Apocalypse: Inhuman Ascension

Chapter 83: Killing the Zombie Kings (2)

Class Cards came in different grades. The lowest were normal ranked classes while the highest were divine ranked classes. There was a reason for this, as the power output of the class ranks differed greatly. A divine class's attribute was several times more potent than a normal class's attribute.

Amelia Rose's Ice Warlock class was at the Rare rank, and its potency was high, able to freeze wounds dealt on the enemies. Professor Oliver's Lightning God class was even more fearsome, capable of creating an AOE attack with high lethality. Still, it was just a Legendary ranked class, a step below the Divine rank.

Today however, a Divine ranked class's attribute was displayed in full splendor.

Living Flash!

His eyes shone, and two beams of golden light struck the Blood Zombie King. The attack lasted for five breaths, its brilliance and might so dazzling that the surrounding battle paused temporarily.

Roar!

When the attack receded, the zombie roared in agony, its chest sporting two new holes. That attack alone could have killed it, however, it had controlled the blood on its arms to form a crude breastplate. The blood armor resisted the attack slightly, but was destroyed. Now, the zombie had gained two more injuries on it as a result.

Nearby, Toji's eyes narrowed. Anytime he saw that attack, he always felt a hint of fear. What if Martin suddenly turned against him and attacked? Could he defend against that? Absolutely not!

He didn't even have a proper three-star armor. After surrendering his equipments to Daddy Ye, he had nothing on him. Even the weapons he was using came from Martin.

Secretly, he sighed in relief. It was good that he hadn't tried finding trouble with this Revolutionaries Evolved Camp.

Shaking off those thoughts, he refocused on the battle before him. Five third-level evolved were facing the Hulk Zombie King, holding it at bay. The remaining five evolved were busy fighting against the remaining third-level zombies.

The green zombie was extremely strong, capable of crushing several cars with a simple punch. Its massive frame towered above its opponents, an expression of pure fury on its face.

"Die!"

One third-level evolved shouted, swinging his heavy sword at the green zombie. It simply raised its left hand, blocking the attack while receiving a light scratch. The sight frustrated the other third-level evolved humans, but they could only grit their teeth and attack.

Apart from its immense strength, the Hulk Zombie King was famous for its defense. Ordinary three-star weapons could only leave light injuries on its skin. This made it incredibly difficult to kill.

Bang!

A streak of red and gold flew over, accompanied by the sound of a brutal hit. Martin and the Blood Zombie King were still engaged in combat, trading blows after blows. Unlike the Hulk Zombie King who relied on its brute strength and unparalleled defense, the Blood Zombie King was more crafty. Its intelligence was a bit higher, and it knew how to make deadly attacks.

Four blood discs shot at Martin, making his expression harden. He skillfully parried three attacks, then tanked the last one.

"Golden Fortress!"

A dull gold armor materialized around him, merging with his own armor and giving it a dark luster. The blood disc impacted the armor, but could only helplessly dissolve. Against a Divine ranked class's attribute, it could do nothing.

Grrr!

The Blood Zombie King already had several injuries on its body, and blood continuously flowed from within despite its attempts to stop it.

"For the sake of humanity, DIE!"

Martin shouted, then suddenly moved. He was like a golden blur, so fast that few could perceive his speed. He arrived before the Blood Zombie King, then ruthlessly swung his sword.

The Zombie's pitch black eyes were widened like saucers as it felt the grasp of death coming closer. It desperately wanted to escape or block, however, the hesitation of choice made it unable to react.

Shlick!

The sword cut through flesh like butter, and a blood fountain immediately sprouted. Seeing the Blood Zombie King die, many evolved sighed in relief. With one of the Zombie Kings dead, they were halfway done with their goal—eliminate the two Zombie Kings.

ROOOAAARRR!!!

Sensing its companions death, the Hulk Zombie King howled in anger, immediately launching an all-out attack on the five evolved humans surrounding it. Its strength was unmatched, forcing them several steps back with each swing of its.

Martin didn't pause. Immediately after killing the Blood Zombie King, he turned to face the only troublesome creature remaining.

'Hulk Zombie King…'

Keeping his anxiety behind a focused facade, he joined in fighting the zombie. Divine rank classes, although had great potential, consumed large amount of essence. In fighting the Blood Zombie King, Martin had used up over 40% of his essence reserves.

Although the deceased Blood Zombie King was craftier, the Hulk Zombie King was even more troublesome. It was a brute, and would not cower from strong attacks. Earlier, it had taken five third-level evolved humans to restrain it. This showed just how strong the zombie was.

"Fuck! Why is its defense so high? Feels like I'm hacking a wall with a spoon!"

One of them complained, almost falling over from the zombie's counterattack. Although the others didn't reply, they felt a sense of depression in their hearts. How could such a monster exist? However, this was just the horror of a Zombie King. Zombie Kings weren't called Kings for nothing. In a specific region, they had the capability of dominating the entire territory with their strength. In that region, they were the true Apex Predators!

The Granny Zombie King that Leon had fought in the past was like this. If Leon hadn't been what he was, he would have suffered a crushing defeat from her, especially when his level was lower than hers. Also, the zombie was just growing, yet to unravel its true prowess. Thankfully, Leon had defeated it quite early, eliminating a future threat.

Here however, they had to face a fully matured Zombie King.

Martin hurriedly returned to join them, his expression slightly pale. The use of several attributes was taxing on the human body.

'I don't care… I'll kill them all…'
