Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree

Chapter 239: Azure Vault City

After reaching an agreement with the people of the Light Sect, the Duke waved his large hand, and countless yellow sands spread out, transforming into a wide flying carpet that carried Dali away.

The remaining people of the Light Sect could now support the Light Bishop and slowly make their way to Azure Vault City.

The object the Four Gods Sect desired must certainly be on Dali, so they didn't have to worry about being pursued by the Four Gods Sect.

As the Duke flew, he pondered the relationship between the two factions, and it seemed the Four Gods Sect was also somewhat apprehensive, choosing to disguise their identities during the ambush.

He thought that he could only get answers from Dali and thus asked, "Why do the people from the Four Gods Sect have to deliberately disguise their identities?"

Dali paused for a moment and replied, "Because neither the Four Gods nor the God of Light actually allow us to kill each other..."

The Duke listened to Dali for a long time and finally understood that there was actually no significant conflict between the Four Gods and the God of Light.

However, over many years of development and with the Gods not appearing for a long time, these sects have developed more and more aberrantly, starting to fight for power and profit.

Previously, the Light Sect was the same as the Four Gods Sect, having its own believers everywhere.

But later, the God of Light suddenly disappeared, and the believers received no response at all.

After losing the God of Light, the strength of the Light believers became extremely difficult to improve.

The method of enhancing these believers' abilities was directly linked to the God they worshipped, so when the God vanished, it essentially locked their path to advancement.

This also led to the rapid decline of the Light Sect's strength, with the original resources gradually being divided by other sects, reaching the current state.

Despite this, people from the Four Gods Sect still dare not openly annihilate the Light Sect, even more so, they dare not attack the people of the Light Sect publicly.

That's why those people earlier would disguise their identities and refuse to admit they were from the Four Gods Sect.

Azure Vault City has a stronghold of the Light Sect; it is also a place with a significant number of Light Sect believers, although still fewer compared to the other Four Gods Sect believers.

The Duke quickly flew with Dali, and when they were a short distance from the city gate, they landed and chose to walk the rest of the way.

He did not want to attract too much attention, to which Dali also expressed her understanding.

The inspection at the city gate was relatively strict, but with Dali's identity as the Holy Daughter, everything was not a problem.

Moreover, Dali added, "Since Mr. Duke is an adventurer traveling abroad, let me help you resolve your identity in Azure Vault City, so you can operate with more ease."

During the previous conversation, Duke mentioned very little about his identity, only saying that he had been traveling and adventuring outside for years, with no fixed residence.

Dali naturally understood that Duke was concealing some information but did not inquire further.

"Not as one of your Light Sect, right?" Duke asked.

Dali smiled and said, "Of course not, it won't cause any trouble for Mr. Duke, just an ordinary resident's identity in Azure Vault City."

"Thank you very much then," said Duke.

He indeed needed a legal identity now, which could save him a lot of trouble.

Such an identity was somewhat troublesome, even just as an ordinary resident, it wasn't easy to get.

It was only because of Dali's special status that all this could be swiftly resolved.

After the two entered the city, they headed toward the Light Sect's stronghold, where a cluster of white buildings stood.

Even though the Light Sect had already declined, a dead camel is still bigger than a horse; ordinary forces could not be compared.

These buildings were constructed over a hundred years ago and are one of the many holy sites among Light believers.

Even the boldest of the Four Gods Sect wouldn't dare seize these places.

They might bully people of the Light Sect, but they couldn't bully the believers of the Light Sect.

The streets in Azure Vault City were very tidy, all paved with bluestone, and there were some believers cleaning the streets.

It seemed that the cleanliness of this place was maintained due to the presence of these people keeping the city clean.

The Duke followed Dali into the Light Sect and was not questioned at all along the way.

After waiting for half an hour, the bishop returned with the remaining people.

By now, the bishop seemed to appear without any anomalies; it seemed that he had adjusted his condition before entering the city, so outsiders wouldn't see his fatigue.

Once inside a large hall of the Light Sect, the bishop finally sat down with a weary expression, his aged face resembling dry bark, and his eyes had deeply sunken in.

It was clear that he really wanted to get a good night's sleep, completely relying on his strong willpower to support himself.

"Thank you for your help!" the bishop expressed his gratitude once again.

He then continued to ask, "What kind of reward would you like? You can mention it."

The Duke thought for a moment and said, "If possible, could you provide me with some Light Attribute spells? I'd like to conduct some research."

He currently only mastered two kinds of Light Magic; the Light Sect must have plenty of Light Attribute spells inside for him to learn from.

The bishop had a troubled look and said, "The spells within the sect can only be taught to qualified believers, this..."

"Mr. Duke, you don't need to ask the bishop about this. He can't teach you. But if you have any questions, you can ask me later, and I'll tell you in detail," the Holy Daughter Dali specifically emphasized the word 'in detail' and her beautiful eyes moved playfully.

The Duke instantly understood her meaning; although the Light Sect officially couldn't teach spells to outsiders, private exchanges weren't restricted.

"Got it, then I'll change the reward. Do you have anything like this Energy Crystal Stone?" Duke said, taking out a Level 1 Magic Stone.

Dali said, "May I take a look?"

"Certainly," Duke handed it over.

Dali carefully inspected it after taking it, and said, "It's something similar to a Magic Crystal Stone, why haven't I seen it before."

She then took out a light blue stone and showed it to Duke.

As soon as Duke saw it, he knew that this Magic Crystal Stone was the Energy Crystal Stone from the Oracle Plane, which also contained abundant energy.

"Great, then let's use that as the reward. Also, I'm planning to open a potion shop in Azure Vault City, could you assist with that?" said Duke.

Since Duke couldn't return for a short time, he needed to find a place to settle down first, and he couldn't neglect the progress of cultivating proficiency.

Magic Potions were still the most direct way to acquire free attribute points, and the brewed potions would eventually need to be sold, so opening a potion shop became the only sales channel.

In a city like Azure Vault City, with many casters, as long as the Magic Potions were suitable, they should not be hard to sell.
