Upon their arrival, the automatons adjusted their formation, giving the 25 Arcanists space to move.
The golems focused on their flanks as the 25 Arcanists led the battle in front…
Each one had mastered a different aspect of combat…
***
The battlefield had become even more chaotic…
There was a lot of smoke from bombardments coming from the Airships above. There was also the endless roars of Chaos Beasts across the valley.
It didn't look good for them if they were to look at the numbers…
Nonetheless, Yna's team had already mastered individual curses, so they began synchronizing them.
One apprentice cast a "Pulse Curse" that marked a beast's heart. Another one released a "Bone Lock" that froze its joints… A third apprentice added "Mind Fracture," causing the beast to attack its own allies…
Their Dark Arts were showing incredible effectiveness against the Chaos Beasts…
The Asura blood allowed them to cast in rapid succession without backlash!
They could already tell that even if they cast Forbidden Spells, their bodies could easily absorb the recoil…
Furthermore, their Phantasm State was probably at its peak, and they could do this for several hours!
Yna herself activated her "Specter Core…" It was a Spell only possible with Asura blood. Her shadow split into dozens of threads, each one targeting a different beast's weak point. She didn't just bind them, she dissected them mid-charge!
They then turned to another Chaos Beast, but this time, it didn't look like just any other failed experiment…
It looked more like a griffin…
They threw several curse spells on it, but didn't break it. Its tail shattered a nearby automaton, and its claws tore through a golem's shoulder.
Yna narrowed her eyes.
"They're adapting," she muttered as she noticed that the chaos energy in their bodies was now able to respond to their Dark Arts…
However, it only means that they were able to resist their Dark Arts a lot longer than before… Their Dark Hands, Spectral Binds, and various Spells were still working against them.
Another beast then charged at Yna… It's head was a fusion of a lion's skull and a horned beetle, and its back was emitting some sort of acidic mist…
"Careful!"
Yna shouted as she noticed that the spreading mist was also hurting other Chaos Beasts around!
One Apprentice was also hit by the mist! His robes melted instantly, but he was safe!
"Don't hesitate and use the Asura Blood!" Yna shouted…
Just like that, everyone's Asura blood surged.
One of the apprentices had his skin hardened, and without hesitation, he cast a Forbidden Curse!
"Soul Collapse…"
The spell tore through the beast's core, but the recoil would've incapacitated an Arcanist… However, this time, he stood, panting, but alive.
"Hahaha! Take that! I think I can cast that a few more times!"
It was an instant kill, and it was definitely a very satisfactory result.
Yna, on the other hand, just maximized her Specter Core Spell…
Her shadow threads kept targeting the weak points of those acid-spitting beasts.
One thread pierced its eye. Another wrapped around its exposed veins. A third burrowed into its open jaw and detonated…
The beast collapsed, but not before releasing a final pulse of Chaos energy that warped the ground beneath them.
Yna staggered as she realized that some of these Chaos Beasts wouldn't just die without causing damage to the surroundings.
Screech~
Yna then looked up after seeing a loud screech…
More were coming.
A winged chimera descended from above!
"I'll deal with this!"
***
The same situations were happening in the front line…
Halem's team began chaining fusion spells, something no ordinary Mystic could survive.
One cast a "Gravity Prism" that bent space around a beast, trapping it in a loop of collapsing pressure.
Another used "Energy Reversal…" redirecting a beast's own Chaos energy back into its core, causing internal rupture.
Halem activated his "Asura Circuit," a blood-enhanced spell model that let him cast three high-tier spells simultaneously. He saw a flying Chaos Beast that must be killed!
He cast a Gravity Snare, a high-tier Mystic spell that created a localized pressure field.
Soon, the beast's flight dipped, its wings struggling against the pull.
Then, he followed with Arcane Bolt, a focused projectile enhanced by his Asura blood. The bolt struck the beast's heart!
Finally, he used Phase Disrupt, which destabilized the creature's phasing ability just as it tried to vanish. Normally, this was only to catch those with high-tier movement Spells. However, it also works great against Chaos Beast!
The beast then crashed into the ground, screeching as its body twisted unnaturally.
Halem exhaled as he saw the result of his multicasting…
"I'm not a master yet," he muttered, "but I'm getting there."
In the meantime, Ral's team had gone berserk…
The Asura blood didn't just mutate their bodies, it gave them adaptive traits mid-battle!
One apprentice grew armored scales after being struck by a venom tail. Another developed heat resistance while grappling with a magma-spitting beast.
Ral's own mutation deepened.
His claws extended, his spine arched, and his senses sharpened to the point he could hear a beast's heartbeat from thirty meters away.
He activated "Asura Instinct…", a combat trance that let him predict enemy movement before it happened.
With his lead, the Beast Arts Practitioners were actually doing a lot better than the other apprentices!
It felt as if they were evolving in real time.

From the airship, Kent's expression darkened… He didn't expect that these mortal Arcanists would actually be so strong…
"They're quite special. Arcanists at this level shouldn't be this powerful." Neylan muttered.
"I can feel that mysterious energy that Mennena had demonstrated before... It must be from the Asura Race," Kent muttered.
To be honest, they had no idea about the Asura Race if not for Mennena's guidance.
"Asura... So they're real." Neylan and the others could only agree to this. There was no other explanation.
As they considered what to do next with these young Arcanists, everyone's eyes finally lit up…
They sensed it.
An Immortal had finally arrived…
"Two horns… Four arms… That must be the Asura Race. Why is he alone?" Kent muttered as he looked at the figure floating in front of their Airship.
