As the match progressed, the audience enjoyed it more and more. They didn't question how Aegon got anything. For them, this battle was getting more and more interesting, so they just enjoyed it.
But there were still a few who paid more attention to him.
'Brat, you kept me in the dark too,' Samuel thought, surprised by Aegon's performance.
Others were performing very well too. Nobody could deny that, but his performance overshadowed everything. Even Cali's ridiculous talent looked normal compared to his stuff.
Samuel tapped on the armrest as he soon got a report of what happened between Gabriel and Aegon. Even what Aegon did to return the favour.
His lips twitched the more he listened, as he couldn't help but think, 'He actually managed to make soaps that passed through checkings?'
This shocked him the most. Even if Aegon's soaps were special and held special properties, they could still be perceived as such and taken out during the checking.
The fact that he developed such soaps gave Samuel some weird ideas. Though, he mostly lamented that Aegon was using his talent in such useless things.
'But I guess that's fine too,' Samuel thought, his lips involuntarily tugging upwards. 'At least one Augustus is living normally.'
He continued watching. He wasn't really surprised to see Aegon defeating Gabriel. Even if he didn't know too much about his capabilities, he knew Aegon had more than enough things to defeat Gabriel.
'She needs more work on her commanding skills. Also, needs more rough experience to refine her mentality.' Samuel also noted stuff about other members, especially his granddaughter.
He also noticed Aegon's use of Ice and Eternal Flames, but he wasn't as surprised as others. After all, he was well aware of what happened back then, and Aegon had also informed him about his trait of Harmony.
The match dragged on, eventually reaching a phase where Aegon was ambushed by three opponents and died.
Down below Samuel's seat, the most important people of the Empire spectated everything. Even though they were still confused about Aegon's weird physique, they ignored it for the time being.
"Aegon will lose if he doesn't come up with something good," Amon said, rubbing his chin in amusement. "And I have a feeling he already came up with a plan."
"Huh? Why aren't they retreating?" Theon muttered in confusion. "Are they planning to destroy Ash Domain's base first? That's stupid and impossible."
"Let's wait and see what Young Master has planned," Rovan said, smiling. "This was done intentionally."
"His plan is to defend the base alone," Arthur said, frowning. "But how?"
Soon, Aegon floated out of the barrier, carrying a small sphere in his hand. Liliana recognised it instantly, as she muttered, "Rank 4 Spell..."
"What a... Prodigy!" High Duke Lannister mumbled in shock. "Rank 4 Spells at just the age of sixteen."
They stopped breathing when Aegon activated the spell, letting a giant meteor fall on the battlefield.
"I have no words left."
All High Dukes gave up on saying anything. They felt their worldviews were changing every time they watched Aegon do something.
Everything was just plain ridiculous.
"Watch carefully!" Amon smiled. "You're watching the rise of the Greatest Prodigy to ever live."
"Really? Nobody managed to get such feats before?" Arthur asked, a little confused. "Surely there have been some people casting high rank spells in their young years."
"What you're forgetting is that he follows all three pathways," Liliana said, having a bright smile on her face that dazed them. "And he's also a RuneMaster, right?"
"You caught on?" Amon chuckled. "Yes. He's a RuneMaster too. This is why I call him the greatest prodigy to ever live. Today, the world shall witness his first proper display of talent."
"Calling him Prodigy is an understatement," Rovan shook his head, disbelief along with clear happiness on his face. "House Valeria has records of the world even a hundred thousand years old. None has lived with talent comparable to my Young Master."
"But this isn't enough," Liliana said, interrupting their conversation as she pointed at the screen. "They're still alive."
"Of course they are. The Princess won't go down so easily," Arthur sighed, feeling his heart beating much faster today because of Aegon. "Now, what will you do, child?"
They were still far away from the victory, so unless Aegon had something more ridiculous, they wouldn't win. It seemed impossible with his exhausted state, but Arthur was more than familiar with his own blood.
They fought the best at their lowest.
His hand clenched below his seat, as he thought, 'Show them, Aegon.'
Even the Sanctum had turned eerily silent, as everyone watched the last moments with bated breaths. It was so silent that even a single sentence from someone echoed in the audience.
"Aegon! Are! You! Finished?"
As if responding to those words, Aegon laughed and said something which brought hope to everyone's heart, but also something else.
Perhaps it was fear. Fear that Aegon had something much more terrifying in his arsenal.
Just then, the whole Sanctum shook as the veins on the crimson walls stopped pulsating for a second before everything returned to normal.
Everyone got confused, but a few paid attention to the abnormality because they noticed a bluish aura around Aegon.
"What is that?" Liliana stood up, her face showing pure shock. "Why... how?"
"The Dead God actually reacted!" Amon's face turned somber, as he took off his monocle and scanned the surroundings. "This has never happened in thousands of years."
"Then... Aegon?" Arthur asked, every word slipping from his tongue in disbelief.
"Lady Liliana! What is that Aura?" Amon asked, losing his composure. "Please tell me. This concerns my Academy's safety."
Liliana hurriedly composed herself and replied, "Fear not. It was just resonance with similar Path. That aura... it's just what Aegon said."
"Immortality?" Amon muttered out the sage words, as he focused back on the screen, only to see Aegon demolishing the whole team effortlessly. "No way, right? This is impossible!"
"That aura... whatever it is... has cut Aegon from the concept of death. I can't sense it anymore." Liliana said, her voice still carrying a tinge of shock. "We need to talk with Father. Aegon might be in danger."
"Let's go!" Arthur said, jumping to his feet.
"You're going to meet Ser Arnold?" High Duke Lannister raised an eyebrow.
"My child's life matters more than anything else," Arthur said, his voice carrying his desperation. "I won't let the past repeat itself, even if I have to go against my own father."
