The woman looked at Jessa, then felt her ribs. None of them was broken, but she could feel that she was hurt. It was truly a confusing situation since their powers should be deactivated, besides her own, of course.

But instead of panicking, the woman smirked instead.

"Jessa Telegard, Jin's mother, huh. Are you as much of a nuisance as he is? Or did he inherit that from his father?"

Jessa knew that she said those words as an insult, and she did not like that her husband was brought up. Still, she forced a smile, even though she was angry, as evidenced by the bulging vein on her forehead.

"Maybe it was his father, because anyone who could think that I'm a nuisance is dead." Jessa's speed was faster than anyone's perception, and she struck the woman multiple times before she even realized she was hit.

"Argh!" She managed to defend her vitals on instinct, but when she pulled herself together for an attack, she felt a fist uppercut her, then a kick slam her into the floor, cracking it.

"Okay, so how does Jin's mom still have her powers?" Angela was so confused

"I have no idea," Lacena admitted.

"We should be thankful for this moment. Let's find the source of our power loss and deal with that so we can be helpful.

"Or, hear me out, we can use magic." Brittany reminded them.

"I don't think I'm good enough to use that in combat." Oculia shook her head.

"Same. Though I can use some spells, I don't think they're powerful enough to make a difference. Cultivating mana is easy, but using it as magic is hard." Anyssa agreed.

Lacena, Jerrica, and Angela agreed as well, and Angela could use magic, but barely. She was just skilled at that one spell.

"I don't think we need it anyway. Look at Jessa go."

Jessa was beating the brakes off the woman, not giving her a chance to counterattack at all. She struck the woman with a flurry of combo attacks, moved around to not be predictable, then went in some more, even flicking her off during one of her fast attacks.

"ENOUGH!" When Jessa went in for another attack, the woman made her body intangible, so Jessa punched nothing, allowing the woman to grab Jessa, punch her in the gut, then fire a beam of light into her chest.

"Oh shit! She's one of those!" Lacena backed away slowly.

"One of what?" Brittany asked

"An Esper like you. Ones who have multiple powers."

"Ohhh."

The woman then turned to the others. "You all are dead."

"Fuck off bitch!" Angela strengthened her body with mana, something that was actually very easy for her to do, and punched the woman onto the ground face-first. She then managed to freeze her body onto the floor, then elbow-slammed her on the back.

"Ha! You aren't so tough!"

"Fuck it. Let's do our best using magic, you guys!" Brittany charged in as well, also making her body stronger via mana.

All of them could do that since Jin made sure to teach them that first. It was only the spell casting that they had some trouble with. They could perform very, very basic spells, but those spells were only practice spells that beginners would learn, so they had to rely on brute strength in this fight.

All except Addison.

The woman broke out of the ice, getting back up, and grabbed Angela's face, slamming her into the floor.

"Nnghh!"

She then kicked her away.

Lacena rushed in, engaging in hand-to-hand combat. The two of them went block for block, evading and countering each other's moves.

Unfortunately, Lacena had no powers, so when she was bound by shadow tendrils, she couldn't do anything and was knocked away by a powerful strike.

Addison rained down fire on the woman, using an element that she felt extremely comfortable with.

"Powers? No, this isn't that." She blocked the attack, then took out an energy pistol, firing it at Addison.

Right on time, Addison dodged the beam, but that was enough time for her to be caught off guard and blasted away by a beam from the woman's hand.

Again and again, everyone joined in, fighting against the woman to bring her down, but each time they were beaten down, they got back up.

"Heh, I can't believe it. Jin taught you guys, how to use mana. No wonder you all aren't going down as easily as you should."

"Haha! That's right, you rat! Scared? We haven't even shown you our full power yet!" Angela was bluffing, but she hoped it would work.

"You're bluffing. I know an amateur when I see one."

"Shit."

However, at that same moment, all of the women felt their powers return.

"Huh? My powers are back?"

"What's going on?"

They were happy, yet still confused.

"While you all were chatting, I decided to take a look around and destroy these little orbs that were blocking your powers. You know, I might have to be grateful for the Aegis Corps experimenting on me with the power-dampening cancelers they put in my body. Otherwise, this would have been bad."

"Heh, nice going, Mother-In-Law! I'll give you 5 grandbabies with Jin!" Angela started to lower the temperature

"I'll give you 7." Addison's body ignited.

"Ha, small numbers. I'll give you 10!" Brittany wasn't going to be done in by those two.

"You're outnumbered and outclassed. Give up now, or face a horrifying end." Jerrica demanded.

"And tell us who you are." Lacena added

"This is my fault." The woman sighed. "I wanted to make Jin suffer by torturing all of you, so I went easy on you guys to prolong the fight. I realize that I shouldn't have done that. Madam Eve would be disappointed in me as well. I will beg for her forgiveness once I'm done with all of you."

"Pfft. Okay girl. Just die like the disappointment you are." Oculia blasted her with powerful energy beams from her eyes that were strong enough to topple a building.

But instead of being hurt, the woman took the attack like it was nothing.

"Don't think that mana is something only you lot can use." Her body started pulsing with the invisible energy.

"Uhh, guys. We might be fucked." Angela, no, all of them could sense it now that they could use mana.

The woman in front of them was powerful, extremely powerful. If their senses were correct, then she was a 10th-Circle mage just like Jin.
