Jin paced in his room, thinking about what he should do with the information he learned. He had already given his report about the mission, but left out what he learned about the Women Enhancement Program.

He wanted to study it on his own before confronting Mrs Horton. She, of all people, would definitely know about this program. After all, she was the head of the Aegis Corps during that time.

'Is she a part of the Sons of Adam? No, that wouldn't make any sense. They have a kill-on-sight order with me, and she could have taken me out any time she wanted by now. Hell, she could frame me with the authority she has.'

Jin continued to think about what he should do next. 'I should definitely ask Aunty Anyssa if she knows anything about this. She and Mom have been friends since childhood. No way mom would keep this from her, right?'

BEEP BEEP

Snapping him out of his thoughts were the results of his serum analysis. It confirmed that it was indeed a drug that increased the potency of a woman's abilities.

"So, that's like a super drug? Can I take some?" Angela asked, leaning over Jin's shoulder.

"Sure, if you wanna die, that is. You see this right here? It's the serum's chemical compound. It's very unstable. It functions like an energy drink. You take it, then your body will crash. But with this, it also has an addictive sedative in it that will make you want more. Taking one dosage is fine, and you'll be able to fight through the urge, but any more than that, then you'll literally turn into a crack head and then die from the negative effects it has on your body."

After Jin explained it like that, Angela was less interested in the serum. "What negative effects?"

"If my data is correct, then the serum literally breaks down your, well, everything. It literally melts your insides."

"What the fuck? How? Why? That's stupid! Who would even want to drink such a thing?" Angela understood the thirst for power and the lengths anyone would go to get it, but dying literally negates those lengths.

"Angela, people are stupid. Don't underestimate the stupidity of people."

"You're not wrong. Have you gone over the files you downloaded?"

Jin sighed, sitting down in his chair before looking at his holo tablet. He had the files pulled up, but he never went through them. In all of his lives, family was always a soft spot for him. He valued family and loved ones more than anything, so reading about his mother being experimented on would be hard for him.

"Not yet." He replied with his head down.

"It's okay, babe, I'll read it with you." She pulled up a chair and sat next to Jin.

"Aright." He opened the first file. "The Women Enhancement Project is a project dedicated to breaking through the limits of women's potential. For this project to work, the female body needs to be in a state of adrenaline. This causes the body to exert itself and push past its limits. So, to do this, we will inject women with a serum to induce this state."

Jin continued reading about how the project started and how the initial testing was going. The scientists targeted women who were extremely talented, regardless of their Tier of Power, and documented every outcome.

"The first batch of experiments will be conducted on those who are currently sick with the DNA Decay disease." Jin read.

"Hey! I know about this! The DNA Decay disease is a sickness that damages the female body the more they use their abilities, right?" Angela asked Jin.

"Yeah. It's not as common anymore, being curable now, but 60 years ago, it was a common occurrence, and even before then." Jin actually knew the real reason for this disease. Some rogue god had spread an energy called Primordial Decay throughout the universe that affected multiple worlds. Then, the younger brother of that god killed him, purging all the Promordial Decay from the universe, absorbing it into his being.

'I didn't know it reached this far out, though.'

"Right! My grandmother was affected by that disease. She thankfully recovered, but I remember her telling me about this. Anyway, you can continue reading."

"Out of the 5,000 test subjects, only 498 survived the process. It was easy to excuse their death and blame it on the disease, but those who were cured didn't gain any super enhancements. This, however, allowed us to improve the serum. The next batch will be tested on volunteers."

Jin shook his head. When he continued reading, he saw that the volunteers were women who were looking for a way to help out in the latest developments of science. To the public, they were undergoing an exercise to enhance their abilities, but what was actually going on was cruel, dangerous, and harmful experiments.

Even Angela was taken aback by the cruelty of the project.

Jin read some more. "20,000 people volunteered for the second major experiment, only 1,000 survived. Through that, we were able to learn more about how the female body responds to the serum, and we have created a new and improved version of the serum. This time, it will be tested on fellow Aegis Corps members."

"Jin, there's a list of people."

Jin pulled up the list and saw that it was the fatality count.

"Subject 1-A, Carla Fatbottom. Powers, Body expansion. Status: Deseased. Subject 8-C, Karlocia Lamen. Powers: Teleportation. Status: Deseased. Subject 15-E, Faris Carol. Powers, Hard Light Projection. Status: Deseased. Subject 57-I, Sherry Lockman. Powers: Material Absorption. Status: Alive. Project Success. Subject 68-K, Harley Jinn. Powers, Mind Control. Status: Deseased. Subject 74-M, Erosa Graner. Powers, Fire generation. Status: Alive. Project Success. Subject 87F, Jessa Telegard. Power, Speedster. Status: Alive. Project Success. Subject 94-U, Cadmus Clark. Power, Inorganic Matter Manipulation. Status: Alive. Project Failure."

"Jin. T-That's Miss Lockman, right? I-I mean that photo looks like her. Well, when she was young."

Jin nodded, looking at the photo of Miss Lockman. But that wasn't all. Cadmus was a survivor, but failed the experiment, and Erosa, the woman who killed Jin's parents, the woman he killed not too long ago, was also a test subject of this experiment!
