"Will you be alright?" Picollo asked Leo as he started tying the hands of the unconscious intruders.
"Will I be alright?" Leo asked in return. "I really hope so."
He brought a small green pill out of his storage ring, and placed it in his mouth, under his tongue while keeping the camera pointing down.
Although he had run this scenario a thousand times in his mind, it all depended on the execution.
Just like these people wanted to capture him alive, he also wanted to do the same. Granting them an easy death? That was too good for them.
He had big plans for these people, especially for the coming future. Moreover, killing them granted Fiona an easy way out to deny all responsibility.
If they were captured alive, then he literally had her reverse scale in his hand. It was enough to make her more agitated, since these people were the evidence of her involvement.
She had made a big mistake by sending these people. Even though it was because she underestimated him, it didn't matter to him. All that mattered was the end outcome.
Leo stopped before the threshold of the exit, and pushed the door open again. Right there, he saw that man... The one that had attacked him even the last time.
If Lightning hadn't arrived to attack him, the outcome would've been uncertain at that time. But now... Leo had already faced this person once.
He had even seen the footage of the Alpha Labs attack, and understood this man's skills to some extent. He was the most troublesome for people to handle, since his ability was very close to instant death.
Unfortunately, that one ability was the thing that he couldn't use in him. Leo had to be taken alive.
"I believe it's the second time we are meeting."
Leo's hands remained behind his back as he stepped out of the villa, showing not a single care in the world.
"I didn't expect you to use poison on them. Are you disappointed that I wasn't with them? You could've ended it at once," the red haired man asked, as he rubbed the back of his neck while stretching it.
"Just as I thought, you know what happened inside," Leo answered, maintaining a few meters of distance between the two.
Without a long pause, he asked, "How much is Fiona paying you?"
"What does that have to do with you?"
"Come and work for me, I will pay you double..."
"Hah, are you sure you can even afford that?" the man asked.
"Why don't you try me? What I can afford might actually surprise you," Leo answered. "I'm sure you're not working for her because you worship her? It's always about the money. Not only will I grant you money, but also freedom to do as you please without ordering you."
"Hahaha, that does sound like a good offer." The man burst into laughter, before immediately turning serious. "You hear that, Lady Fiona? I'm in quite a lot of demand, so you better increase our pay next time."
He didn't answer Leo, but through his conversation with Fiona, Leo had already received an answer. It was a firm rejection, still within Leo's expectations.
"In that case, we can only solve this. The last person standing, gets it all," Leo said, as he placed his hand in his pocket, as if trying to bring out a weapon.
"How many people do you think I have killed? Did you expect me to give you time?"
Before Leo could even bring his hand out of his pocket, the man appeared behind him.
He immediately struck the back of Leo's neck. "If I'm a little harsh, then know that it's fully intentional."
The strike was precisely to knock Leo out. Leo's eyes widened, as his fist within his hands clenched tighter after being attacked.
His vision started losing focus, as he fell forward.
The man reached out his hand and grabbed Leo's collar to prevent his fall. "That was easier. He was really a bit too talkative."
The man pulled Leo closer. After confirming that Leo had actually lost consciousness, he stabbed a syringe in his neck to drug him even more, making sure that the next time he woke up, was before Fiona, in shackles.
He picked Leo's body up, placing him over his shoulder.
"Now, let's bring the idiots back. Since there is only one survivor from last time, it shouldn't be much of a threat."
The man, carrying Leo on his shoulder, kicked the door open again. However, just as he was about to take a step inside, he felt something was wrong.
His senses were warning him, but he couldn't understand why? Was there still danger inside? He subconsciously took a step back, not realising that the danger wasn't inside the villa, but on his shoulder.
Leo's eyes snapped open abruptly, even after being drugged so heavily.
The pill that he had kept in his mouth, had already melted, and absorbed by his body, giving him a complete detoxification.
Leo's hands were still hanging lifelessly, as he didn't make any strange movements. However, a small syringe had appeared in his hand as well, albeit a stronger dose than what the man used.
It was made from materials that he had received from Necropolis. As for the person who came up with the composition and helped him, it was none other than Leo.
After all, in the last one month, he had been using Picollo to classify most of the herbs and rare materials that he had received from Necropolis, without telling him the source.
Even the syringe was made with materials that could even penetrate the skull of a dungeon beast, let alone a person with their guards down.
While the man was still focused on the sense of danger which was getting stronger, he suddenly thought of something.
Even as he stepped back, his senses didn't return to normal. They only became stronger, which made him think of the worst.
"Leo-" He tried to speak while pushing Leo off his shoulder, but it was too late.
Leo moved just as fast, and stabbed the syringe in the back of his neck, stabbing one of the most vulnerable parts in a person's body.
"You!" The red haired man felt the sharp sting. Instead of tossing Leo away, he tightened his grip around Leo's waist, crushing him even as his body started feeling dizzy.
If he passed out in this situation, he wasn't sure if he would survive. To ensure his survival, he had to kill Leo who was the biggest danger to him after he passed out.
At the same time, he activated his abilities, and started burning Leo's blood while crushing his bones.
Leo groaned in pain, feeling the sound of his bones cracking fiercely.
Before the man completely passed out, Leo heard a loud crack, and the pain was soul chilling as his rib cage shattered, a few shards even stabbing close to his heart.
In pain, Leo fell on the ground, while the red haired man had already passed out. Unfortunately, Leo wasn't in any better condition. His condition was arguably even worse, as he had internal bleeding.
"Faaaack!" Leo roared in pain.
