The next day.
Aurora rose above her ice throne. The Glacial Shrine opened up. Her Chaos Well was completely replenished. And her level was raised by one.
Aurora was now a level 7 Glacial Wight. Her Chaos Well expanded by a little. Her spells and abilities were all enhanced.
"How are you feeling, Aurora?" Selina said.
"I'm feeling very good." Aurora said. The blue and white lines glowed on her body like a second skin.
"Let's put some clothes on you. We have things to do today." Selina said.
"What are we doing?" Aurora put on a white fluffy dress that Selina prepared for her.
"We're coming to the police station to deliver some of the missing Ankh Badges back to where they belong."
Mater was accessing the internet via Selina's phone in the front room. The virus was activated last night which provided him with the location of whoever hacked Selina's profile.
"A mansion, huh?" Mater stroked his whiskers. They sent mercenaries over to kill Selina. Mater was not about to let that go.
The group climbed on the motorcycle and went to the cemetery first to pick up Crow.
Crow emerged from within the Abyssal Shrine. He had no difference appearance-wise but his level was also raised by one.
Crow was now a level six Abyssal Abomination. All of his attributes were raised and his abilities became slightly more powerful. His Chaos Well didn't change much. Crow's focus was his abilities and physical attributes. Aurora on the other hand was her abilities and Chaos Well.
"Should we pick up Bash too?" Selina said.
"Yeah. We need to check on his recovery." The black cat meowed.
Crow turned into a bird and flew on top, following the motorcycle.
He told Mater about the memories he acquired and Aaron Cage's death.
"Interesting. It is almost like you are absorbing more of his essence. How do you feel about his murder?" Mater discussed with Crow telepathically.
"I feel like if I deal with it, my power may increase, Master."
"It will complete your psyche if we deal with that. So naturally you will become more powerful…"
Aurora and Crow were both killed. One by a mysterious Chaos User and the other by a heartless student. Mater wondered if he dealt with Crow past life's bully, would he also be more powerful as well.
"Do you remember who killed you, Crow?"
"A little bit, Master. Why?"
"Do you have the same feeling about him as Cage's killer?"
For the first time there was rage in Crow's voice. "I feel… That if I have my revenge, I will receive more than just a simple power up, Master."
"Heh heh. Don't worry Crow. We will deal with them. One by one. Your killer. Aurora's killer. Cage's killer. No one can hurt my servants without repercussions."
They arrived at the AE Forges and entered the forge studio. People stared at them again. Selina and Aurora were just too eye candies to ignore.
Aurora closed the front door tight to prevent others from peeking inside.
The black cat then summoned Bash out from the Infernal Shrine.
The black metal forge bloomed into a metal flower and spat out Bash. The Infernal Demon returned to its original large size. His body was completely healed and his arm grew apart.
"How are you feeling, Bash?" Mater meowed.
Bash tapped his chest. "Bash is strong!"
"Haha! Good. Return to the book, Bash."
With a flick of his paw, Mater retrieved Bash into Page 16th.
Unfortunately, unlike Aurora and Crow, Bash didn't have any method of concealing himself.
'Actually… When I reach my first lock, I can inscribe a Rank-2 Transmutation Spell which would allow me to transform Bash. He would then be able to walk around in public.
I only have one Chaos Singularity at the moment though. Need two more to build the Bio-Lock.'
Bio-Lock. The first lock of Warlock's pathway. It began the path for the Warlock to master their own body.
Afterward, they went to the police station to meet up with Detective Alister Baltimore.
"Selina?" Alister was surprised to see her. "Why are you walking around in public? They could try to attack you again!"
Selina waved her hand dismissively. "Don't worry, Detective. Those ants from before were just a nuisance. I'll kill as many as they send."
Mater nodded approvingly. 'That is my dark queen.'
Alister's brow furrowed. He could feel something was different about Selina but he didn't know what. Her choice of words… was rather aggressive.
"Why did you come here?"
"Well. Sheriff Carter from Ines Sota gave me a personal mission to deliver these badges to their families."
Selina put a suitcase onto Alister's table. Inside were the badges of Hunter that died in their fight with Samuel in the swamp. Those badges belonged to Aeliz City Hunter only. There were quite a few in other areas that Selina would deliver at a later time.
Alister opened the suitcase. He picked up a badge.
"Bruce Armstrong… I remember him. He was a good kid with a good heart."
Alister sighed deeply. "I told him not to go to Onoke many years ago. He didn't listen."
"We can give his family some closure." Selina said.
Alister nodded. "You're right. But you should understand something. This mission is not as it seems."
"What do you mean, Detective?"
"You can entrust all the badges to me and I will give them to the DSI. There will be people who handle this matter.
But if you want to complete this mission… You will have to tell the families yourself. Do you understand?"
Informing their families that their loved ones were killed was not a simple task. No man or woman should have to endure such experience. But the families deserved to be told by an actual human with a heart and a soul, not some fax paper or an email.
Selina's pupils dilated slightly. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
"I accepted the mission. I will complete it."
Alister closed the suitcase. "I will tell Cold to send you their addresses. Do you need help? I can send someone to go with you."
Mater squinted his eyes. He jumped to Selina's shoulder and whispered to her ears.
"Her? Okay." Selina nodded.
Alister watched everything in confusion.
"I want Lucy Carpenter to help us."
