Beast Evolution System: Devourer of Heaven

Chapter 239: War continues (2)

An hour after the battle, the top experts amongst his people were gathered together, the rest of the surviving army was resting.

" That felt strangely easy." Nimue spoke first. Linglong nodded. " True, it was." Ved agreed with them.

" That's because it was a probe." They turned and looked at Avery. " That first attack was just to test the strength of our army.

Which is why your opponents were so weak." Her reasoning was sound, Ved thought the same.

" This means the next attack will be harder to deal with." He sighed, he knew most would die if not all of them.

However it's not like they had any other choice other than to fight. He stood up and created an avatar.

He didn't say anything to them and the avatar disappeared. They didn't ask him anything either.

His avatar appeared above the massive army and there were much much more than he thought there would be.

He could already count over one thousand projection realm experts, his face turned grim.

There was no way they could withstand this army. Worst still, he felt hundreds of opponents as strong as the leaders he fought before meaning they each had a divine spark.

However there were four who were even more powerful, they reminded him of Vermilion.

' Mythical grade.' the situation seemed worse than he thought. Ved looked at them considering what to do when somebody came flying towards them.

He whispered something to a Nephilim leader who said something to the others then they all looked up directly at him.

' Shit.' them a ray of light pierced through his lung, it would've been his heart had he not dodged.

He gritted his teeth from the pain, one avatar was not enough to deal with any of the leaders here let alone those with either a mythical grade bloodline or vessel.

He looked at the Nephilim who shot him then fired a beam of nuclear energy. A human simply raised his hand.

On his hand was a metal sphere, the sphere expanded and blocked the beam of nuclear energy.

Before Ved could react, massive roots and vines grew out of thin air around him, a beautiful female elf smiled at him.

The roots and vines bound his body and injected poison into his blood stream. He felt himself getting dizzy and slower.

He knew he wouldn't be able to last much longer so he created hundreds of thousands of fist sizes wax balls and dropped them.

The wax balls exploded with nuclear energy sending blue flames spreading out in every direction.

The flames were easily neutralised by a blue skinned alien race that seemed to control water.

They appeared aquatic but they were not the merfolk. Ved wasn't surprised nor disheartened by this.

He knew his little bombs wouldn't do anything to people like this, the point was to draw their attention to the explosions.

This situation told Ved they had a way to see through his stealth trait, 'An artefact or perhaps..' he looked up but didn't dare finish his thoughts.

The reason he did this was to hide his actual attack in plain sight, if they can see through the stealth trait then he wouldn't use it.

A few hundred wax balls continued falling, he was betting on the arrogance of the strong.

He hoped they wouldn't pay attention to those few wax balls, as expected. They continued falling towards the sea without anybody paying them any mind.

As they touched the water, some of them exploded evaporating the sea. A cloud of smoke floated above the sea for hundreds of kilometres.

The the remaining few cracked but nothing came out. Ved immediately cancelled his avatar trait and appeared back in his office.

He opened his massive golden eyes. ' Hope this works.' just like that, time passed, a funeral was held for those who fell.

Ved paid most of his attention to the world barrier doing his best to strengthen it. However they didn't try to open the gate again which confused him.

----------------------------------------------------------

" Sir, the world piercer will be ready in a week." Shouted a human carrying a massive formation plate to an old human with a long white beard.

The man he was talking to nodded, " Good, how long can you keep the gate open this time?"

The formation expect seemed to be contemplating something. " Hard to say, without interference, long enough but we can allow more people to pass through at once."

" Long enough? That is acceptable, acceptable indeed, good work." The old human with a long white beard said while stroking his beard.

The formation experts from all the different races worked together to make the world piercer formation stronger.

The higher ups were on their hills, they got wind of the spiritual beast sovereigns heading their way and urged them to finish this fast.

Even they were finding it hard to keep gates to this world closed, before the long the beast race will find a way in and it will be almost impossible for them to kill the beast king successor then.

They started working, the world piercer had accumulated enough power, this was a weakness they still couldn't fix.

Once used it had to accumulate space attribute essence on it own and that took too much time.

However it was full now, they placed it facing the direction of the minor world. The leading formation master raised his hand.

" Activate." The formation plate 5 metres in diameter lit up with purple light. The light traveled through formation lines drawn on the formation plate.

The runes started pulsing like hearts and the purple space essence energy gathered on the centre of the formation plate where a massive rune stood.

The rune lit up with blinding light, "FIRE." A beam of purple energy as thick as a fully grown human shot out towards the invisible minor world barrier.

Like a drill it started opening a hole on the world, slowly at first but it continued to speed up, the world gate grew larger rapidly then resistance started from within.

----------------------------------------------------------

Ved opened his eyes, it had been a year since that day, he was starting to wonder if they will even attack.

Them he felt an attack on the world barrier, without wasting a moment he urged the formation to close the opening hole to no avail.

Knowing the battle was about to continue he roared alerting his people.
