Alaric looked at the portal, it didn't feel or look right but he came for a solo dungeon and one was in front of him.
He went into the dungeon.
He looked behind him one last time before stepping into the portal.
Alaric stepped on snow the moment he came out as it crunched under his feet. He walked forward until he met a resistance. He tried to move to another side but still met the same resistance.
"What is going on here, why can't I get into the dungeon?" He asked out loud frustration, was the dungeon rejecting him or something.
(You are in the protective space inside the dungeon. You have ten minutes before it disappears)
"Haha , you are no serious right that's ridiculous . This is a C class dungeon right system?" he said out loud running his hands through his hair. Quiet, he didn't get his confirmation.
The protection in dungeons was mainly for higher level dungeons but C class dungeon fell in-between that. Maybe he'd entered a mutated one, Alaric thought to himself.
" What type of dungeon is this?"
DUNGEON
NAME : Ice
CLASSIFICATION:B rank- magical dungeon.
TYPE: Combat type.
ENTRY: voluntary.
STATUS: Crimson Whip, bare minimum stats.
SURVIVAL: 35%
" B rank," he mumbled to himself," just what kind of shit luck do I have. I should've listened to my guts when I saw how weird the portal looked."
He stood at the edge of the shield touching it occasionally. It felt like a touching sponge . It would bounce back and forth everytime he touched it.
Everything outside was just snow, there was nothing else he could see except white and a few trees that have also turned white.
Ten minutes passed in no time and the protection disappeared. A chill hit Alaric enough to freeze his marrow . He'd bundled up while in the protective shield but it seemed to only work a little.
He had eventually bought a storage ring for the Dungeons since no one knows the environment they might fall into and he wanted to see how the boss corpses are sold or changed into material.
Alaric trudged slowly through the deep snow looking around vigilantly. He didn't know what dungeon creatures were inside the dungeon and he wasn't about to be careless.
Alaric had just walked a few steps when he heard a small growl, he stopped and looked around but he couldn't find anything. Everything was white.
If there was a creature out there it was definitely white, and could blend in perfectly with the snow. That proved to be worse than he had imagined.
Alaric summoned his whip and flicked it to his right. It hit something instantly and an angry growl followed. His instinct had been right something had been following him.
He didn't hesitate ,he turned around and faced the mysterious monster only to see black eyes staring down at him.
The thing was huge, he wondered how something twice his height could move in the snow that quietly. If had not trained he would have been decapitated without him knowing how.
This was really a B class dungeon, he thought to himself. He pressed the second button and flicked his whip towards the monster hitting it directly on its chest. The whip cut through the monster's fur as he pulled back ripping its skin off.
Alaric was surprised, he had thought it would take a lot to even hurt it due to its sheer size .
The monster roared again and charged towards him, Alaric moved to the size avoiding it. That was when he noticed the monster was a white bear. It was just a bigger and whiter version of a bear.
He aimed his whip at its neck and wrapped it around it and pulled hard. The neck broke with a wet crunch before coming right off .
Alaric looked at the head at the end of the whip then at the dead bear in surprise. This was a B class how was it this weak or he was just strong.
He walked to the head and smashed it in. He had heard that one could luckily get elemental stones from dungeons after killing a prey.
But it was a rare sight and could even be found in E class dungeons on weak monsters.
He picked the white flat stone from its head and looked at it. The elemental stone was useless to him since he was not an ice user but it would fetch a pretty buck.
For him he had to find one in an Eros or illusion dungeon which was already rare to come by. This type of dungeon has the highest mortality rate.
He looked at the body and decided to leave it since he didn't have Tim dally. He didn't want to sleep in the dungeon.
Alaric put the stone in his storage space and stood up. At that moment, something jumped out of the snow aiming for his neck. He side stepped it narrowly escaping the attacker.
Then he saw it, it was another white creature. It looked Like a wolf but twice its normal size. Knowing the characteristics of wolves he wouldn't put it behind him to know he was surrounded.
The wolf hawled loudly. Alaric covered his ears that were ringing and watched as the snow started to vibrate before more and more heads started to pop out the snow before their whole bodies appeared. There were ten of them in total plus the one that attacked him.
Alaric was surrounded. He had thought the first fight was too easy but it seemed the bear was mere bait.
Right now he knew the odds weren't in his favor, but there was nothing he could do but fight.
The first wolf lunged towards him with terrifying speed. He moved back avoiding its jaws as it snapped just a few inches from his chest. He countered the attack and hit it with the whip between the joint where its massive foreleg met the shoulder.
Wrapping the whip around it and swinging it throwing it towards another approaching wolf. It whimpered as it landed on the ground its leg bleeding.
Two more wolves circled him, flanking him from both sides observing as h attacked the first two. He knew that they were probably looking for a weakness.
While they were observing him, he was observing them back. Their movements and their rhythm. Despite having injured one, the wolves didn't seem to be fazed by it. He could feel the confidence from them. They were probably treating him as ready-made prey.
He feinted left, drawing the fast wolf forward it's mouth open. He moved around it and slashed it on it's back cutting through it's skin near it's spine.
It landed wobbly and howled and retreated as Alaric planted his feet firmly on the slow looking at the other wolves.
The wolves regrouped together, blending into the white background. Only their red glowing eyes ,growl revealed their location. Alaric touched the small cut on his forearm, a careless mistake when he avoided the wolf. A small smile curved his lips," I expected this."
With the small taste of victory, he activated velvet dominance his rise in power notable to the wolves who hesitated stepping back. He took this chance when they were scared and flicked his whip towards them, the red aura coming out and heading straight for the wolves.
Most of them avoided it in confusion as their pattern was broken but two were caught, causing them to fall to the ground whimpering.
Alaric took this opportunity, using their momentary confusion, and dashed forward . He slashed their gaps and weaknesses as fast as he could determined to hurt them as much as possible before the alpha regains control.
He hit them on their joints while he dodged their attacks with minimal damage to him. Whispers filled the surroundings as they clashed the wolves trying their best to hurt him but their tries proved to be futile.
Alaric had learnt their fighting patterns with every strike. The wolves started to retreat one by one snarling in defeat. They were intelligent enough to know when to fight and when to retreat.
Alaric looked at them vigilantly as they stepped back his breath coming out steadily. He was starting to get annoyed, he really understood why they were in a B class dungeon.
They were really hard to kill. He looked around at the now red snow filled with footsteps left around him. In the fight he had only managed to kill three , but to him that had been an accomplishment.
He had defeated a pack of wolves.
Alaric summoned back his whip and looked around. He knew the blood might attract more of them, he had to leave before some other creature came.
He didn't know where he was going but he moved forward, a dungeon had a boss and he would eventually find it even if he left.
He was only on the outskirts but had already been attacked twice he had to prepare himself for another fight. It might be hard or easy but he had to move forward. He won't survive in the dungeon because of fear.
