CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror

Chapter 129: Abyssal Helmet

"Yes, of course." Selina said.

Mater showed his smug cat face. He looked inside the Demonic Arsenal and checked the details of the new item.

[Abyssal Helmet of Vengeance]

[Rank]: 1

[Level]: 10

[Description]:

I watched the black smoke fill the sky,

I saw the last few good men die.

My home was gone, my world was gray,

They took the light and walked away.

He brought the light back home to me,

He set fire to the restless sea.

The night has grown, the day has died,

With vengeance as my only guide.

[Spells]:

The only way I know is blade,

The only one I trust is him.

- Eternal Nether Sword: The Abomination may summon a sword fueled with Vengeance and Nether. The Abomination may charge its power to release a devastation sword beam. The power of the beam is decided by the charging time.

[Passive Abilities]:

I made a vow I'll never break,

To be the shadow in his wake.

- Vengeance: The Abomination and its wearer are immune to all mental statuses.

- Reincarnation: The wearer may inherit all powers and skills of the Abomination.

- Abomination Armor: The helmet may summon a suit of armor for itself or its wearer. If equipped, the armor would reflect the nature of the wearer.

- Connection of Despair: When equipped, the wearer's behavior might be influenced by the helmet. The Abomination could drain or share mental energy with the wearer.

- Voice of the Phantom: When equipped, enhance all mental abilities of the wearer.

"I have created a monster. A weapon of destruction."

The black cat spat out the helmet. It looked slightly different from before. It was a black metal helmet without any shininess of the iron.

"This is my gift for you, darling." The black cat's deep voice echoed. "With it, no one would be able to hurt you anymore. You shall be a true dark queen.

MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA."

Crow covered his face and Aurora looked away.

The Abyssal Abomination leaned closer to Aurora and whispered. "Has Master always been like this?"

"Probably." Aurora nodded.

Selina also turned away. But she turned to hide her red blushing face.

'Why does he look a little handsome just now?' Selina rubbed her cheeks and tried to act normal.

The goth girl then turned back to the black cat.

"So how do I use this? What exactly does it do?"

"It's simple." Mater raised the helmet above ground, "All you need is to wear it. You will know the rest."

"Alright!"

Selina didn't think twice. She took the helmet from Mater's small cat paws and put it on. Immediately, shadow tentacles reached out from under the helmet.

'Act nice, my servant.' Mater commanded the helmet telepathically.

'It shall be done, Master.' The Abomination inside the helmet answered.

The tentacles slowed down and gently came into contact with Selina's skin. Dark veins spread from Selina's neck to the outline of her face. It looked like she had black lightning bolts reaching up from below.

Black smoke exuded from within the helmet and wrapped around Selina's body.

Her clothes didn't disappear but it was fused with the new armor.

Soon, an entire new suit of armor materialized.

A black metallic suit that clinged to Selina like a second skin. It had curved feminine lines around the soldier and a narrow hip, emphasizing her hourglass figure.

The suit had four purple spikes shot out from the elbows and knees. The helmet changed from a slick black medieval design to a mix of traditional and modern aesthetic. It had a visor in the front that covered the upper half of Selina's face entirely and one single narrow line for vision.

The black cat walked around Selina, admiring his latest handiwork. It nodded repeatedly, prideful for his creation.

"Very nice. Very... Very nice. You look very good, Selina." The black cat meowed.

Selina the dark knight raised her right hand. A Nether Sword materialized immediately. It was a sword of pure purple, similar to Crow's Nether Spear.

The sword was wider and looked much heavier than the Nether Spear.

"I am vengeance." Selina said. "And I shall erase anyone standing in my way."

Mater smirked. That was the effect of Connection of Despair. That ability allowed Selina to use the helmet as an internal Chaos Battery. But it would also slightly alter her behavior.

It would be a big problem if the spirit inside wasn't enslaved.

"How are you feeling, Selina?" The black cat meowed.

Selina moved her fingers. "It feels like I bear the weight of the entire world on my shoulders."

The way she spoke had also changed. She was calmer, talked slower, and her tone carried a hint of sadness and danger.

But she was still in control.

"Wanna try it out?" The black cat grinned from ear to ear.

While equipped, Selina could hear him telepathically so Mater no longer needed to waste Chaos to speak human tongue.

Selina nodded, "I know this power... But it is also unfamiliar. I need... experience."

The black cat climbed on Selina's shoulder and pointed out the door, "Well then. We still have 29 bounties left. They are all yours!"

Selina nodded. She immediately walked toward the door. While wearing the helmet, Selina was more straight forward than usual.

Aurora jumped in front of her, "Wait! Don't you want to take the armor off first?"

Selina looked down at herself, then replied, "No need. The people would think of me as cosplaying."

Aurora blinked her eyes.

"She's right. This city has all types of weirdos. A suit of armor might attract some eyes but won't be that big of a deal." Crow spoke up.

"You guys have a point."

"Use up the Chaos Spheres and take them as your energy, Crow. We will return you to the Shrine later."

"Of course, Master." Crow absorbed the Chaos Spheres. He turned back into a bird and flew out of the window, monitoring the ground from above as he always did.

"I have a feeling people are going to stare at you a lot." Aurora mumbled. She pulled the door to the studio open.

'Aurora seems much more lively than before.' Mater thought to himself, 'Probably because her killer is dead.'

The group left the studio. Immediately, eyes darted over.
