Heretic Trainer: The Gym Is My Cultivation Method

Chapter 285: The Breakthrough Came Late

Garion was alone in his room.

Then the air in front of him flickered.

A translucent screen appeared.

[All missions completed.]

Garion blinked.

"…What?"

He leaned forward slightly, eyes narrowing as if the words might change if he stared hard enough.

Another line appeared beneath it.

[God Gym upgrade available.]

Garion's eyes widened.

"Wait a minute," he muttered. "What do you mean all missions are completed?"

He rubbed his chin and started pacing slowly.

"I know the mission about pushing all my direct disciples into the Second Realm should have been finished days ago," he said to himself.

"That one's done."

He stopped walking.

"And the only mission left should be me entering the Third Realm."

He looked down at his hands.

"But I'm not in the Third Realm. I'd know if I was."

The screen flickered again.

[You have become Third Realm.]

Garion froze.

"…What?"

He stared at the screen, disbelief written all over his face.

"How?" he asked flatly. "When?"

The air shimmered beside the screen, and a thick book appeared.

It floated gently before landing in his hands.

Garion frowned and opened it.

The title burned into his vision.

[God Physique Cultivation Path]

His breathing slowed.

He flipped through the pages quickly until he reached the section he had been thinking about nonstop for days.

The Third Realm.

The [Living Domain Realm].

Garion stopped reading for a moment, then forced himself to slow down.

"…Alright," he said quietly. "Let's see."

He read the first passage carefully.

After awakening a Unique Physique, the cultivator does not force a breakthrough.

Garion's brows knit together.

Over the course of one week to one month, the physique naturally stabilizes and harmonizes with the body, causing the cultivator to automatically enter this realm.

"…Automatic," he repeated.

He continued reading.

As the realm forms, the space around the cultivator begins to subtly bend and respond to their presence.

Garion paused.

He looked around his room.

The air felt… different.

The Unique Physique radiates outward, influencing energy, matter, and even space itself, laying the foundation of a Living Domain.

Garion lowered the book slowly.

"…So that's what it is."

He leaned back against the wall and let out a long breath.

Then his brows slowly knit together.

"…Wait."

He straightened a little and looked down at the book again.

"It's already been over a month since I awakened my [Unique Physique]," he muttered.

"And my direct disciples reached the Second Realm days ago."

He tapped the book lightly with his finger. "By normal logic, the mission should have cleared back then."

Garion frowned.

"So why did the notification appear today?"

The screen in front of him flickered softly.

New text appeared.

[The Third Realm of the God Physique Cultivation Path was only completed today.]

Garion narrowed his eyes. "That still doesn't explain why."

Another line appeared beneath it.

[Completion required extraction and finalization of the cultivator's understanding of the Living Domain.]

Garion paused.

"…Extraction?" he repeated.

The screen continued.

[Over the past few days, you have actively conceptualized the nature, structure, and limits of the Living Domain Realm.]

Garion went quiet.

Memories surfaced immediately.

The way he kept thinking about how a body-based domain should work.

How it should not be something forced outward.

How it should exist naturally, because the body itself exists.

He had gone over it again and again in his head.

Refining it. Correcting it. Rejecting ideas that felt wrong.

The screen added another line.

[Only after this understanding stabilized did the realm finalize.]

Garion slowly nodded.

"…I see."

One last line appeared.

[This is also why the Third Realm was not achieved days ago, but today.]

Garion closed his eyes briefly and let out a quiet breath.

"So it wasn't just time," he said softly. "And it wasn't just strength."

He opened his eyes again. "It was understanding."

He pushed himself off the wall and stood upright.

"Now it makes sense."

Garion rolled his shoulders once, feeling the air around him respond just a little faster than before.

A small smirk appeared on his face.

"It's already night," he muttered. "Perfect timing."

He glanced toward the door, then toward the quiet window.

All of the disciples were now sleeping.

Garion clasped his hands together. "Alright."

He spoke softly, but his voice carried confidence. "Begin the upgrade."

The screen appeared again, glowing faintly in the dark.

[Confirm God Gym upgrade to Level Three?]

Garion nodded without hesitation. "Confirm."

Another message appeared.

[Upgrade will affect infrastructure, training systems, and domain integration.]

Garion raised an eyebrow. "Domain integration?"

He chuckled quietly. "Sounds promising."

He leaned closer and lowered his voice. "Make sure this doesn't wake anyone up."

The screen responded immediately.

[Silent upgrade mode engaged.]

Garion relaxed. "Good."

He stepped toward the center of the room and stood still, arms crossed, watching carefully.

Energy flowed smoothly, like a system adjusting itself.

Garion narrowed his eyes slightly, sensing it. "So this is how it works."

The space around him felt tighter.

"Don't rush," he said quietly, as if speaking to the Gym itself. "Optimize properly."

The glow from the screen softened, spreading outward in thin lines that vanished into the walls.

Garion smiled wider.

"I want this to be a surprise," he muttered.

"Especially for those idiots who think tomorrow will be normal."

He imagined the looks on their faces. The confusion. The excitement. The complaints.

His smirk deepened.

"God Gym Level Three," he said softly. "Let's see what you've got."

Outside his room, the God Gym slept peacefully.

Unaware that by morning, nothing would be the same.

---

Meanwhile, deep inside the forest, Arden and Dion came to a sudden stop.

Arden lifted a hand, signaling Dion to halt.

His brows were tightly furrowed, eyes scanning the dark trees around them.

"…Do you feel that?" Arden asked quietly.

Dion stopped beside him, his casual expression fading.

He closed his eyes for a moment, then slowly nodded. "Yeah. I do."

The air felt heavier than before.

Like something was pressing outward from deep within the forest.

"That wasn't there earlier," Dion said, his voice lower than usual. "Whatever it is… it's stronger now."

Arden could feel his heartbeat quickening. "This isn't normal demonic beast pressure."

Dion let out a short breath and smiled faintly. "So we finally found a clue."

Arden didn't smile back. "Be careful."

The forest remained silent.

But something was definitely watching.
