CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror

Chapter 101: Illusion Wraith

"She's probably similar to you, Cow." The black cat meowed.

"What do you mean, Master?" Crow titled his bird head slightly.

"She's probably a Misery as well."

Fury, Misery, Envy, Despair. All four types of wraith that Mater had encountered before. There were more types than these four and they were as many as different types of emotions.

Aurora was a Fury wraith. Crow was a Misery wraith. Bash didn't have a type because he was artificially made to be devoid of a type.

"Which one of us do you want to face this wraith, Master?" Crow said. He turned back to his Abomination Form and stood beside the group.

"Please feel free to use me, Master." Aurora bowed politely.

Selina couldn't help but stare at Aurora. 'That is a very misunderstanding sentence, Aurora. From what I know of Mater, he would gladly use you as well.'

"Master points! Bash kills!" Bash tapped at his chest.

"Why don't you all go up together? Try to act like a team and coordinate with each other. This wraith is not simple."

"Will do, Master." Crow tipped his fedora.

"As you wish, Master." Aurora stepped forward.

"Bash kills!" Bash was as simple as ever.

Crow's body slowly dissolved into nothingness. "Try to attack it with your long-range spells, Aurora. I will find an opening to deal a devastating blow to it."

Aurora nodded. "Bash! Protect me! Do not let anything come close!"

"Bash protects Aurora!"

The Infernal Demon stepped in front of Aurora like a living shield.

"We better step back, Selina." Mater used up his chaos to speak human tongue. He and Selina left the playground for the three servants.

Aurora clasped her hand together. Her blue eyes shined brightly. "Ice Cage!"

An ice pillar emerged on the water surface and encased the young woman. Aurora immediately placed her hands on the ground and summoned ice spikes within the ice walls, penetrating the female wraith.

Her body dissolved into a puff of smoke and was nowhere to be found.

Aurora's eyes widened briefly.

Mater chuckled. "It is not that simple. This wraith is specialized in Illusion."

Suddenly, the ground around Bash collapsed and he fell to the ground. His large body didn't make much impact after the fall.

Bash reached his hands above and tried to climb out but the dirt moved away from him, enlarging the hole.

"Stupid dirt!" Bash lowered his body and jumped up.

He hit his head at an invisible tree branch above and broke it apart. The branch was revealed and fell to the ground.

"Huh? Ghost branch?" Bash scratched his head. He didn't feel any pain but was deeply puzzled by the situation.

Aurora squinted her eyes and observed the area. She finally had a grasp of what they're dealing with.

The sky, the grass, and the lake were all false. They're illusions constructed by a wraith out there. An invisible wraith that could hide its body. However, different from the bird wraith, she couldn't observe the environment to figure out where the wraith was.

The environment was twisted to hide its presence. This was a greater form of invisibility without the actual ability of invisibility.

"Stay close to me, Bash. Don't act on your own." Aurora said.

Bash nodded. "Bash listens!"

Suddenly, another Bash rushed at Aurora from the side. The Glacial Wight instinctively summoned an ice pillar to block the fake Bash. The fake Bash disappeared before he could even hit the ice wall.

"More illusion…" Aurora mumbled.

Suddenly she felt something thick on the side of her ribcage. Aurora was hit by something invisible and was sent flying.

She rolled a few times on the ground.

"Bash kills!" Bash turned in that direction and was about to charge.

"Stay, Bash!"

Bash didn't understand but he did as he was told. The Infernal Demon retreated back to Aurora and stood in front of her.

Aurora clasped her hand together and summoned multiple ice pillars around her, encasing her in her own ice cage.

"Now it can't hurt me any more. Bash. Wreak this place!"

"Hehe. Bash wreaks!"

Bash picked up his speed and charged. He slammed into several trees and pushed their roots off the ground. When he couldn't advance, Bash turned and charged in another direction.

"Very smart. Aurora protects herself and uses Bash to find the wraith. But if the wraith is even a little bit intelligent, it should be able to hide from Bash." Mater stroked his whiskers in deep thoughts.

Suddenly, Aurora saw a reflection in the ice wall in front of her. Behind her was the face of the female wraith from before. The wraith was holding a black knife.

Aurora ducked down and summoned ice spikes to strike the wraith behind her. The spikes weren't supposed to hurt her. But for some reason, the spikes didn't attack the wraith but attacked Aurora.

Ice spikes pierced her glacial body. There was no blood or Chaos leaking. She was an undead, not a real human body.

But she felt pain on her body.

"How?" Aurora mumbled. She hadn't felt pain since she died.

Bash charged at her, breaking her ice walls and threw Aurora at a distance. The Glacial Wight rolled on the ground. This time she felt the pain deep in her organs. Her lungs and stomach were flipped upside-down.

"This feeling…"

Bash seemed like he was going crazy. The Infernal Demon charged at Aurora again.

The Glacial Wight didn't move. She stared down the large Brute Demon. This time, she didn't budge as Bash phased over her.

"Illusions can be real, huh? As long as you think they are real."

Aurora touched an ice spike on her body, her hands phased over the spike. Suddenly, her vision was distorted.

She returned to her original location. Aurora was still in the ice cage with spikes attacking an empty space around her.

"What is Aurora doing? Why is she running around inside the ice cage?" Selina said.

"Illusions. Illusions, woman." Mater flashed his red eyes and stared at the battle.

If it was him, the wraith would die instantly as his Chaos Eyes could pinpoint the location of the wraith. But it was a good opponent to test the servants.

Aurora deactivated the ice cage and walked out.

"I have an idea, Crow." Aurora mumbled.

She jumped up in the air and turned into a white skeletal elk. The temperature of the entire area was lowered down a level.

The invisible muddy water beneath her feet started to freeze.
