A light pink hexagon dome appeared on the eleventh page. Along with it were the details of the spell.
[Force Dome]
[Effect]: Choose a location within a 10-meter radius around you, materialize a dome made out of pure kinetic energy. This dome blocked all physical and magical attacks up to 100 Rank-1 Chaos Points. The dome can have a maximum diameter of 2.5-meter. The larger the dome, the weaker the barrier will be.
[Cooldown]: 1 minute
"Hah. The first spell of mine that reached a minute cool-down." Mater meowed.
One Chaos Point was basically a kilometer of Chaos Blood. The higher in rank a warlock was the denser and more powerful his Chaos Blood would be. That was why the spell pointed out the rank of the Chaos Blood.
Contrary to the previous spell, the cool-down and range of Force Dome wasn't changed at all. However, the durability of the spell changed. Originally, Force Dome had a maximum of 30 Chaos Points. It had just tripled the amount for no reason.
Even Mater was surprised.
"I did feel that Cat was more in tune with Chaos. But this is simply broken." Mater meowed.
Luckily most cats weren't that smart as him. If they were, they would have taken over the world.
Once Mater was done, he jumped back into Selina's bed and bathed in her scent for the night.
That night, Crow was absorbing the negative energy inside the cemetery when a certain unique energy reached him. The energy of Aaron Cage. It didn't give Crow more Nether nor a unique ability, but it showed him something special.
Aaron was a Platinum Hunter. His mental energy was much larger than the ordinary people and they were preserved. When Crow touched these hidden energy, he saw Aaron's memory.
An eye popped up on the dark tree inside the crypt. It was Crow's eye. Flashes of images and sound showed up.
Aaron had a wife once. They're divorced. He also had a daughter. His daughter must be at least 30 years old at the present. Crow saw how Aaron raised her and also saw how they grew apart because of Aaron's secret profession.
His daughter was an ordinary person. She did not sign the SCOA. To protect her, he had to go away. This estranged relationship pushed his daughter away. She had not seen him since the day he died.
Morning came. The first thing Mater heard was a telepath message from Crow.
Crow informed him about the situation but because of their long distance, the message took a while to reach Mater.
"Mental energy, huh? It might not be a bad thing." Mater didn't worry that much. Crow was an Abyssal Abomination, a being not easily corrupted by other forces. Unless that force came from a higher realm than the hell of darkness.
That was very unlikely.
Selina grabbed Mater and pulled him into the bathroom. Despite Mater's disapproval, the two of them went through the morning routines like usual.
Today, Selina picked a leather biker outfit that she just bought for the long journey to Ines Sota. She also brought quite a few clothes for Aurora to change into. Crow already had clothes so he didn't need any.
Aurora jumped into the Dark Grimoire and Selina put the book into her backpack.
Mater got into Selina's shirt again and popped his head out of her collar. The tight leather shirt made her scent extra dense.
"He he. You smell good, Selina." Mater laughed deviously.
"Again with that evil laugh, Mr. Mater."
They rode into the cemetery to pick up Crow. Selina waited for Mater outside of the cemetery while the cat climbed through the fence and found his way back to the crypt.
In the room underground, Mater called upon Crow.
The first thing appeared were his two eyes. As he raised upon the tree, his shadow body separated from it. The tree became thinner and disappeared from the naked eyes.
Similar to Crow, the tree could turn itself invisible. At first glance, the entire room should appear completely normal. Unless the visitor had a mirror or some sort of power.
Crow jumped back into the Dark Grimoire as well. Mater returned to Selina and the pair went on the journey.
Ines Sota was a small town near Aeliz. But to get there on land, even for a sporty vehicle like the Landa, it would still require at least an eight-hour drive.
As Selina estimated, they should arrive at the town after the sun had set.
The goth girl put on the small helmet and goggles for the black cat. He popped his head out of her jacket to look at the windy highway. The cool wind blasted on his face.
"Feeling kinda good." Mater meowed.
"Cruising on the highway feels good, yeah?" Selina laughed gently.
The black motorcycle sped down the empty highway.
Once the early morning passed, more vehicles appeared on the road. A few of them spotted the girl in black on her motorcycle and the small black cat inside her shirt.
Some passed by after a little bit of staring. But some were more courageous.
A man on a truck rolled down his window to whistle at Selina. "Nice outfit you got there, girl."
Selina didn't answer. She rolled the throttle more and zipped past the truck. The truck had no chance of catching up to her.
"Aw, come on. I was just saying hi."
The pair continued on the journey peacefully. They stopped at a diner around noon to have lunch.
There were quite a few vehicles parked in the front. Most were truck drivers and travelers.
Selina parked the motorcycle and walked inside. The waitress was a very nice young woman and the food was fine. It wasn't good but for a diner on a highway, it was acceptable.
The pair was just minding their own business when some drunk driver started harassing the male waiter there. The other waiter was a tall young man that was extremely muscular.
The truck driver was both skinnier and shorter than the waiter.
"I don't understand people these days. Can't he see that he would lose in a fight?" Selina whispered.
"Dumb people will always be dumb." Mater continued sipping his smoothie.
One of the truck drivers spotted Selina in the corner. Her appearance caught their attention. While the short guy was still trying to pick a fight with the waiter, another skinny tall guy approached Selina.
"Aw shit. Here we go again." Mater wiped his mouth. Secretly, he summoned Crow out of the book. He turned into a strip of shadow and slipped out of Selina's backpack.
