Zeke shot back at her.
They were strong, but against up to a thousand Undead Goats!? Even they would barely survive by the skin of their teeth.
And to have run across such a problem in such a gullible way was only further annoying.
"Geez," Penelope mused.
"Really should have controlled yourself, Penelope." The last person on the team, a black haired, lanky guy, the second tallest in their group, said quietly to her.
But then her palms opened, and Everlearn caught sight of the object.
It was an earring, one that looked exceptional at first sight.
It seemed to have been crafted from crimson-red gems that caught the light, scattering it into floating motes of red that lingered in the air around it.
"Gotta say, it's worth it, though."
"You think this would be going for anything less than a Million Nvdollars, ey Van?"
She asked, glancing at the lanky guy who shrugged his shoulders, seemingly uninterested.
But then,
CLAAATTTERR!
CLAAATTTERR!
CLAAATTTERR!
The sound of bones clattering rang out through the area as they all turned their gaze downwards.
Upon the ground were the goats, their jaws clattering together.
All thousand of them were looking straight at Penelope, or rather, at the earring in her hands.
It was obvious they wanted that thing back.
As for how badly they did, the group found out in the next moment.
The goats stopped ramming their horns against the wall and instead began to gather together, running in a wide circle.
"What are they doing?" Zeke muttered, looking at all of the goats running around in formation.
The second they did that, the circular space left in their center suddenly began to glow.
A halo of circular runes appeared on the ground, and all of a sudden,
VROOOOOOOM!
A tempest of air rushed out from the runic circle, exuding a powerful dragging force that began to drag in the running goats.
It was like a typhoon of thick white mist, and with narrowed eyes, they all watched as the goats were dragged into the typhoon, which seemed to grow even stronger.
Ten seconds after the last goat was pulled in, white lightning began to flash through the tempest, and then something pierced out.
A horn, white as snow.
In the next moment, the typhoon quelled, leaving just one thing in its place, something that made all of their eyes bulge in shock.
It was a humanoid creature, immensely tall, towering at nearly five hundred meters in height!
It had the body of a humanoid formed entirely of bones, but its head was elongated like that of a goat.
Above its head were not two, but four massive horns crackling with white lightning.
It stood on two powerful legs ending in hooves, also crackling with white lightning.
Instead of hands, its limbs ended in massive white claws, similarly blazing with lightning.
Its skull-like face had hollow sockets burning with white fire that crackled out lightning as it stared down at all five of them hanging on the wall.
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAR!
A fearsome roar thundered, a powerful rush of air slamming into all five, and pinning them hard against the wall, though none dared to close their eyes.
Everlearn couldn't believe it.
All of the goats had combined into one, leaving this hulking abomination in their place.
"Just what the fuck did you guys do!?" he screamed out, but in the next moment,
BOOOOOOOOOM!
The wall shook as each of them flashed away from it.
RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP!
BAAAAAAAANG!
A deafening explosion followed as a massive claw ripped through the spot where they had just been, carving three deep gashes into the wall.
Everlearn skidded across the ground, coming to a stop, and his eyes widened when he looked at the gash on the wall.
It was so deep, its end couldn't even be seen.
One thing was clear:
If that attack had hit him head-on, he would have been sliced into five pieces and blown into a splatter by the resulting shockwave.
He would have died!
In the next moment, the golden panel blinked:

"A Guardian Beast! It must have been protecting the earring!" Emiris called out, looking at Penelope beside him, who still held the earring in her palm.
"Maybe we should return the ring?" she said, slightly fearful.
But in the next moment, they heard the roar from far across.
"FUCK THE RING!"
"GO ALL OUT!"
"GO ABSOLUTELY ALL OUT!"
Everlearn roared from the other side, but Emiris and Penelope's expressions changed as a powerful gust of wind swept toward them.
In the next instant, the hulking creature that had stood in the center of the hall vanished.
When it reappeared, their eyes bulged to their limits as they looked up to find a massive hoof descending above them.
It happened fast...Too fast.
And this crushing pressure!
Penelope was immediately forced onto all fours by the sheer force, the ground beneath her cracking into pieces.
The other's eyes widened, watching as the hooves slammed down onto both her and Emiris, blowing up a 5-meter crater into the ground.
From that abyss, something rolled out into the air, revolving a couple of times before coming to a stop.
It was the red gem earring that had caused all of this in the first place.
Norald looked at the earring blankly for a while, but then turned its gaze away from it, looking to the side where they stood:
It was Emiris, in his hands, none other than Penelope, who had already been knocked unconscious.
The sight of the creature taking its eyes off the ring and ignoring it made the truth clear to Emiris himself.
"It no longer wants the ring," he muttered, turning to the creature, who slowly took back its hoof buried in the crater as it arced with more lightning.
"It wants to kill us all!"
BOOOOOOOOOM!
The ground shook again, and once more, as Norald jumped high into the air, its massive hooves once more descended upon Emiris.
