Being positioned high in the sky, the massive alien ship cast an enormous shadow over the surface of the moon. Numerous explosions resonated as projectiles being sent in its direction attempted to make contact. This wasn't just the mere artillery the common soldiers used. These shells were several times more powerful, capable of even injuring Elites.
The mechas that had long dealt with the other alien ships on Triton were present as well, bombarding the ship with everything they had.
Yet it all proved meaningless. A powerful protective barrier covered the whole 400-kilometer surface of the ship, preventing anything from touching it.
'Not to mention that I can still see pods carrying Elite tier aliens falling from it.' Michael thought bitterly.
The situation was truly dire. Not only was the force of the alien invaders increasing with every passing second, but even if humanity were to bring down the alien ship, it would descend like a meteor, killing countless humans.
"Our brothers need us!" The soldiers continued their battle cry, fearing that if they stopped, their resolve would falter.
It didn't take long for Victoria and Roy to receive a private call.
"General Victoria and General Roy? Thank you for answering our call for aid!"
Once again the hologram of the general who had requested help appeared. With her being the general of base #1, she was without a doubt the most influential person present, if one didn't count the factions in the mix.
"General Evelyn, please explain what the situation is since the message you sent was interfered with." Victoria urged.
"WHAT?! Only the aliens would bother to do something like this. This has to mean that they can interfere with our communication!" Evelyn cried out loud.
This knowledge was enough to sour their mood even more. In war, the most important thing was information.
"Whatever the case, we are barely holding on. We have millions of troops focusing their weapons on the Elites, but at best they are only able to slow them down, and with the quickly running out ammunition, that will not be the case for long." Evelyn gritted her teeth.
"And even with the combined forces of the captains and generals, we're killing the Elites slower than they appear."
"May I ask about the General alien?" Michael butted in. As things stood, even with all the preparations humanity had made, they were destined to lose. The only saving grace he saw was to cut off the head of the snake.
Evelyn didn't seem offended that a captain had joined in their conversation or simply didn't have the time to care and answered.
"Golden Vanguard and Immortal Legion have each sent a Grandmaster. Sadly, both of them are still just Early Grandmasters and are having trouble keeping the alien contained. Several Masters have tried to approach and help them, but that monster seems capable of inflicting damage beyond our bodies. Many have already succumbed to its attack."
Roy frowned. "So we only have two Grandmasters to deal with that monster?"
Evelyn's mood seemed to worsen. "Yes. Even though the more experienced mecha users are attacking from afar, they also fear getting too close."
After quickly giving the instructions for the most dire fronts in need of help, Evelyn cut the call, having to return to the battle.
"No matter what, we will keep moving forward!" Victoria declared, making sure that the captains' spirits remained high.
The personnel nodded, increasing their march.
The members of the Indomitable Alliance as well as Amelia quickly gathered for a quick briefing.
"How are we going to split up? Only the Masters have any chance of killing Elites solo. We have to gang up on them." Enzo asked.
Of course their gazes quickly went to Ava. Since she was the only Expert here, they were planning to form a team around her.
"What do you think?" Yet rather than getting that into her head, she asked Michael for his opinion, knowing that even if his plans were rather uncanny, they proved to work.
"The generals will be fine on their own. We would try to match their kill rate and support them if they got too exhausted. All that is left is to rely on the forces already there." He said.
Once the march entered the massive shadow cast by the ship, they quickly found several other armies moving toward the battlefield.
"Our numbers are in the millions…" Michael mumbled atop the transportation vehicle.
Common soldiers had formed a complete circle over the landing site of the alien pods. They didn't spare ammo, unleashing hellfire at the center. Yet despite their best efforts, the best they achieved was only temporarily slowing down the Elites.
Between the Elites and the common soldiers were the captains and generals trying to keep them at bay, with the mecha in the air providing support.
But despite humanity's overwhelming forces, the Elites, who were barely in the tens of thousands, were moving forward, forcing the circle to expand as the soldiers backed away.
At this point it didn't matter to the soldiers from which base or faction they were. After entering the giant circle, all of them mixed and began to unleash their shells.
Naturally anyone with a realm of Adept or higher was ordered to join the melee and attempt to halt the Elites.
"There isn't even a need to threaten the deserters with death since we are essentially stuck here." Michael chuckled as he ran forward, joining the fray.
'I can't imagine anyone being so dumb as to miss such beautiful slaughter!' Devil's Tongue remarked.
Ignoring the sword's words, Michael took a peek back, making sure all members of his faction were with him. With so many weapons going off, communication was essentially rendered impossible at the moment.
Seeing his gaze, Ava nodded before accelerating her steps, the others behind her. The squad they had created rivaled the power of a person of the Master realm. As such, they began to fight beside the other generals.
'Now the question is what to do with you…' Michael mused, eyes going towards the very center of the battle, where an alien with a profound aura was barely being slowed down by two Grandmasters giving it their all.
Whether he should engage the General alien was something he had debated. However, not soon after, a window appeared before his very eyes.
