10x Rewards: Becoming Invincible With My Sign-in System

Chapter 224: Supplies

It was decided that Aegon and Liliana would spend the next few days in the treasury to decipher the journal. It wouldn't be an issue normally, as Mages could use their Mana to sustain themselves for a long time.

But they were inside a domain which made them mundane. They needed everything a normal human would need for camping for days. There were a few more things that needed to be taken care of before they actually immersed themselves in the job.

So, Aegon decided to go out to complete those tasks and also bring the necessary supplies there while Liliana worked on checking the journal for any dangerous elements.

Aegon was concerned for her safety, but she reassured him, saying that she had prepared many methods to deal with such situations. Only then did Aegon feel that he could leave her alone with that dangerous thing.

He went back the way he came inside the treasury. The moment he passed through the barrier, he suddenly felt overwhelmed by a mighty presence as all of his surroundings grew a bit darker and colder, as if hell itself had descended on him.

Just as he prepared to summon counterattacks, he heard a familiar voice echoing in his mind.

[Boss?]

He paused. "Hecte? Why are you attacking me?"

[Are you safe? Nothing happened to you, right?]

He blinked in confusion. "What are you talking about?"

Wasn't she with him the whole time? What happened so suddenly?

[You don't know? The moment you entered that disgusting barrier, I was forced out of your shadow. I was so worried.]

"Ohh!" Aegon finally understood where all the confusion came from. "Ah! My bad! I forgot about you in my excitement. Really sorry."

[If it was anywhere else, I wouldn't be so worried, but this time Amon was involved. I almost called Chief for help.]

"You guys really don't trust him, huh."

Not that he couldn't understand them, since even he didn't trust him. He scratched his chin and said, "It's probably because the domain rejected your form and the Dean also didn't give you an entry permit."

[Whatever. As long as you're safe, it doesn't matter.]

He climbed out and found himself standing back in the familiar hut. Dusting off his hands, he said, "The domain made me mundane, so I didn't sense the abnormalities in my shadows. I sensed nothing at all, actually."

[That's understandable, then.]

He could feel relief in her voice and felt guilty for overlooking her presence in his excitement. He knew his value in her life, so the sudden development must have worried her to death.

The fact that she almost called Xiu spoke volumes of her worries, as she was usually very prideful and did everything herself.

"I'm sorry, Hecte. I'll make sure not to worry you from next time," Aegon said with full sincerity.

[As long as you know.]

He smiled and said, "Also, I might have to spend more days there, so you're on a vacation now."

[Is that an order?]

"Huh? Obviously no."

[Then I'll stand guard here.]

Aegon was speechless, but he also knew she wouldn't budge from this decision unless he commanded it. And he didn't like doing that unless it was necessary.

He shook his head and called Amon again. Fortunately, this time the Dean picked up, and he could relay the information to him and ask for permission to stay inside the treasury for a few days.

Amon had no issue with this since he trusted Liliana for this part and also looked forward to Aegon's invention.

"Well, one problem solved at least," Aegon was pleased. "Now for the supplies... Xiu might be busy with Cali, so Hecte, can you have someone bring me enough supplies to camp for a few days?"

[Taking into account that you'll be mundane?]

"Yup, and make it for two because Senior is also there helping me."

[...On it.]

While she was gathering supplies for him along with the rest of Red Viel, Aegon contacted the few important people in his life to let them know of his plans.

None of them had an issue. Xiu even said she expected it because of how similar Liliana and he were, so she gave the green light easily. Though, Elara didn't sound pleased to hear that.

'Who will? Tsk! Right after confession, I'm disappearing for days. What kind of boyfriend am I?'

Even he was disappointed with himself, but this was work that needed priority too, so he promised Elara a beautiful date once he was done here.

Only then did she sound pleased.

[Boss, how does it feel to be mundane again?]

"Hmm. Very strange," Aegon said after thinking for a moment. "Once you get used to power, it feels burdensome to be normal again. But it's fine too. It feels a bit liberating, as if I don't have any responsibilities or anything."

[I see. Well, I prefer this form, so I hope I never become mundane.]

Aegon could only laugh at that.

Then, he thought about something and asked his system, 'Yo, does the domain not work on you? What even are you?'

[Host's mind has also turned mundane, it seems, as you are asking silly questions.]

'Can I have the personality change button?'

[Forgive me. For your question, yes, the domain doesn't work on me for various reasons even I am unaware of. As for what I am? Simply put, I am a system. Beyond that? My knowledge limit is the same as the host's.]

'Hmm, I hope I can find out more about you one day.'

[Host, you just experienced how knowledge can be dangerous, and you still wish to find out more about me?]

'I don't see a problem. There are dangers in everything. Heck, you might trip, fall, and break your neck if you walk, so does that mean you'll stop walking? You just need to learn not to fall. I'll do the same before trying to gain that knowledge.'

Aegon turned towards the stairs and asked, 'By the way, will my abilities work there? I mean, I got them from you, after all.'

[Perhaps. It depends on the rank, so your eyes should work. Other than that? I have no clue.]

'What about [Universal Language]?'

[While it was a skill, it is basically knowledge already consumed by your brain, so it'll work.]

'That's better.'
