Amon and Damien appeared back in the classroom, and Amon noticed that there was no change to the classroom.
Still, he couldn't care less about what changes had appeared when his mind was caught by what Damien had said about him causing trouble.
Damien's eyes contained a trace of seriousness as he began speaking, staring intently at Amon.
"I won't ask about what happened inside the Star Gate since I know it contains a lot of your secrets.
"But you should note that you've been marked by the fake gods. They are akin to gods, but they specialize in regulating the world. For instance, fate, luck, karma and so many abstract concepts… they regulate all these. And from the looks of it, you tampered with one of them, enraging them to want to kill you."
Amon's eyes narrowed at first, then widened toward the end of Damien's statement.
Damien glanced at Amon suspiciously.
"You don't have to worry about it. My main body has dealt with it for now… still, be cautious as time passes, cause I won't always be there to save you. If I hadn't coincidentally arrived in time, you might have died."
Damien's words caused Amon's heart to skip a beat.
He froze, then let out a relieved sigh and thanked Damien for his help.
Damien glanced at him, then shook his head and stretched his hand.
Instantly understanding what he meant, Amon handed him the strange liquid.
Damien's eyes flashed in brief surprise as he looked through the contents of the potion in his hand.
After scrutinizing it for a bit, he shook his head and let a smile show on his lips.
"Didn't think this still exists…"
"Will it be helpful?" Amon asked curiously.
Damien immediately shook his head. "Of course. With this, you have nothing to worry about. Watch."
After he finished speaking, he walked toward Natasha, who still lay sprawled on the table.
He pinched her mouth lightly and poured the liquid into her mouth.
After that, Amon watched as Natasha's face, which had turned white previously, regained its color at a speed visible to the naked eye.
Then, something like a drop of blood gradually seeped out from between her eyebrows.
Damien's hand shot out like an arrow as he grabbed the liquid before it could disappear.
Amon watched Damien's hand rapidly decay, then regain its life…
Damien shook his head while muttering under his breath.
Then, he clenched his hand, causing the drop of blood to be crushed to dust.
Amon was briefly surprised, but he quickly fixed his attention on Natasha.
Natasha remained normal, and although her closed eyes had relaxed, her facial expression stayed the same.
After a few minutes passed, her lips finally parted to speak, and a smile appeared on her face.
"Thank you, Amon."
Amon exhaled instantly, letting out a breath he didn't know he had been holding.
"I should thank you too."
He mouthed as he watched Natasha push herself up from the table.
Her body felt weak, but at the same time, her strength was returning at lightning speed.
However, her mind still felt heavy, as though a thick fog was clouding it.
"You've experienced the distortion of time without being given enough time to acclimatize. Take this."
A single golden ball the size of a thumbnail appeared in Damien's hand, and he flicked it toward the blind girl.
Feeling the whoosh of the wind, Natasha caught it instantly.
"Thank you for all your help, Instructor Damien." She bowed politely the moment she stood up.
"It's nothing. I was just helping my disciple…" Damien waved her off with a smile and walked back to his seat before relaxing onto it with a tired sigh.
"I'm so exhausted."
His words made Amon's lips twitch, after all he had barely done anything.
But Amon couldn't complain.
After thanking Damien a few more times, he and Natasha left the classroom.
With Damien reassuring them that he had dealt with the fact they missed classes today, they didn't feel any worries in their hearts, heading to their houses.
Still, there was an unsettling amount of tension as they walked.
Amon had a few questions to ask, and so did Natasha, but none of them wanted to be the first to speak.
Natasha finally opened her mouth.
"I'm sorry for following you. I noticed you were out with Helena the other day and was worried about your safety."
Amon was startled. "You followed me then?" he asked suspiciously.
Natasha seemed to deliberate for a few seconds, hesitating on whether to say what was on her mind or not.
Ultimately, she decided to just go on with it.
Since Amon had proven that he was a true partner and was willing to place his life on the line just as she did for him, she felt free sharing this with him.
"Actually, my gift… how I'm able to see with it is by vaguely sensing people's aura.
"Using your aura, I was able to follow you. It's how I'm able to see most of the time, but there are times when there's no aura around. About your question, yeah… I was… a little curious about what the both of you planned to do. But I got lost halfway there…"
Amon knew Helena must have been responsible for this, so he didn't pay it much heed.
He smiled faintly at her and then shook his head.
"It's nothing, just don't endanger your life like that again." Although he was grateful, he wouldn't actively tell Natasha to put her life on the line for him.
Natasha nodded and let out a breath of relief.
"So we're good?"
Amon chuckled at her words. "Why are you acting like a shy girl? Where's the fighting spirit?!"
Instantly, Natasha's face turned slightly red and she punched Amon lightly.
"It's nothing," she dismissed smoothly.
Amon shook his head, not understanding Natasha at all.
"What did you go out to do at the ocean?" she raised a brow as they walked.
Amon pulled a strand of his black hair, and an awkward expression appeared on his face as he replied.
"To kill demon beasts…"
Immediately, Natasha was speechless. She didn't expect Amon to actively go and seek his death.
Shaking her head, she asked about what had happened to her.
Amon wanted to voice his suspicion that Helena was responsible, but he decided against it.
Tomorrow he would divine the answer, so it was better not to be hasty.
He relayed to her the things that had transpired, purposefully keeping his secrets and other details to himself.
Natasha was amazed that so much had happened.
After thanking Amon once more, the both of them fell into silence.
"The moon looks beautiful tonight…" Feeling the awkwardness stretching between them, Natasha laughed nervously and said whatever came to her mind.
Amon glanced up at the slightly darkened skies and muttered, "Yeah… it does."
The two of them admired the sight of the stars before finally heading back to their houses.
Amon bid Natasha farewell before he also entered his house.
Today had been an extremely long day, and with so many things happening, Amon already felt a little exhausted.
'Take things one step at a time… the Bermuda World is only going to get more dangerous and interesting from here on out…' Amon whispered to himself internally and sighed before entering into a state of meditation.
