Supreme Paragon Reborn: Humanity’s Rise To Galactic Supremacy

Chapter 60: Unmeasurable

When it comes to comparisons of strength, even the most experienced veterans would have a problem gauging others' strength. Of course, most of the time the person of a higher realm would be the victor. But that didn't account for any techniques one might have at their disposal.

The two Grandmasters that had fought against the alien General were considered talented. Not only were their spirits more powerful than average, but they were members of the two strongest factions to exist.

Not to mention that they were a realm higher than their opponent. No matter how one looked at it, they should have easily been able to win. However, with their opponent being able to target their inner being, they were forced to play the game of cat and mouse.

'How can we be so unlucky? I should have been rivaling an Overlord, not a mere General!' Nathan, the Grandmaster sent by the Immortal Legion, thought.

Lucia, the representative of Golden Vanguard, wasn't faring much better.

Of course, the two great factions could have sent more than two mere Grandmasters. Yet in their eyes, they saw this as an opportunity to clash against each other.

Whose Grandmaster would get rid of the threat capable of harming souls?

By looking at the destroyed ground around them and then the unharmed look of the alien, it was clear that they were both out of their league. Having to swallow their pride, they began to debate when they should retreat.

Their lives were much more valuable than the millions of soldiers fighting here, after all.

'Are my eyes playing tricks on me?' Lucia blinked several times at the unexpected challenger.

To her surprise, there was a man that wasn't even in the Master realm standing before the General alien. What's more, judging by his nonchalant expression, he was relaxed!

'To stand before the alien so calmly, he must have suppressed his cultivation realm. There is no other way to explain it.' Nathan's mind began to race.

"You… dare insult me?" The alien mumbled, causing the air to stiffen.

Even when it intensified its aura to the limit, Michael remained relaxed as ever.

"You must have suppressed your powers… Tell me, what is your actual realm?" The alien mirrored Nathan's thoughts.

However, to their surprise, Michael simply shook his head.

"Why would I do something as pointless as hide my strength?"

"Preposterous!" The alien bellowed, beginning to walk slowly toward him. "You must take me for a fool if you are to spill such obvious lies!"

With a raised eyebrow, Michael countered. "But aren't you?"

"..."

The General looked at him for several seconds. This was the first time it had been insulted to such a degree!

"For your ignorance, I sentence you to death!" A third eye opened on its forehead.

The alien had initiated a soul attack.

'Thank God it worked.' Michael sighed with relief, seeing that his goal had been accomplished.

While the humans called it a soul attack, it was actually a soul duel. The two spirits of the challengers would meet in a fierce clash, and the more worthy would come out victorious.

The surroundings cleared, becoming a dark void.

"You must be shaking in your boots now!" The alien laughed joyfully once the darkness covered the whole area.

"Despair! This is what my soul looks like! What it is capable of! You have no way to beat me in my own domain!"

The body of the alien enlarged several times, revealing how its soul looked unaltered.

"It's been a long time since someone was foolish enough to challenge my soul." Michael mumbled as he took a peek at his current stats.

Soul Realm: [ERROR!]

Cybernetics: [ERROR!]

Strength: ???

Agility: ???

Stamina: ???

Spirit: ???

Mind: ???

"Too powerful to measure it, huh?" He chuckled at the revelation.

The alien General froze once it saw his chuckling.

'He must have lost it.' With that explanation, it began approaching Michael.

"Tell me… Why are you so eager to attack someone's soul? Don't you know that it could lead to severe consequences?" Michael's words prompted the alien to stop.

"Me? Lose? In a soul battle? Dream on!" The entity began to laugh, amused by Michael's arrogance.

"Fool…"

Abruptly, the laughter of the alien ceased, goosebumps going over its entire body. Its limbs began to shake against its will, screaming at it to get out of the area.

"What is this?"

A great shock washed over its mind. The void had disappeared faster than one could blink. Now they were standing on corpses, billions of dead aliens who stretched for as far as the eye could see.

The sky turned crimson, mirroring the blood of the fallen beings.

"A planet of corpses? What kind of bullshit is this?" The alien shuddered, eyes going over Michael's figure once more.

He still stood nonchalant as ever, but now the aura coming out of his body was so thick that it was visible to the naked eye. A power so grand that a mere General couldn't begin to comprehend.

'I… will die.'

Out of sheer instinct, the alien severed the connection. Because it had ended it early and without killing its opponent, it took severe damage to its soul. A handful of blood started gushing out of its mouth.

'A small price to pay for avoiding that monster! What kind of being is he?!' It cried inwardly.

'I must get out of here! I have to alert the others, a human like this must be exterminated at all costs!'

Making its choice, it turned its back to the battle, running away.

Naturally, the two Grandmasters were flabbergasted, since the soul battle had happened in an instant. In their view, the alien was about to face Michael only to end up running away a second later.

"I countered its soul attack. Now is the chance to gang up on it!" He shouted, breaking the two Grandmasters out of their daze.

'He must have used some kind of technique.' With their thoughts mirroring, the two Grandmasters went after the General.

"Sadly, I am still too weak to cause damage to its real body… Whatever, back to killing Elites."
