Everyone walked off the ship with caution, scanning their surroundings to make sure they weren't suddenly attacked. Each of them overprepared before stepping off the ship, and Jin even placed a skin barrier of mana around the girls.

Though the Láspi could eat through mana, it would still protect the person for a good bit until the barrier finally broke. That was better than nothing in Jin's book.

"Wow, this poison fog is really dense." Angela waved her hand, but the fog still remained.

Jin noticed crystals on the ground, the rock that was crushed to make this fog, and placed it in a box that was used for gathering materials to study for later. He knew that this mission of theirs wasn't just to find out that the Láspi was, even though he knew what it was. It was to gather the rock and metal that the Aegis Corps wants to study.

"Hello? Can you all hear me?" On the coms, Miss Lockman spoke to them.

"Loud and clear!" Angela replied.

Jin rolled his eyes, but still responded. "Yeah."

Brittany and Addison responded as well.

"Great. If you keep heading in that direction, you'll end up at the site where the previous team...melted."

"Uncalled for," Jin muttered. That was a joke he would make himself, but he didn't really like Miss Lockman anymore, so he was being petty.

"Right...We have no idea if that slime is still there, but if it is, then your mission would be to make it off the asteroid as quickly as possible." She informed them.

"Roger that!"

The group continued to walk toward the former landing site, picking up rocks to place in the box until they made it there.

"Jin, would throwing these Láspi into the sun kill them?" Addison asked. Since her powers were like those of the sun, she wondered if she would be able to kill them.

"Unfortunately, no. The Láspi are like Tardigrades. While Tardigrades can't survive in the sun, the Láspi are extremely resilient. Besides, there is only one Láspi, the main one, the mind behind all of these arms. If you kill the arms or legs, they will just come back. You need to kill the brain." He explained

"A hive mind?" Brittany asked

"Yeah." Jin nodded.

"Whoa! Do you all see that? All that silver?!" Angela pointed out where the metal deposit was.

Everyone could see that this place had activity because of how the metal was mined all over, so they knew they were in the right spot.

"Brittany, bring the metal over here with your power. We have no reason to get closer than we need to. Also, if we go off the video, the Láspi was found underneath the metal deposit." Jin instructed her.

She nodded and did as he said.

Jin cleanly cut the metal into pieces, not compromising its value, then placed it in another box. He then placed that box in a subspace of his so he didn't need to carry it around, after getting some more metal from the deposit.

"That's all we're getting?" Angela asked

"Girl, we just took around 10 billion dollars' worth of this metal. Yes, this is all we're getting." Jin wasn't taking any chances.

Addison looked around, trying to find their enemy. "Okay, so, now we just need to locate the Láspi, right?"

"Yeah, but hopefully we don't run into it. I'd rather not see that—" Jin instantly flew right next to Addison, kicking her out of the way, then created a magic circle to block the attack coming from the Láspi that appeared behind her.

Fire burst in all directions as its attack was blocked, but then the magic circle started to crack.

'What?! Fuck, man! I hate this species!' Jin shattered his own magic circle, then wrapped the Láspi in his mana from the circle, blowing it up.

"T-Thanks!" Addison didn't even notice the monster behind her.

"That won't hold it for long. We need to get out of here, now." Jin was not going to take any chances.

Everyone ran to the ship.

"Ohhh no." Angela felt her body start floating, not from space, and then she was dragged backward.

"Goddamit!" Jin flew after her.

"Addison, come on!" Brittany yelled, following Jin.

"Hahahahaha! You wanna fuck with me?! Then let me show you who you're dealing with!" Angela extended her hands back, and right before she came in contact with the Láspi, she extended them forward and caused the molecules around the Láspi to explode.

She didn't make the molecules blow up, per se, but she slowed them down to a halt, then sped them up so fast that the kinetic energy it generated caused an explosion.

Angela felt the Láspi's grip on her disappear, and she landed on the ground without any injuries.

"You okay?" Jin asked?

"I've never been better! Did you see that? I was so fucking cool!"

Jin did think she was cool.

"Stay down, you beast!" Brittany compressed the space around the Láspi with her power, not allowing it to get up.

"Burn." Addison turned into a mini sun and started beaming the Láspi, making sure not to leave any trace of it behind once she was done.

"Hold it steady. I'll make sure it doesn't cause any more destruction." Jin started casting a spell. He planned on creating a black hole to suck the monster in there.

"I'll protect you." Angela stepped in front of Jin and created an ice wall around him.

'So painful!' Something said.

"Huh?" Brittnay looked around. "Did you all hear that?"

"Hear what?" Addison asked

Angela didn't like the sound of that. "Brittany, don't scare us."

"I'm not! I promise. I heard a—"

'It hurts! It hurts!'

"There it is again!" She shouted. But then she looked down at the Láspi, which was being burned by Addison.

"Wait, is this creature—"

'IT HHHHUUUUUURRRRRRRTTTTTTTTSSSSSSSS!!!!'

"ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Brittany collapsed to the ground, clutching her head as if it felt like her brain was about to explode.

"Brittany!" Angela rushed over to her to help, but then a slimy arm attacked her.

She was able to create an I barrier to block the attack, but it was shattered, and they were both knocked away, passing out from the impact.

"Die, you bastard!" Addison turned up the heat, frying the Láspi, but it then grabbed her arm and clobbered her in the stomach.

"Kwaghhk!" She was knocked extremely far away, passing out from the intense blow.

"Fuck!" Jin had to stop his spell and save his friends, but then he heard a voice in his head.

'J...J...Jin. R-R-Reaper! W-W-We r-r-remember you. K-K-Killer. W-W-Will...We w-will...WE WILL KILL YOU!'
