Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 212: Richard is gone

Grey's figure flickered across the sky as he closed the distance between Crimson City and Nova City within minutes. He flew past the barrier above and arrived in the familiar Sector 6. The same place he first woke up in this world held a special place in his heart.

Arriving in the Housing Complex Zone in Sector 6, Grey swiftly navigated to his old house by walking. It had only been two months but it felt like two years had passed. He walked aimlessly around this area when he first found out about Nexus energy and it was very refreshing to be back.

Walking up to the apartment unit he, Richard, and Alissa once lived together in, he took a key out of his spatial ring and slid it in.

Click.

The door slowly opened, revealing a dark place.

Instinctively, Grey entered and pressed the light switches on the side.

"I'm home." Grey mumbled as he looked around.

From the looks of it, Richard did not seem to be at the house.

He was not at the Duskwood family house either, he checked around before destroying their place. Then where did he go.

"Could he be in the factory?" Grey frowned.

But the time right now should have already been past his shift time.

Abruptly, he noticed a presence at the front of the apartment.

"Richard, are you back?" A concerned male voice came from the outside.

Grey recognized the voice immediately. It was their neighbour, Uncle Rob.

"Uncle Rob?" Grey came back to the entrance and greeted him.

"Grey... I mean City Lord Grey." Uncle Rob naturally did not spawn out of nowhere, he was definitely aware of everything that was happening in the city until now.

"Have you seen my father?" Grey inquired. "It is already past his shift time no?"

"That is right." Uncle Rob sighed. "It is indeed past his shift time. However..."

He took a deep breath, he did not know how to reveal it.

"Your father, he is missing. He suddenly stopped coming to the factory and when I came to check the apartment was empty, there was no one in here. Yesterday, the Duskwoods also came here to look for him but they left with no clues." Rob said with a worried look on his face. He was afraid that Grey would say something.

However, for some reason, Grey appeared completely calm.

"Is that so?" Grey nodded. "It is fine Uncle Rob. I know where to find father. He is safe and sound."

"You do?" Rob heaved a sigh of relief.

It seemed like Grey already knew he was missing. Could it be that he had already taken Richard away from Nova City to Ashspire City.

"Your father is really lucky." Rob said with a sigh. "To have a son like you, how many dreams everyday? Send my regards to him and let him know that we old bones are still here, if he ever feels bored he can come back here and play chess with us."

"Alright. I will let him know." Grey casually nodded.

He did not actually know where Richard was but he activated his mind perception and he picked up something.

Something very terrifying.

It was a never seen item in this entirety of the planet.

It was a glowing crystal that gave off a special presence. The same presence as Richard.

Grey closed the door behind him, the space was now completely dark and nothing appeared in his vision. Not even Eterna would be able to see anything.

But he had mind perception, he swiftly navigated to Richard's room and entered while the door closed behind.

As soon as he entered, he saw a bright light emerging.

It came from the crystal on Richard's bed.

Seeing this, Grey swiftly snapped his hands and immediately a secret realm portal appeared and swallowed the crystal as a whole.

Just as quickly, Eterna appeared in his vision.

"That thing." Eterna spoke emotionlessly. "It is a recording crystal utilized by the people of the starry sky. It is usually used when one is out of range of the starry sky network. You can activate it using your psionic energy or your normal energy. From the looks of it, there are no encryption runes placed on it and you should be able to access it without any issues."

And before Grey even replied, she disappeared.

She knew that Grey did not want her snooping, she gave him a small summary of the item because she had realized what was going on here.

She might not know how or when he left, but one thing was sure to her.

Richard was no longer on this planet.

"Since when did you become so reasonable, Eterna?" Grey shook his head and entered the secret realm.

...

Entering the secret realm, Grey immediately sent psionic energy into the crystal.

It shone with light and slowly a figure appeared in front of Grey.

"This..." Grey was stunned.

The person that appeared in front of him was not the tanned middle aged man with growing white hair he once knew.

Instead, the person that stood in front of him was a young man in his twenties, he had sharp eyes, a tall and lean build with short white hair and an extremely handsome face and deep eyes with special inscriptions in them.

"I am leaving this crystal my two children." The man's face was warm and a gentle smile played across his face. "Grey... Alissa... it is me your father."

"..." Grey just kept quiet, watching the video in silence.

"I do not know who is watching this video, but I am sure both of you will eventually see this." Richard shook his head and spoke. "First of all let me make it clear. My name is not Richard... it is Wang Lin."

"Wang Lin?" Grey was dumbfounded.

No way, his father actually had the legendary protagonist fate.

He was caught between laughter and tears hearing this.

"My origins are from a place far beyond the Blue Star you know," Wang Lin said, his tone turning distant. "I come from Canglan Star, a world once classified as a low level Tier 0 planet. A place without chances, without miracles. Yet I defied fate and became the first Fifth Rank expert ever born there."

"From that moment on, I stepped into the starry sky. I made a name for myself across countless worlds. I walked through stellar storms, crossed ruined civilizations, battled beasts formed from cosmic laws. For fifty years, I rose higher and higher until I met the woman who changed my life."
