"If you understand that fighting a Nakros isn't a battle against another powerful being, such as you, but a being greater than you."
"Then, you will come to realize that the only chance fate ordains is that you succumb to it."
"You fighting a Nakros is an attempt to defy fate itself, and this is what the combat class is about."
"Defying Fate."
She said, and in that moment, the lights that formed the Nakros image dispersed and scattered back to the rest of the void, uniformly lighting the area.
"Most of you might be wondering why the Combat Class is like this."
"A glassy void, so to say," she said, and her words were true.
"That's because this Void acts as a simulation of one reality," she explained.
And in the next moment, every single mote of blue in the room lit up brilliantly, each of them suddenly floating forward and hanging before every student.
Everlearn also had one hovering right before his forehead.
"You all will enter the simulation and be faced with an average Nakros. You won't be harmed... for today."
"But you'll get to witness what a Nakros Arcana is like..."
She said before making the motion of "go" with her fingers.
Everlearn's head jerked back, unconsciously trying to avoid it, but the mote of light immediately entered his forehead, and his eyes turned wholly blue.
The golden panel flashed right after,
║Invasion of a Simulation Force Has Been Sensed.║
║Containing Force....║
║Force Fully Contained.║
║Does Host Wish for the Removal of the Simulation Force?║
'You... you can stop the process?'
Everlearn thought, surprised, but in the end, he replied,
'No.'
If he stopped it, it would bring the attention of Combat Aura, who would wonder why it never worked on him when it worked on the rest.
He'd rather avoid that headache.
Besides, the simulation was a part of the class.
║Simulation Force Released.║
║Host Will Now Undergo Simulation in 5... 4... 3... 2... 1.║
__________
HOOOOWWWWL!
The sound of howling was the first thing he heard.
Snapping his eyes open, he was faced with the sight of a gloomy, dark sky, and immediately, he burst off the ground, rolling in the air twice before landing on both feet.
Looking with caution at his environment, all he found were mountains, most broken, some towering high into the sky.
It was a stony terrain.
"This is a simulation?" he said out loud, hearing his voice clearly, and he unconsciously rubbed both hands together.
It was real... too real.
Turning away from it, he paid more attention to the surroundings, and that was when he found it.
Right atop an undestroyed mountain, just about 300 meters away, was a blurry silhouette obstructed by the dusty breeze.
"What's... that?"
Everlearn mused, creasing his eyes and focusing his stare, and in the next moment, his eyes widened when he saw it.
A grinning creature.
Unconsciously taking a step back,
BOOOOOOOOM!
The top of the mountain suddenly splintered off into rock debris as a figure ripped through the air with monstrous speed.
Four massive arms came crashing down from the sky.
The ground beneath Everlearn began to cave from the mere pressure alone, but he didn't retreat.
Tucking his legs and holding the ground firm, both arms crossed above his head, and then,
BOOOOOOOM!
The entire ground for half a meter exploded into nothing as Everlearn was forced down to the ground, his eyes widening in shock.
It was heavy...ridiculously heavy!
'This... this is 100 stats!!?'
He resisted the force, forcefully raising his head to find a pair of crimson eyes staring at him with that sickening evil grin.
In the next moment,
BAAAAAAAM!
A large palm crashed onto Everlearn's face as one of the Nakros' lower arms slapped out, blowing him away from beneath its massive arms.
BOOOOM
BOOOOM
BOOOOM
Three mountains in the path behind him were reduced to debris as he sent crashing out of each before he tumbled to the ground, coming to a stop, face-flat.
COUGH
COUGH
The sound of hard coughing left Everlearn's lips, droplets of blood raining upon the stony ground.
He rose from the ground and turned forward.
BOOM
BOOM
BOOM
The sound that came next was like a rumbling earthquake, and Everlearn witnessed a cloud of dust rapidly heading his way.
The one responsible was the Nakros, running on all four hands like a wild beast.
It was insanely fast, right before Everlearn, in just a few moments, and its claws slashed for his shoulders.
Taking a step to the side, the claw hissed past Everlearn by an inch, and in the next moment,
BAAAAAANG!
The sound of an elbow crashing against a jaw resounded as Everlearn slammed out his elbow into the sky, connecting with the Nakros' jaw and sending its head jerking backward.
But it only moved back a single step before its two upper arms folded, preparing to slam down.
But even faster,
Everlearn followed his initial attack, jumping up, and his right knee slammed into the Nakros' returning jaw.
BOOOOM!
This time, it was forced to take five steps backward, and Everlearn landed onto the ground.
But a glint crossed his eyes as he turned to his right shoulder, finding his right arm dangling helplessly.
It had been broken.
"HEHEHEHEHE!"
An evil cackle left the Nakros' maw, and a long, serpentine-like tongue rolled out.
"Don't get too cocky."
Everlearn said, rising to his feet.
"You're not that much stronger than I am..."
CRAACK!
The sound of bones creaking rang out as Everlearn rested his arm on the broken mountain at the side, forcing the bone back into its normal place.
His fingers twitched before curling and unfurling under his command, and once more, he got into a fighting stance.
The Nakros' grin widened at the sight.
VROOOOOOM!
The air flapped as Everlearn's back bent horizontally to the ground, a massive leg weaving past his face.
BOOOOOOOOOM!
A massive fist followed after, slamming down onto Everlearn, but it met with nothing as his hand already crept behind him and he somersaulted backward, narrowly avoiding the crushing blow.
The Nakros covered the distance in one step.
SHRIIIIING!
SHRIIIIING!
SHRIIIIING!
SHRIIIIING!
The sound of slicing rang out as its four hands opened wide, tilting above Everlearn, and then sharp, crescent-like claws erupted from its hands, each about 30 centimeters in length.
In the next moment, it slashed down all four claws toward Everlearn, leaving white marks in the air.
In response, Everlean's arms jerked backward, fingers clenching into a fist, and he voiced:
"Activate Apex Strike."
