As Eiravyn continued carrying her up the stairs, Serena poked her head out, noticing she was out of sight from the maids and butler. She quietly observed the space around her; they were on the third floor.
As expected, it was even more breathtaking and beautiful than the ground floor.
She saw yet another large, fancy open space. Crimson curtains were tied back this time to let sunshine through the windows. And she saw dark bronze candelabras hung on the walls between the windows, each holding four candles and she wondered if it was lit only at night.
She could also see about four doors in the walls and wondered which rooms they belonged to, Serena did not have the time to properly view the place when Eiravyn continued climbing another stair. Upon reaching the top floor, a large hall covered with red plush carpets greeted her. The path led to a tall, massive double door, Serena saw that they were twin candelabras, one on each side of the door, and they were unlit.
Eiravyn easily hoisted her on one arm and used the other one to push the massive door open. He gently put her down, steadying her before he turned to her,
"This will be your room. I hope it's to your taste." Eiravyn said, quietly watching her reaction.
The room they walked into was beautiful and welcoming, and Serena couldn't help the gasp that escaped her lips at the grandeur. She had never seen anything like this before; Even Kathy family's mansion, back in the human realm, paled in comparison—she was awestruck.
Serena walked around the room curiously, taking in the spacious, cavernous space in front of her. Though the ground floor and the floors she had seen while coming here seemed designed to fit ancient time, and tradition, this room was totally different. The vibe, the detail and decorations suggested that the designer took their precious time in crafting it. She was still observing the room when she heard Eiravyn's voice behind her,
"If there's anything you'd like to change in this room, you can talk with the butler." Eiravyn said, as he made his way to stand before her.
Serena quickly shook her head, "No, Eiravyn, everything is absolutely beautiful and much more than i expected.Thank you."
Eiravyn hummed lazily,
"My room is right next to yours, Little Kitten. I have to go now. If there's anything you need, there's a bell right next to your bed; just ring it and a maid will come." Eiravyn placed a lingering kiss on Serena forehead before he took his leave.
Finally alone Serena stood in the vast room, looking around the room, a room as big as her whole house!
Right in the middle of the room, was a massive bed draped in rich velvet curtains, gathered at the four posts of the carved mahogany canopy, She took a slow step towards the magnificent bed.
Running her hands over its velvet rich fabrics, she discovered that the luxurious bed frame was made of ornate woods, intricate carvings, and plush seating area. Thick layers of velvet blankets were carefully piled on top. She wondered who once lived here because of how cozy and warm the place was.
Serena walked to a close door as she turned the knob open, wondering where the place lead to. She saw a private sitting room with plush chairs and coffee table; large arched windows lined one side of the cozy room, and on the opposite side, a fireplace burned brightly with a warm fire. Serena could only guess this is where you relaxed and chatted with confidants.
On the right side of that was a study room with a tall floor to ceiling bookshelves which covered half of the room, each shelves were filled to the brim with all kinds of book, she walked out of the rooms to look around the other side of the bedchamber.
Further to the right, she saw couple of doors which she presumed would probably be the bathroom and closets. Serena turned around to look out onto the balcony, which overlook the kingdom. A soft breeze blew around the whole place, making her hair fly, as she gaze out over lush gardens with fountains. Beyond that, the town bustles — spires, markets, people tiny like ants. Farther, majestic mountains meet the sky, the iron railings with royal motifs, potted plants sat at one corner of the balcony.
As Serena gazed out at the view in front of her, she could not help but wonder what awaited her in the near future; she could guess it wouldn't be as easy as it seemed.
While she was in the car, even as she observed the bustling towns, she could not help thinking about Eiravyn's words back in the human realm. and how he told her his world was different from what she was used to, especially when he told her he was a vampire and she was his mate. She had imagined a lot about a vampire kingdom what it would look like, with what was recorded in the journals and some movies she'd watched, she had imagined that the people residing here might be living in a cold, dark, chaotic, and dangerous place.
However, to her surprise, this was where she had ended up, which was further from her imaginations as it could be. In fact, it was the very opposite of what she had imagined! Apart from the fact that they all had red eyes, they appeared like any other human.
Serena shook her head as she walked back into the room from the balcony. Now that she think about it, Why would a vampire be mated to a human? These thoughts had been bothering her even though she had no one to talk about it with. She could not help but wonder about the true reason. And why did Eiravyn reject her from the very beginning even when he knew she was his fated mate?
