Trisha observed the description over and over again, falling in love as many times as she read it. This was perfect for her class, which was pretty fragile against monsters. Even though it does not make her a tank, she was still strong enough to take as much damage as an average Combat Class before dying down.
"Miss?" G asked, his eyes filled with concern.
Turning to him, Trisha gave a calm smile before showing the rewards she had just received. Just like Blaze, she decided not to hide it, making the other party members excited about the rewards which they would receive.
The stream looked at the party members with jealousy, saying that they were just leeching off Ezekiel and were nothing more than a burden.
However, Trisha wasn't triggered. Just like Blaze, she also questioned about the whole thing from another perspective. The fact that Ezekiel did not need to help them out, and the fact that he could have done everything by himself, and even got all these cool rewards rather than giving them to them.
Though unlike Blaze, who was quiet about the whole thing…
"Boss. Why are you helping us so much?" She was blunt.
She did not like favours. Though that went the same for any other person within this party, as all those here were preparing to return it one way or another in the future. But as for Trisha, she liked to keep things direct.
Things like hidden meaning, or secrets, or perhaps a hidden purpose were something she hated. Favours without any reason were the worst.
Ezekiel looked at her, as if already knowing that this question would come, and answered without any hesitation on his face,
"To prepare for the unknown. This temple, as written in the diary, has many paths that one cannot cross alone. Will it take two people to do it? Three? Or perhaps more, I have no idea. So I brought you all along for the situations where I cannot do things by myself."
"That still doesn't explain why you are not taking the rewards, even letting us take them first," Trisha added, her eyes narrowing at Ezekiel. Somehow, this 'charity' felt far too suspicious to her.
"It's not that. Honestly, if I were to, I would have taken most of the rewards I could here before letting you all take the rest of it. I am pretty sure you won't mind it too," he added, to which the party members nodded. Then he pondered for a few seconds before saying,
"But here is the thing. Each person can take only one of the rewards in the Garden. It's one of the rules of this Garden. Even if I want to, I won't be able to take all of it. Hence, instead of taking the best one first, I decided to let you all have one reward each before finally moving to take mine."
Though still suspicious, Trisha slowly nodded at Ezekiel. There were questions lingering in her mind, like why not take your rewards first or why are you choosing for us, but in the end, a few seconds of reflection were enough to find the answers to her questions.
I am not exactly losing anything here. She concluded in the end, before calming down and then turning to Ezekiel once more,
"Thank you, Boss. While it may not be much, if there is anything I can help you with, please feel free to ask. Ah! And it's not limited just to the game. If you want to, you can get in touch with me in real life as well. I will give you a contact when you ask me to."
Though G did not like the idea, he could not go against her and simply watch from a distance.
"Sure," Ezekiel nodded before looking at the rest of the party. Then, as if pondering whom to choose, he took his time looking at the members before finally focusing on Raven as he said,
"Raven, come here."
As Raven reached closer to him, Ezekiel began explaining a bunch of things to her. Trisha and the others looked at him, teaching her a few strange words and their meaning, which she was learning with as much seriousness as she could.
Is he teaching her that Ancient Language?!! Trisha was alarmed as she saw him teaching Raven the few words, almost ready to jump in there and learn them herself, too. This was the most powerful tool that Ezekiel had, and it was no secret that everyone on the continent wanted to learn it without exception.
Even within her house, there was talk of it being so important that many nobles were now actively searching for its records throughout Arcadia. And yet, not a single one of them was able to find the right source to learn the language, even after pouring their all into it.
"Can you do that without any mistakes?" Ezekiel finally finished his explanation, asked, wondering if he should repeat the instruction, but Raven nodded, saying that it was fine. And then, under the gaze of everyone present here, she began walking towards the garden where grape vines were heavily dense.
