FICKKER
Neon blue light lines appeared all around Everlearn's arms, and he slammed out.
Shockwaves exploded forth as his two fists smashed outward with speed, slamming head-on with the claws.
BOOOOOOOM!
BOOOOOOOM!
BOOOOOOOM!
BOOOOOOOM!
For the next few seconds, there was nothing but iron clashing against iron as phantoms of multiple fists phased around Everlearn, blocking all claw slashes.
BOOOOOOM!
All of a sudden, white air exploded outward as a kick smashed into Everlearn's stomach, blowing him three steps backward.
BOOOOM!
The ground beneath his third step exploded into bits as he flashed forward with speed.
Jerking his right fist backward, neon blue light burst out with even more power,
BOOOOOOOOM!
Another terrifying shockwave as the punch screeched forward toward the Nakros.
It connected with its face, blowing it back three steps.
BOOOOM!
BOOOM!
BOOOOM!
The ground beneath Everlearn's feet caved in as he moved forward in an instant.
SLASSSSSH!
The air on his shoulder was split apart as a slash came at him, but he dodged it, following instantly with an uppercut that smashed once more into the Nakro's jaw.
This time, its entire body weight was raised 5 centimeters off the ground.
BOOOOOOOOOM!
A kick followed after, slamming into the Nakros' chest and throwing it backward.
It bounced on the ground a couple of times before slamming into a mountain, crumbling it to dust, but it succeeded in halting its motion.
"HEHEHEHEHE!"
The demonic laughter rang out as it turned toward Everlearn, who was calmly stepping toward him, both hands clenched into fists.
He came to a stop three meters away, watching as the Nakros rose from the crumbles.
An intense face-off, and the creature's eyes soon turned downward, noticing the neon blue lights around Everlearn's arm, and its grin dispersed, replaced by a somber expression.
In the next instant, Everlearn watched it: two of the Nakros' arms raised upward and came together, forming a hand seal, while its two other arms folded just above, forming another seal.
Together, they formed a circle, with a rectangle within that circle, all facing him.
The second that happened, Everlearn felt a chill trail down his spine.
It was...Danger!
The next moment,
CREAAAAAAK!
The sound resembled that of iron scraping against iron, and it came from the navel of the Nakros.
The eye-catching slit on its stomach suddenly opened up, revealing a blood-red maw dripping with crimson blood.
What followed were the words, ringing out like the echo of a thousand people:
"Nakrio Artio: Bladio Cleavio!"
RIIIIIPLLEEEEEE!
A ripple of an invisible wave followed as Everlearn's heart beat once, and his movements were locked down, a sudden pressure that made him unable to move an inch.
One moment, he was standing on a stony terrain, yet in the next, he was falling through a Void.
A void of pitch black.
He raised his head forward, and he found the Nakros.
Both of its arms still crossed forward in the same seal, and in the next moment, its somber expression faded to be replaced by that mocking grin.
"Endio!"
It was the final order.
RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP!
RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP!
RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP!
RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP!
All Everlearn heard was the sound of space being slashed by something, and brilliant flashes of white appeared all around him, blinding him.
When he opened his eyes once more, he found himself looking at the familiar gloomy sky of the stony terrain.
Yet, when he tried to rise, he was shocked.
He felt...nothing.
As if he were no longer tethered to his body.
Turning his gaze to the side, he found the reason,
His entire right arm had been sliced off from his shoulders and divided into three pieces lying about a meter away from him.
His left arm was in the same condition, also lying half a meter away, divided into three pieces.
Both of his legs had been separated from his waist, divided into five pieces, and all that was left was his torso still attached to his neck.
"H…how?"
He muttered to himself, and the sound of footsteps echoed out as he turned his gaze up.
There stood the Nakros towering above him, with all four of its arms crossed, and that same devilish grin hanging on its maw.
Unconsciously, Everlearn's eyes trailed down to its stomach, which still held that maw dripping with red blood that rained down on Everlearn's face.
'So this is...Arcane?'
Those were the last thoughts of Everlearn before his consciousness turned dark.
_______________
When he opened his eyes, he found himself in the same glassy void and watched as a mote of blue light rose out of his forehead, dispersing amongst the rest.
Sitting upright, he found about a hundred pairs of eyes staring at him in quiet surprise.
"Huh?"
He muttered to himself, staring blankly in return.
"You're the last to wake up."
The words echoed, and Everlearn turned to find Combat Aura looking right at him.
"You fought the Nakros the longest," she said, and a slight "oh" escaped Everlearn's lips.
But then,
DRIIIING
His device suddenly reverberated, and he turned to it, only for his eyes to widen in shock.
[{+150 Points Obtained}]
[{Reward For Exceptional Performance in Combat Training}]
I just gained 150 points!?
"I believe each of you now has a taste of what Arcana is, don't y'all?" she asked, bringing Everlearn back to the class, and his brows creased upon hearing that word, his memories drifting back to the fight.
Everlearn himself was around 80 in stat points, and the Nakros was said to be 100.
It was stronger than him, but Everlearn wasn't helpless either.
With his Apex Strike skill, he could still go toe-to-toe with the Nakros.
But at the end, that technique...that void...and he had woken up, slashed into pieces.
How was that even possible?
"That is Arcane," Combat Aura said, her voice echoing clearly.
"A lower Arcane Art that the average Nakros can employ."
"It might seem impossible to evade or defeat, but it is, and in the next, we'll dive deeper into the various Nakros Arts, and you'll learn how to defend against them."
"Class dismissed."
She said, and in that moment, she took a step back only to fade out of the void.
Even after she was gone, not everyone immediately rose.
They were still shaken by the Arcane attack, their own deaths, even if it was only a simulation, and Everlearn was no different.
'If that is just an average Arcane Art, then how much more horrifying are the higher Arcane Arts!?'
It left him speechless, but in the end, he forced the thoughts away.
In the next class, they'll be made to witness even more Arcane attacks, and now, Everlearn is more curious than ever.
Rising, he turned and found a swirling space where students were stepping into, and he followed them out, arriving outside the building.
He had yet to take five steps when,
DRIIIING!
His phone beeped, and Everlearn turned to it, only for his jaw to drop.
"So fast!?"
