Werewolf Leveling: Building the Strongest Pack in the Apocalypse

Chapter 199: Auction(3)

The room went silent the moment I spoke as everyone's gaze averted to me. As far as they knew, Damian was the only person in the room with blessed rank blood. The announcer froze.

"Who is this guy?"

"Doesn't he know the rules?"

"Sounds like a fake bidder."

The room erupted in loud chatters and whispers. The announcer's eyes suddenly turned sharp as he stared daggers at me.

I spotted a few more ghouls making their way from behind the stage.

"You know what happens to fake bidders, don't you? Anyone found bidding with wealth they do not have will become slaves and be bid at our next auction. That is our rule."

Suddenly, more ghouls appeared at the entrance as if to stop me from running.

"Feel free to test the quality of my blood if you feel I am lying," I said, and the people in the room began to chuckle.

I understood their reaction. I was an unknown entity. For someone with blessed quality blood to suddenly show up seemed unlikely to them.

"That we will!" He announced, and just then the female faun stepped forward with the same device Asis used to test my blood quality once before.

"Just drip your blood onto the device and it will tell you the quality of your blood."

I did as she instructed and created a small incision on my hand with my claw. The moment she saw my claws, her heart skipped a beat.

She looked up at me with wide eyes. Of course, this is because fauns and werewolves had a long history. We werewolves hunted fauns just like vampires hunted us.

We were the sole reason why the population of fauns on the outside world had nearly reached extinction.

Even now, I could see why this was the case. Being this close to her, I could hardly fight the urge to rip out her throat.

There was something about them that felt so appetizing.

I bet her instincts were screaming at her to run. But the fact that I had horns on my head must've been what was stopping her.

I dripped my blood onto the device and waited for a few precious seconds for the result to come in.

Her eyes widened even more.

"H-He has blessed quality blood!" Her timid voice erupted, and immediately a wave of chatter ripped through the room.

The ghouls looked back and forth between each other in disbelief while the announcer looked absolutely speechless.

"Could it be…"

"Who even is that guy?"

Seeing how rowdy everyone was getting, the announcer cleared his throat to speak.

"Ahem, we will collect your payment after the auction is concluded."

Saying that, he continued with his auction, bringing out different items to be auctioned. Damian didn't look interested in any of the items being auctioned until one item was brought out. It was the famed sword Excalibur.

Damian whispered something to a vampire sitting beside him, and the vampire raised a bid.

The starting bid for the famed sword was 200 vials of noble quality blood, and that's exactly what it was sold for. It seemed no one wanted to bid against him. Maybe out of fear or maybe because they thought they couldn't outbid him.

Either way, the auction was wrapped up not too long after. Throughout the rest of the auction, I could feel eyes on me. One particular person was looking at me quite intently. It was the representative of the Sun clan.

It was understandable, considering I bought the very item his house so desperately needed. They must've wanted the fleece to heal their leader. Whether it would work was up for debate, but it was their last hope either way.

"Darling, are you going to collect the item you bidded for now?" Selthia asked.

"Yes, do you want to come along?"

She promptly nodded her head.

"The two of you can go ahead. I'm being invited out by a few nobles. I'll see you at home," the lamia queen said.

I could see that she was exchanging looks with a few people in the room. I bet they wanted to question her about me.

"Go ahead."

"Umm, excuse me, could you come with me for a moment?"

I turned around to see the faun standing behind me. She was standing so far away that it could be hard to guess that she was talking to me. She was also surrounded by a few ghouls. I nodded and followed behind her with Selthia clinging.

She had an amused smile on her face.

"Are you enjoying being dragged to a boring place like this?" I asked.

"As long as I'm with you, then it doesn't matter where I am. Plus, I get to watch you being amazing. Did you see everyone's face when they found out you had the highest quality blood?" she giggled. "Those nobles were so stumped."

Selthia and I chatted and laughed until we were brought to an empty room where the item I bid for was laying in a glass case. The announcer was also there. He had a smile of pure greed on his face when he looked at me.

"Welcome, sir. Your item is here for you. Take a look, I'm sure you'll feel satisfied by it." He gestured me towards the fleece.

The golden fleece glowed beautifully inside its glass casing. I couldn't say for certain if it was the real thing, but one thing for sure, it was mesmerizing.

"Yes, it looks just as magnificent as I imagined it," I responded, and his smile grew even further.

"I'm glad. Just come right here and we can proceed with the payment."

The Kappa handed me the vial. I flashed him a smile before biting into my wrist and draining my blood into the vial. He watched with greedy eyes until the vial was filled.

"Thank you, sir."

At the same time, a ghoul stepped forward and handed me the fleece. I was ready to leave right then and there, but then he stopped me.

"One more thing, sir. Take this. It's our VIP card. We would be happy to have a customer such as you as one of our frequent buyers. This card grants you certain special privileges. Here, take it."
