He continued trying to close the gate, a lightning bolt suddenly descended from above hitting him on the back.

However as the lightning courses through his body, his cells absorbed it and assimilated it into his own.

He gritted his teeth from the pain, although he managed to absorb and neutralise the lightning, it was made from essence energy.

Even with his improved resistance to essence energy, absorbing it was too much, it felt like drinking a cup of acid.

And as long as it remained inside him the pain will not end. So the lightning moved across his body like worms and gathered on his horns.

Then he fired it back to owner, the man was caught off guard and the bolt pierced throughout his chest and he fell below.

Before he hit the water a massive shark rose and bit him swallowing him whole. Ved growled at somebody stealing his evolution points but he let it go for now.

He turned his attention to the others, suddenly silver runic arrays appeared around him.

Before he could dodge, chains flew out of the arrays and bound his body. These were 4 layered 5 rings arrays.

Arrays in general tends to be stronger than other techniques of the same grade, even though these arrays were an entire grade below him.

It will still take some effort for him to break the chains, partly because there were too many of them.

However before then, he needed a way to deal with the people about to attack him. He watched as a sword so huge it pierced the sky descended upon him.

The sword split the sky apart causing space to bend around it. ' Spatial attribute.' he frowned.

Space was known to largely ignore physical defenses, even with the durability of his scales he won't be able to block this attack.

Not that it mattered, he will just regenerate, not to mention if he suffered this wound he will get the physical boost from his image.

And since he was using his entire self in this battle, he stood the risk of real death, so his actual image might manifest.

However it appeared he overestimated the sword slash or perhaps underestimated his own strength.

The sword barely managed to pierce a metre into his flesh. " Disappointing." He growled, the sword wielder started shaking.

His eyes wide with fear, it seems he now realised the difference in their power. " SNAP OUT OF IT." Shouted one of his comrades but it was too late.

Ved broke the chains and lunged at the man with his mouth wide open. By the time the man reacted he was already between his teeth.

" AHHHHHH." He screamed, Ved bit down killing him instantly. He spit his sword whose power kept dropping without it wielder.

That was the curse of vessels, until they developed a living spirit like the golden spear, their power would drop without their wielder and they would turn into a normal weapon.

Then he turned and glared at another opponent, the woman panicked and flew close to her comrades.

They all realised fighting together was the only chance they had. They now stood in groups and surrounded him.

He had to admit, whatever reason they wanted him dead for must've been pretty serious for so many races to work together so well.

More arrays appeared around him, however he sent a wave of nuclear power spreading out of his body.

The arrays crumbled before they could do anything. He fired thousands of nuclear blasts in their directions.

Blue flames covered the sky but he knew this was not enough. Nuclear blasts weren't powerful enough to hurt them unless they were caught off guard.

He fired lightning bolts behind them, they fired back sending floods of abilities his way but none posed any real threat to him.

The fight continued raging on, this entire time he was yet to use soul force while his opponents had, yet he was not at a disadvantage.

Infact he was the one pushing them back. Suddenly images bloomed decorating the sky like a gallery.

They were getting serious, he didn't care, not one person here was strong enough to need him to use his strongest form or abilities.

However he decided to try an ability he hadn't tried in a while since it couldn't keep up with the speed of his most recent fights.

His will spread out covering the entire battlefield, it confused their senses making it harder for them detect subtle shifts in will.

A female orc frowned, " Be careful, he's planning something." She tried to sense what he was doing to no avail.

Ved confusing their senses with his will was just him being overly cautious, people of this level would never be able to detect what he did.

After he did that he lunged at them faster than lightning. Their bodies turned into streak of light racing across the sky.

Shockwaves shook the world causing the sea below to churn. He frowned, the battlefield was filled with explosions of fire.

This weakened his poison ability significantly. He continued fighting while occasionally watching the battles of others.

The one who was most relaxed was Linglong even though she was facing many times more opponents than the rest of them.

She didn't even need regeneration like him, none of them could break through the barrier she casted around herself.

Bolt of lightning as thick as towers shot of her mouth occasionally, each time landing on it mark though they failed to kill their opponents as they were prepared for them.

Even so, those hit were bound to be wounded. Clouds appeared around her dancing like ropes and bound some of her enemies.

They crushed them into pulp, she had killed so many those fighting her were now hesitating to be the one to step forward first.

This led to a situation where they just floated there watching each other. Ved stopped paying attention to her.

He continued looking around the battlefield and things weren't as bad as he had expected them to be.

Suddenly the enemy army retreated, he was confused for a moment then felt whatever was keeping the gate open disappear.

He immediately used his control over the formation to fix the world barrier closing the gate.

Most enemies managed to get out but a few hundred rank 3 and under were left behind, they were killed shortly after.
