CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror

Chapter 72: The Graveyard

"Lucy? Why is she weird?" Selina raised an eyebrow.

"I noticed that she secretly went to the bathroom several times a day to text with someone. I tried to get close and read her messages but the woman could detect my presence." Crow said.

"Of course, she can. She is a Psychic after all." Mater meowed.

Crow nodded.

"Maybe you're thinking too much, Mr. Mater. What if she was just texting with someone she likes and didn't want anyone to know about it?" Selina said.

The black cat meowed at the crow.

"Very unlikely, Miss. Lucy Carpenter did not have the attitude or an expression like she was texting with her boyfriend. Rather, she was trying to do something bad." Crow said.

"Oh? How do you know this?" Mater meowed.

"Instinct, Master."

"Instinct, huh..." The black cat stroked his whiskers.

Compared between the two, Crow was weaker than Aurora. But Crow seemed to be extremely intelligent. It's almost as if he retained most of his psyche from when he was alive.

Aurora was born out of a Chaos Ritual. While Crow was born naturally. It's possible that whoever the culprit behind Aurora's case had wiped her mind for the ease to control.

"Jump in the book, Crow. We're going to find you a shrine." Mater meowed.

The Dark Grimoire flew out of Selina's backpack and opened up. Crow flew into the tenth page, the painting of a shadow man with white eyes appeared.

Ten pages of the Dark Grimoire were filled up. Mater still had an empty eleventh page where he could inscribe a new spell. He reached level 6 so he could add another one.

Additionally, level 6 also allowed him to create a Demonic Item for his Demonic Arsenal.

Mater intended to inscribe the spell later. As for the Demonic Item, making it would require at least 2,000 Chaos Blood, which Mater didn't have at the moment.

He also didn't have enough material to create one. The spiritual pocket watch that the female wraith gifted him could be one of the components but he needed more than that.

"I actually don't really need to rush in creating a Demonic Item. I hold onto the pocket watch until I get more suitable components."

After picking up Aurora and Crow, Selina and Mater returned to her apartment. On her way in, they were greeted by the security guard, Mikey, again.

"Damn, Selina. Who lent you that bike? It looks sick!" Mikey said.

Selina smiled in a friendly way. "I didn't borrow it. I just bought it. Cool, huh?"

Selina zipped away, blowing winds into Mikey's face.

His mouth twitched non-stop. "Bought? That bike must be at least 5,000 credits or more. Where the hell did she get that money? Did she become a sugar baby for some old man?"

He was correct. That old man was Mater.

Selina went back to the house so she could change her clothes.

Mater and her had decided to buy a plot of land in the local graveyard to build an Abyssal Shrine for Crow.

The nearest graveyard to Selina's house was a religious one belonging to a local church. It was the most convenient graveyard location wise. Other graveyards were either too far or in a completely different direction to Aurora's Cold Storage.

The church didn't just sell graveyard plots for everyone. They must belong to the same religion and have a good relationship with the church. Selina was an atheist inside and out.

But she already thought of a way to gain the right to buy this plot of land.

She changed into an all black dress and wore a funeral veil to look as official as possible. Mater also called out Aurora so she could act alongside Selina.

Selina also picked a black dress for Aurora. Unfortunately, Selina only had one funeral veil so Aurora didn't wear one.

Once they were done, the group returned to the motorcycle with Selina in the front, Aurora in the back, and Mater in Selina's collar. They rode to the church in question.

The church was just finishing its religious ceremony and Pastor Jeff had just seen every one off. He went back to his office, opened up the window and lit up a cigarette.

Being a Pastor was a heavy profession. Not physically wise, but mentally wise. Jeff had to always be there for everyone. Sometimes, it was just too much for his mental health. He had developed a bad habit of smoking because of that.

Suddenly, he heard the loud engine of a motorcycle outside his church.

Pastor Jeff quickly put off the cigarette and waved his hands in the air, getting rid of the smell. He grabbed a mouth spray in the drawer and sprayed it in his mouth, masking the cigarette smell.

Pastor Jeff adjusted his clothes then walked out to the lobby.

He thought it was some punks in the local neighborhood who came looking for guidance or trouble. Instead, he saw two gorgeous women standing at the door. They were ethereal, almost looking like a painting on the wall.

A woman of pure black and a woman of pure white.

"Dear god. Please help my soul." Pastor Jeff took a deep breath. He must not be tempted by mortal desire.

Pastor Jeff smiled gently and approached the two women. He saw a black cat on one of the woman's shoulders.

"Hello. How can I help you?" Jeff said.

"We're looking for the pastor." Selina said.

"You're looking right at him. I am Pastor Jeff, at your service."

"Pastor... My name is Selina Isles. This is my sister, Aurora... Isles. We were wondering if we could buy a plot of land in the local graveyard." Selina said.

"A grave plot? Please excuse me for intruding. But may I ask if this is for the future or..."

Aurora sobbed. She gently wiped her icy tear out of the corner of her eye.

"Our brother, Mater, just died." Aurora said in a pitiful tone.

Mater's mouth twitched in surprise. 'I said to act. I didn't tell you to use my name?!"

Selina held in her laughter. "Yes... He moved on unfortunately."

Selina tried to have a sorrowful expression as well. But she wasn't as good as Aurora.

"Please accept my sincerest condolences, Miss Isles. Where is he now?" Pastor Jeff made a circle in front of him and said.

"He is... still in the morgue." Selina secretly rolled her eyes.

'Stop asking too many questions, pastor!' Selina thought to herself.

"Oh? He is still in the morgue but you're already wearing funeral clothes?" Pastor Jeff raised an eyebrow.

Mater covered his face in disappointment.
