agonising meal, he excused himself and flew out into the snow storm. His stomach hurt and rumbled like thunder. For the first time since he reincarnated he had to remove his bowels.

His stomach couldn't even digest what she gave him, that how deadly it was, he came back hours later. He looked at her. She was still slowly eating her bird with a happy smile. Ved wondered what was wrong with her tastebuds.

Just like that, they spent an entire year together. Talking, eating and training together, which was just him getting his ass handed to him.

However Ved couldn't help but worry and he could tell she felt the same. The two of them had been avoiding some important topics.

But they both knew they couldn't do it forever, eventually they would have to address them.

The most important being, how was this going to work? His member was larger than she was but he didn't dare breach that topic, instead he addressed another.

' Tell me the truth, if I said yes, were you really going to kill Vermillion?' she sighed, " When you told me what he did and when I remembered him attacking you I got really mad.

But he's still one of the leaders of humanity, he might be an asshole but he's crucial to humanities survival, perhaps the survival of the entire planet."

Ved sighed, ' So no?' he was disappointed even though he knew her answer was more reasonable.

" I have a feeling something huge is coming. Have you ever wondered how the past civilization collapsed, it had beings much stronger than us, literal Gods yet they still fell."

Ved sighed, he knew what she was talking about and he had a feeling the nameless were at the centre of everything. ' There are a lot of mysteries yet to be solved, my reincarnation being one but the most mysterious one is why you're so beautiful.'

She giggled then she asked him a question he had been dreading. " How do you think this will work? You're the king of beasts and I'm a human, not just any human but one of their leaders and we both know how our races feel about each other."

Ved sighed, ' I don't know, but we'll figure it out. Besides, why should we care about what others think.'

She gave him a side eye, " You're the one who once told me, I need the trust of my people if I'm going to be a leader, why has that changed?*

He grinned, ' I lied, we're strong, we could just punch anybody who disagrees and be done with it.'

She smiled," Not everything can be solved with fists you know?" ' Then the fist is just not big enough.'

She laughed, " You've changed from the Alex I knew, not just because you're 50 metres long, have scales and probably a massive di.."

' Woah woah woah, stop right there.' he stopped her before she could finish her sentence.

' First of all, it's not probably, it is massive, secondly, it had always been huge.' She touched her chin like she was reminiscing.

"Oh, I do remember telling you that to boost your confidence." Ved pouted, ' Let stop talking about this.'

She giggled, " Okay, I'm sorry, it was big, it was the biggest." Ved looked at her. ' Biggest? Who are you compa...'

" Shh shh, take the win." She closed his mouth. Ved sighed, atleast that playful part of her hadn't changed.

What he didn't know was that only three people knew this version of her including him.

The silence stretched between them, Ved realised she had successfully changed the topic again, she was trying to avoid it so he stopped pushing.

He decided, he would enjoy every second he spends with her and deal with everything later. However all good things come to an end.

Unfortunately she had to return to the outside world now, she had to go into seclusion to try and shatter the rank barrier.

Even though the outside world still can't support rank 5 beings, she had a feeling it was better to crack the barrier earlier and instincts for beings at their level meant something.

She could also break through here but then she wouldn't be able to leave until the outside world undergoes another evolution.

If something happens, she wouldn't be able to help, besides she still wouldn't be able to spend time with Ved since he also had to leave for his own breakthrough.

And just like that, their time together ended. " Alex, let meet at the river where we first had our picnic, 10 years from now."

10 years might've sounded like a lot before but to their current selves, it really wasn't. Ved marveled at the changes to their mentality.

Their perception of time has took a complete 180. The date they set was going to be around the next essence wave, when the world was about to undergo another evolution.

Although the system was yet to warn him about the next wave, he could instinctively feel it himself and it was going to be in about a decade.

She wanted to see him before then, before she ranked up to rank 5. Ved was conflicted, that meant he would have to hold back his own evolution until then.

She saw the hesitation in his eyes and figured he probably had a place to break through before then.

She sighed, she was about to tell him he doesn't have to when he agreed. She was surprised by this, " Are you sure?"

Ved smiled at her with his terrifyingly sharp teeth, ' Yes I am, it's fine, 10 years isn't a long time I can hold back my own evolution.'

She smiled, " I'm sorry." ' Don't be.' they spent a bit more time together then she disappeared in a shower of blue light.

Ved cancelled the avatar trait, all three avatars in the outside world disappeared and the three hearts reappeared in Ved 1 in the minor world.

He closed his eyes and digested all of the memories from the other three. He smiled when he saw all of the memories with Naledi.

" You look happy my lord." He looked at Avery, ' Do I?' " Yes my lord, I have never seen you smile so genuinely before, not even when talking to lady White."

' I see, I suppose I am happy, my avatar met an old friend, a very dear friend.' There was no change in Avery expression.

Ved was not surprised by this, she was always serious. " I see, I would love to meet this friend of yours."

' I doubt it.' Ved said in his head. Suddenly White busted into his room running. Her human form looked like a 17 year old girl with unnaturally pure white skin.

Long pure white hair cascaded down her shoulders, two rabbit ears on her head and blue eyes that flickered with lightning. She was dressed in pitch black warrior attire, she looked like a badass action movie star.

If movie starts looked like cute rabbits. " Bossi Bossi, do wanna play do you wanna play?" She excitedly punched the air.

Ved smiled at her, ' Maybe next time, I still have some things to take care of.' She looked dejected.

' Maybe Avery would do it, ask her.' He threw Avery under the bus. White turned her excited eyes to Avery who pushed up her glasses.

" It would be my honour to entertain lady White." " Yeaaaah" White shouted and they left Ved's room. Before leaving, Avery looked at him with tired eyes.

Left alone he checked his status.
