Martin stood alone at his backyard, his expression serene. His mind constantly ruminated on the information given to him by Toji.
'Killing a Fourth-Level Creature…'
It seemed unbelievable, yet not. His team had also killed third-level evolved several times, before they had enough crystals to buy a third-level evolution potion. Still, there was a difference.
Casualties.
During the hunt, several of his warriors had died. However, Toji claimed that the Red Wings had killed the Fourth-Level creature without anyone dying. This was shocking! Naturally, Toji didn't mention anything about Sophia's monstrous change and the fact that she had almost killed a Red Wings member.
He himself didn't know anything about what happened, and couldn't tell Martin. If any sane person heard this, they would instantly chase them away. After all, there was no guarantee that there wasn't another parasite among them.
Unaware of this, Martin remembered the one encounter he had with the Red Wings. Hearing that a powerful faction was growing in Night Veil City, he had ventured there himself. However, he wasn't even allowed to get close, as he could feel several penetrating gazes on him from the distance. Although he was confident in his strength, he didn't want to make unnecessary enemies.
Now, hearing about their ability to kill a Fourth-Level Creature, he was relieved.
'Thank goodness I didn't push my luck.'
A soft wind caressed his face, ruffling his brown hair slightly. There was no scent of smoke, nor the sound of car engines roaring anymore. Instead, everything had been replaced by the faint scent of blood and distant roars of zombies.
"Fourth-Level."
His eyes snapped open, and shone with a determined glint. He had initially thought that the Third-Level Evolution realm was the highest. However, now that he learnt of the Fourth-Level, he was determined to reach it.
"No matter what… even if there is a Hundredth-Level, I'll rise to the top! I'll purge this world of all evil, and bring peace!"
...
The next day arrived swiftly, and every capable evolved were gathered at the gates of the sturdy makeshift walls. They numbered more than a hundred, since Toji and other small groups around the city had joined.
Clad in a thick silver armor, Martin faced everyone with his hands behind his back.
"Everyone! Today is the day! The day we deliver Windsor, our refuge, from the hands of those vicious zombies! Follow my lead, as we reclaim the world, our world!"
His words were like sparks, igniting the fire of battle in every evolved. This was their home planet, where they lived, loved, and cherished. When the apocalypse began, they had all lost something valuable, either family, or wealth. Amongst those that had gathered, there were previous businessmen, security guards, police officers, ordinary students, mother's, and even beggars. Now, their rage for the sudden change of the world was directed towards these zombies.
"Kill!"
"Slaughter them all!"
"Reclaim our land!"
Under Martin's lead, they charged into the zombies territory, immediately causing a massive slaughter. The zombies were naturally mindless and didn't hesitate to attack the humans. The scent of blood quickly filled the air, followed by cries and roars of those fighting.
A female evolved ruthlessly chopped the body of a zombie with her knives, but was immediately killed by a stronger zombie. Seeing her die, another evolved who was secretly in love with her charged at the zombie, then bravely killed it.
At another side, an evolved spat a glob of purple liquid, which quickly corroded the flesh of nearby zombies. Not far away, a zombie flicked its nails, stabbing into several evolved who were around.
Such scenarios occured everywhere, and the battle continued to stretch.
Martin, Toji, and a few other third-level evolved bravely advanced deeper into the horde, determined to locate the Zombie Kings. Occasionally, they were intercepted by a few third-level zombies, however, they would quickly combine their strength and kill the zombie.
While the first-level and second-level evolved handled the zombie horde's cannon fodder, they sought out to eliminate the leaders of the horde.
After around ten minutes, they finally came across the two Zombie Kings. The two Zombie Kings were special zombies. One of them was two-feet-tall, with its body entirely green. It looked like a familiar hero from a certain movie show. The other one was smaller, the size of a normal human. However, its forearms were encased in red gauntlets that seemed to be part of its skin. Its head was bald, only having a single red feather sprout on it.
The two zombies stared at the group of humans with a cunning glint in their eyes. After reaching the third-level, their intelligence had recovered a little, and they could control their inherent madness a little.
Seeing Martin's group, they understood their intentions of killing. Naturally, any human would retreat when at a disadvantage. However, the zombies were no longer humans. Although their intelligence suppressed their madness, it couldn't stop it. Faced with enemies, they chose to fight too!
ROAR!
Their roars overlapped, spreading through the horde. The other zombies released their own roars, instantly becoming more ferocious! Several evolved immediately perished. However, the humans weren't deterred. Today, they were determined to wipe out these zombies.
Myriads of attributes scattered in the air, reaping the lives of hundreds of zombies. The causality rate instantly skyrocketed, dead bodies falling to the ground in heaps.
Martin held his spear tightly, his eyes calm.
"You all hold down that Hulk Zombie. I'll handle the Blood Zombie first."
Toji and the others immediately agreed. Martin was strong, and he definitely had the confidence to deal with the Blood Zombie.
"You're mine!"
He bellowed, then charged at the Blood Zombie. Seeing that familiar evolved rushing at it, the zombie's mouth curled to reveal yellow fangs. It stretched its arms forward, and a fountain of blood suddenly sprayed from its fists.
Familiar with this attack, Martin was unfazed. He spun the spear, deflecting the attack immediately, then, his eyes shone with a golden light!

To a writer, it's a really heartbreaking situation. I can only hope that this novel gets the attention of invested readers with God's grace. Nevertheless, I'll do my best to complete the book.
