Hellbound With The Vampire King

Chapter 50: Cobblestone street

She was still engrossed with looking at the scenario of the vampire kingdom as she compared it with the witch coven, she thought in her mind the vampire kingdom looked refined and they dressed with all their bodies covered compare to the witch coven that looked almost like a village.

Serena was still deep in thought when she suddenly felt a warm soft bread being pressed to her lips, she took it from the person's hands absentminded, as she finally brought it to her lips.

"Little Kitten, you should eat, you have all the time here to know this place but you barely had anything to eat today."

Serena shook her head, "I'm not that hungry." She said.

"Nonsense! It seems you want me to hand feed you. Is that what you want kitten?" Eiravyn demanded already setting the pack of bacon on his laps as he got prepared to start feeding Serena.

It was then the girl suddenly snapped out of her trance, "No. no. no! You don't have to do that, I will eat." Serena quickly denied as she saw that Caspian and Celrean gaze were now fixed on her, she felt embarrassed, the tips of her ear turning bright red.

Caspian didn't missed this exchange. He pushed himself backwards, sticking his head towards the back of his seat between Eiravyn and Serena.

"I don't mind you feeding me Your Majesty,I want to also have some. Aah…" Caspian opened his mouth wide, waiting for Eiravyn to put the bacon inside his mouth while smiling widely.

Eiravyn glared at him, refusing to spare the man a glance, as Serena felt the tension in the car, she quickly reached for one of the bacon that was in the food container that was still on Eiravyn's legs and stuff it into Caspian's opened mouth.

"What do you think you're doing sharing your food with a vampire?" Eiravyn asked Serena while glaring at Caspian.

"That food is for you Kitten, and no one else."

"It's just one bite, don't make it seem like a big deal." Caspian said innocently, and then his eyes flashed with happiness as he turned to Serena,

"Thank you." Caspian mumbled his thanks to Serena before he finally leaned back into his seat with a wide satisfied grin on his face, obviously pleased with himself for riling up Eiravyn.

Eiravyn continued glaring at his right hand man's head from the back seat when he suddenly heard his mate coughing violently beside him, he quickly reached for a bottle of water beside him, as he uncapped the bottle and gave it back to Serena.

"You should eat slowly Kitten or you'd choke." Eiravyn said, his expression instantly softened as he looked at his mate.

"Tfank oou…" Serena mumbled her thanks to Eiravyn with her mouth filled with food.

Caspian exchanged glance with Celrean, it's not common for Eiravyn to treat anybody with this level of care, but he treated his mate almost like she's a fragile egg, this left even the cold-looking knight in shock.

"That's not fair." Caspian muttered, "earlier, you were so hard on me but look at the way you're treating you mate with so much care." Caspian complained.

"Then, you should get yourself a mate Caspian, and don't bother me." Eiravyn merely said, but his gaze was still fixed on Serena as he rubbed her back soothingly.

"Now that you said that…" Caspian trailed off, his mood smoothly changing from somber back to being happy again, he turned his body to face Serena.

"Is your friend in a relationship?" Caspian asked, catching Serena by surprise as her eyes widened instantly at the question.

"Do you know Kathy?" Serena asked, surprised.

"Oh, yea I know her very well." Caspian said as he leaned back on his seat.

Serena's eyebrows shoot up. Is it possible that the vampire met Kathy while they were still in the human realm, but Kathy never said anything about meeting him, then her eyes suddenly widened again as she remembered that after the art event Kathy had wanted to tell her something but she had been very focused on Eiravyn's abrupt proposal that she didn't remember to ask her friend again.

"No, she is not." Serena finally responded.

At her response Caspian eyebrows lifted, "Hmm… I see." He muttered.

Once Serena was done with her food, she finally turned to look through the window, at the people passing by.

"We are getting closer to the center of the town." Eiravyn continued his tour.

The three-story high building had various stores on the ground floor. Serena spotted a clothing boutique, a shoe store, a bakery, a beauty saloon, a café store, a restaurant and bar, a huge opera house, a tattoo parlor. There were something for all the citizens there and the whole place was buzzing with people shopping for themselves.

Compared to the stores she saw in the town area of the vampire kingdom that looked rather small, this place looked bigger and well-organized, it seems like they were owned by the rich and influential people in this kingdom.

"This is Dark Shade Crest. And it belongs to the high ranking merchants and people in this kingdom." Caspian filled in for her this time.

"The earlier stores you saw is owned by the commoners, this one here belongs to the rich and people with high standing in this kingdom." Caspian said, further confirming her predictions.

"You should know here in the vampire kingdom we follow the hierarchy as a commoner can't purchase any goods from the Dark Shade Crest and likewise. The people that belong to this elite town doesn't like to involve themselves with the people from the Dark Shade Trade, even though King Eiravyn's currently trying to remove the hierarchy rules for everybody to be viewed as an equal, the people here still refuse to accept the law." The man paused,

"When King Eiravyn was first made the king of the vampire kingdom after the passing of his parents, he made sure to split this town into two different town to accommodate the commoners who couldn't afford the things sold in Dark Shade Crest."

Serena listened attentively as she couldn't believe such archaic tradition still existed. She also noticed that Caspian thought very highly of Eiravyn, and with what she heard she could say without a doubt that Eiravyn was indeed a good king, and deserving of all the praise he was getting.

"He sounds like a good king." Serena said her thoughts aloud, almost startling Eiravyn who was seated beside her.

Eiravyn reclined his back on his seat with his eyes closed, he had a lazy yet amused smile on his face as he muttered to his mate,

"Are you making a jest of me Kitten?"

Serena pressed her lips into a line at the sudden accusation, "Of course not, I can tell you've done so well for your kingdom."

At the praise Eiravyn couldn't help but smile a little, "This kitten…"

On the right side, the road opened into a wide street and Serena spotted a cobblestone, the streets was dimly lit by flickering lanterns that was use to decorate the whole of the street, making the whole atmosphere in that place to be mystical, Serena also saw people roaming about.

"This is called the cobblestone streets, every year in this season, the people of this prestigious kingdom gather round to celebrate the Harvest Festival; where we celebrate the changing of seasons with feast, games, and so on…" Caspian explained when he saw that Serena's eyes lingering towards the cobble street.

"This street is decorated in honor of that Festival as it will be held seven days from now, there will be plenty of story telling, dancing and performance, you're more than welcome to come, that's if King Eiravyn allows it." Caspian said.

Serena couldn't help but to shift her gaze to Eiravyn to look at the man, only to find him sleeping peacefully with his head lean towards his seat, she couldn't tell if he was really sleeping or only pretending to.

She really wanted to ask him if she could go to the Festival as she was excited to attend her very first Festival in the Vampire Kingdom, but she was disappointed to find him sleeping soundly. Serena turned to face the window again, with her face downcast, there was a pretty pout evident on her face.

When she suddenly heard Eiravyn's voice beside her, even though his eyes was still closed, "Don't put thoughts in my mates head Caspian." Eiravyn reprimanded.

But Serena happily turned to him when she heard his voice.

"Can I go." She asked him with a little pout.

Eiravyn sighed… "You need to get settle down first, before you start thinking of mingling, is that clear?" Eiravyn asked, with his eyes still closed.

Serena nodded. After finally leaving the town, they drove for another few minutes with Serena gazing at the beautiful view in the kingdom, as the view change to take on another shape as the car moved, she spotted a inn. As they drove pass a large three-storey building that was surrounded with beautiful garden.

"That is the kingdom's hospital." Caspian said, as soon as the building came into view before the car drove right past it.

The car suddenly stopped in front of a huge towering spires, iron gate, the gate was immediately pulled open by two bulking looking men stationed at the gate, for their car to drive right through a circular driveway.
