Jin, Addison, Brittany, and Angela were strapped in a rocket, ready to go to space. Mrs Horton had everything ready to go in less than ten minutes, and now they were waiting until the countdown for them to launch.

"Jin, I've been meaning to ask you this, but never got around to it. Why are you still working for the Aegis Corps after...you know?" Brittany asked

Jin didn't answer right away. It was a good question, and he thought about it himself over the past year. It wasn't until recently that he realized why he didn't mind working for the Aegis Corps, or at least Mrs Horton.

"Mrs Horton wasn't the cause of my parents' death." Jin made sure to have them understand that and have himself understand that.

"It was the council who started that program my mother was in, and it was the council that put the hit on my mother. She wouldn't have died if it weren't for me and my father being there. Besides, I don't work for the Aegis Corps, I work for Mrs Horton."

Everyone understood his reasoning and accepted it. They actually planned on quitting the Aegis Corps for Jin, but he told them not to.

"COUNTDOWN IN 10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1...LIFT OFF!"

The thrusters ignited, and the rocket took off into the sky. With how advanced the technology was in this world, the rocket reached space within moments, then transformed into a shuttle and made its way to the asteroid.

"We should be arriving in five minutes," Angela said proudly.

"Yes, Angela, we can see the timer on the screen right now." Brittany rolled her eyes.

"Hey, I'm just letting you know. No need to get all smart with me."

Jin was double-checking all of his gear, making sure everything was in order. They were currently wearing their spacesuits, and luckily, their Power Kits were able to wrap around their spacesuits since they were nano technology.

"Is everyone ready?" He asked

"Yeah! I bet I can take on that bastard without any issue! My powers are even stronger in space!" Angela wasn't scared of any slime monster, and she was confident she could kill it with ease.

"Don't underestimate the Láspi. They're extremely dangerous and have infinite evolution if they continuously consume organic matter." Jin shuddered just thinking about what it could become.

"Láspi? Is that what the slime is called?" Addison asked

"Yeah. We don't know the actual name of the species, but we called it that because they dwell in mud, silt, sediment, and are very slimy."

"We? You talking about your old lives or something?" Angela asked

Jin nodded. "I am. In one of the planets I lived on, the Láspi attacked. We thought the species wasn't that dangerous, but once we learned that they could absorb organic matter, they became extremely dangerous."

"How dangerous?" Over the past year, Brittany had started to believe that what Jin said about himself was actually true.

"Back then, we used a power known as Ki, it's the same as magic, but more physical. Anyway, it absorbed our power, using it to evolve itself and grow stronger. We were also a technologically advanced species, but our tech did nothing."

"How did you stop it then?" Addison asked

"Heh, that's the thing, we didn't. We developed a corrosive substance that was able to break down the Láspi on a molecular level, and we thought that was it; we thought we had won. Boy, were we mistaken. The Láspi had already mutated, able to morph into people, and from within our own ranks, we started dying.

So many people lost their lives. We had no idea who was a Láspi and who wasn't. They had also become immune to the corrosive substance and wen't affected by it. So, we did the one thing we could do: leave the planet. And even that barely worked."

"Barely worked?" Angela asked.

"Yeah. Some of the Láspi followed us on our ships, so we destroyed the ships that were infected, even if it meant killing innocents. It wasn't until our god came and finally rescued us. But then, he was absorbed by the Láspi, and the Láspi became a divine being. We were nearly wiped out until my friend, Zion, came to rescue us. We weren't friends yet, but after that moment, we became friends."

Addison tilted her head. "Zion? I heard you mention that name before. Who is he?"

"He's a god. A powerful god. He killed all the Láspi in the universe, or at least I thought he did."

All three girls were in shock. "Y-You have a friend who's a god?!"

"I have two." He replied

"That's fucking....Hold on, is the asteroid supposed to be glowing green like that?" Angela was distracted by the glowing green rock they were nearing in space.

"What the hell?" Jin zoomed in on the rock with his eyes, noticing that there was a green cloud surrounding the asteroid.

"Dammit! They evolved already!" Jin shouted.

Brittany got worried. "What do you mean?"

"The Láspi can gain the memories of whatever it absorbs. My guess is that it surrounded the asteroid with a mist created by the poisonous rock to prevent women from setting foot on the place."

"They're that smart?!"

"It's a parasitic lifeform. The more they consume, the smarter they become. We should be fine, though, our power kits should be able to withstand the corrosive nature of the Láspi, and it's weak to direct electricity. But it has to be direct. It can't be waves or pulses or anything like that. So we can't use the planet's magnetic field to stop them."

They couldn't believe how powerful this Láspi was. In the video, it was nothing more than some lube, but now, it was a serious threat.

"We're landing. Everyone, please, be careful. This isn't the time to have fun or take things lightly. One wrong move and you die." Jin needed to get that through their heads to make sure they didn't take any chances.

Though Jin told them that the Láspi was dangerous, Angela couldn't help but get excited. "Let's do this team!"
