"I'm here, don't worry!" Angela slid down a trail of ice and hugged Jin so tight that he felt his bones creaking.

"Ngh! H-Hey! You can put me down now!" Jin tapped her back, hoping she would comply. But when she didn't, he tased her slightly, forcing her arms to open.

"Ow. That stung." She pouted.

"You'll be alright. It's nice to see you. But you might want to turn around, your ice is cracking."

The ice that was keeping the five inmates at bay shattered like glass, and they all landed on their feet. Some of them cracked their necks while the others wrung their arms since the cold made them stiff.

"Angela Silverstone, huh? Pretty neat powers, making ice this powerful." One of the women smirked.

"Heh, if you think that making ice is my ability, then you're in for a real shock, you ugly bitch."

For some reason. Jin didn't feel like her words hit as hard as they could have. "Hey, don't you think that an ice joke would have been better?"

Angela sighed. "Yeah, but I couldn't think of one on the fly, so I just said what came to my mind first."

"Fair enough."

"This is the boy?" A tall woman with silver hair and high-tech glasses asked the other women around her.

"Yup. I expected Patricia and Barthomala to handle things here, but it seems like they weren't able to take care of him." Another woman scoffed.

"Trash. Let's kill these kids."

"Wait!" Jin held out his hands. "Before we begin, can I get the names of all of you?"

"Carlis."

"Carly"

"Karlith"

"Karliah"

"Carlrissa."

Jin frowned upon hearing their names, but he didn't comment on them. Instead, he thanked them

"Now, we can fight." Jin wasted no time getting into the action. He was already annoyed that his house was destroyed, and he didn't feel like engaging in a prolonged fight.

"Jin! Don't kill them!" Angela shouted before he could take the life of one of the women.

"Tsk, why?"

"Because the Aegis Corps wants to bring them in for questioning."

"Whatever." Jin was surrounded by Carlis, Carly, and Karlith, all of them having a smirk on their face while the other two went after Addison and Angela.

"All alone, pretty boy." Carlis grinned hard

Carly also joined in teasing Jin. "And too bad for you. You can't kill u-"

Jin blew off her head before she could finish speaking.

"Don't think that they need all of you for questioning. Besides, I don't give a fuck about what they need. If I want you dead—" Jin's energy erupted from his body, overwhelming everyone around him, even Addison and Angela.

"Then you'd better stop breathing on your own, and I hope that I don't take you out with my own hands."

Karlith didn't even notice when Jin was behind her, shattering her spine and ribcage to incapacitate her. The pain was so severe that she instantly passed out while foaming at the mouth.

SCREEEECH

"K-Karlith!" Carlis used her ability to put distance between herself and Jin to save her life.

"Hmm? An illusion?" Jin could feel the world around him warp as if reality was changing, but his connection to reality wasn't altered in any way. Though things looked different, they still felt the same. This was an easy way to tell if you were experiencing an illusion or not.

SCREEEECH

"You think this elementary power will do shit against me?" With a single clap of his hands powered by mana, Jin blew away the illusion, and the shockwave blasted Carlis into a pole.

"Nnnghh!" She groaned in pain, slowly standing up. She turned around slowly to regain her footing, but a hand grabbed her face and forced her to her knees.

SCREEEECH

"Let's see what's in that stupid brain of yours." Jin forcefully entered her mind, breaking it without any care as he read through her memories.

He didn't learn much, but what he did learn made him realize that he needed to speed up his investigation on the Sons of Adam.

SCREEEEECH

"God dammit!" He tossed the now brain-dead woman to the side, making his way back to his companions.

"You two done yet?"

"HUH?" Angela asked, sliding on ice with earmuffs made from ice to block out sound.

Karliah has sonic screams as powers, and she kept breaking Angela's ice with her high-frequency voice.

"Ahh, so that's what those screeching noises were." Jin nodded.

On Addison's side, it looked as if she were having a field day. Carlrissa was beaten up badly, and Addison took the metal pole from a sign and started beating the shit out of her as if she stole her food or something.

"You like that, bitch?" Addison asked

"N-No! I'm sorry! ARGHHHHHH!!"

Addison wacked her across the face.

"I know how to make a dumbass say 'what'."

Carlrissa didn't understand what Addison meant, looking at her with a confused expression. "What?"

Addison clobbered her across the face once again. "Dumbass."

SCREECH

"STOP SCREAMING AT ME YOU WEIRDO!" Angela, for once, decided to actually use her brain and slowed down the molecules around the two of them until they stopped.

The only molecules that were moving were the ones around Angela's body, so she could still breathe and even see.

"W-What's going on? Why did eveything suddenly go dark?" Though she was able to speak, Karliah wasn't able to hear what she said. She couldn't even feel anything, and she couldn't see at all.

That wasn't the worst part, though. She started to suffocate as the air molecules were frozen and weren't able to flow through her body.

She tried to use her power, but nothing worked. Panic set in as she realized that she was dying. But when she tried to look around to find her companions, she was only met with darkness.

"Scary, isn't it?" Angela asked, allowing molecules to reach Karliah's ears.

"Jin taught me how to do this, but it takes too much brain power to use all the time."

"You're just dumb." He muttered under his breath.

"I bet you're so scared right now, huh. No air, no sight, and no powers. Well, it's time to say goodnight." A boot to the face was enough to knock the woman out.

"Okay, Jin. You're right. I need to use my powers more than just creating ice. That was pretty cool."

"I've been telling you this since high school!"

"Okay, yeah, true. But in my defense, ice is just cool as fuck."

"Whatever. Let's just—Addison! Stop beating her up!"
