I'm Trying To Go Broke, So Why Do I Keep Getting Richer?!

Chapter 125: Missing Ship

"Can't we wait for that person to come in? Once he inhales enough fumes, he would also be unable to resist. I can act as a distraction again," Picollo said, but Leo immediately rejected the suggestion.

Although it would've been ideal if they could draw the other person inside as well, he knew that it was easier said than done.

He always knew that even if one person stayed behind, it was going to be a big problem. But it was something that they couldn't do anything about.

Unfortunately, the person that stayed behind, happened to be the worst of the five. Not only was he able to kill a person without getting close to them, but he was also much stronger.

Out of all of them, the captain stayed behind. It was truly a mess.

"I doubt things would be that easy. If the other four don't return, he would definitely know that something went wrong, and try to contact them. And if our luck is worse, he might have already received the news."

Leo shook his head lightly, realising that the fifth person couldn't be brought inside the building. If he was pushed, he was going to blow up the entire mansion and hope that the target survived just enough to be dragged back.

"How would he know?"

"Just like these people knew that their master told them to stop dragging things?" Leo answered, returning back to the intruders.

None of them were wearing anything in their ears. But in the current era, there are so many things that could achieve that.

There were even chips that could be directly implanted in a person's brain to increase their senses and help them hear instructions from faraway places without wearing any comms.

Leo soon saw a small thing on the chest of the bleeding intruder. He pinched the thing and pulled it out, looking at it from closer.

Although it was small, he could still see a lens even with the naked eye.

"Is this a camera? Is this on?" Leo mumbled, as he stood up. "Is this what you are using to instruct them, Fiona?'

Leo asked, moving the small cameras away from his face.

"Can you do me the favor and send the fifth person inside as well?" He asked, but his time was filled with mockery as if he already knew that she wasn't going to do that.

In fact, he already expected the other people to be listening to their conversation. Despite that, he intentionally told them everything.

Although it looked like he was upset that he couldn't bring the fifth person inside, he didn't want that to happen in the first place.

After all, the poison was simply fumes. The fifth person could simply wear a mask to resist the fumes. Even if they didn't do that, as long as they were fast enough to handle things without wasting time, they could really end everything before the fumes even took place.

The only reason he said that he was disappointed that he couldn't bring the person inside, was to make the master of these people clearly tell them off, and make them unable to enter.

Not only did this give him some room to breathe, but it was also a way to frustrate the fifth intruder, making them impatient.

As for knocking the entire building down, he was already sure that it wasn't going to happen. After all, he had already heard from them that he was to be captured alive.

This gave him a lot of privilege. He was the previous commodity that couldn't be hurt during this entire mission, as even an accidental death was a blow to Fiona.

That was also the reason why he clearly said out loud that he didn't have strength, and could only rely on external things like poison.

In one way, it looked like he was simply talking to himself. But in reality, he was sending that message to Fiona, subtly manipulating her into acting as per his wishes.

After all, he was someone who could even manipulate Monarchs to an extent without going too far. So what was a mere human, and suggesting to them that it was foolish to not wait.

If he died, the fun was over for Fiona. So he had clearly bought a lot of time for himself. Just like that, he walked towards the window and looked outside

There was only one way out of the mansion and Leo was sure that the fifth person was waiting there.

"It would've been so much better if I had the Necropolis Ship to help me teleport again. But where are those idiots? I clearly told them to meet back on earth, but I can't feel the ship nearby."

Leo was quite frustrated at Kaelus. He even wondered if Kaelus had ignored all his suggestions and preferred to escape on his own.

Then again, the ship had only granted Kaelus temporarily weak long control. Even if he wanted to take master control, he couldn't do that.

After all, Voldred had personally granted master control to him. So Kaelus couldn't take it.

After the week was over, the ship should've voided all control of Kaelus and turned on its way back to earth, as per the master instructions.

So the ship not returning even now, made Leo wonder just what had happened. Did something happen to the ship on the way?

"No, that shouldn't be possible. Did Voldred personally locate the ship, intercepting it to take back his son? Or did Kaelus, against all my expectations, turn the ship towards Necropolis, to surrender to his father?"

There were so many possibilities, but Leo couldn't verify either. It was what made it so frustrating. He could only wait for the resolution.

"Since the ship isn't here, I guess we can only handle this problem as per the plans."

With a sigh, he turned his back to the window and walked towards the gate, going back through the hallway.
